The Bible tells us that when we train up children in the way of the Lord, they will not depart from it when they are older (proverbs 22:6). And when Jesus was asked about the heavenly kingdom, he took a child and said “the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these” (Matthew 19:14). Little children have a special place in God’s heart, and he has entrusted us as parents and guardians to care for them in the same way the Lord cares for us.
