Teachers Talk Crime

Good luck Ashleigh on testing this week & happy Bachelorette Week to Brooke.

Welp, this case may seem familiar to some of you as we covered a very similar case recently. See if you can find any similarities and/or differences. This is the murder of Kayla Rolland, a 6 year old who was shot by her classmate Dedrick Owens, also 6 years old. Dedrick brought a handgun to school and killed Kayla, because she wouldn't kiss him. Where is Dedrick now and what do we know about this case in comparison to recent events?

I think we actually kept this one somewhat mini. This is a more recent case that was brought to our attention by social media and the stir it caused among teachers. This is the assault on Joan Naydich. Joan, although she now says she didn't, was attacked because she took a students Nintendo Switch. The student was Brendan Depa and is currently facing charges for this brutal attack.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US! WE ARE OFFICIALLY ONE YEARS OLD! Thank you for all your support and encouragement this last year. We are so blessed with the community we have built and we hope we never disappoint any of you.

In July of 1971 Rita Curran a 24 year old 2nd grade teacher moved into a first floor shared apartment with two other females she met in a news paper ad. She was hard working and driven, but on July 19th she was murdered. Her case went cold for 52 years before DNA and Genealogy testing solved her murder and her family received the closure they were longing for.
