Series Two continues leading up to its epic series two finale (on a yet to be determined date). Your hosts missed all of you! They missed being in your headphones/speakers. If you listen to this podcast, you're probably aware that San Diego Comic Con begins TODAY (if you're going to Preview Night). After two years of not being put on and a lighter version of the event, SDCC returns in full scale this weekend. Your hosts, Teebs and KidPhoenix, are seasoned veterans of the Con. As such, they felt it was a good opportunity to give those attending (both first timers and other seasoned veterans) some of their best tips and tricks for going to and enjoying everything that such a spectacle of nerd-dom has to offer as well as reveal what they're looking forward to most.

The day is finally here!

This is the podcast that your hosts have been teasing for at least six months, now. We told you it was going to happen. We hope it's worth the wait. It's Teebs (a noted art school graduate) and KidPhoenix (a noted art appreciator -- at times) discussing fine art. (Well, Teebs will discuss it. KidPhoenix will likely stumble over himself talking about it.) Your hosts discuss the importance of fine art in pop culture and common misconceptions about how art should be appreciated and taken in.

Today ... Your hosts, Teebs and KidPhoenix have an in-depth discussion of mental health after so many persons with uteruses in the United States may be in a state where their mental health may be shaken.

Many people use pop culture as a way to soothe, relate, or even escape from the drudges of reality, and your hosts wanted to take a moment to talk about how pop culture shapes how mental health is depicted in media, where those depictions came from, and what kind(s) of state it's in, now. There are some ideas from the past that still linger in popular media to this day, but are there any bright spots? Also, how do some consume pop culture and what are those purposes.

If you have a mental health disorder or believe you may have one, seek help if you are able to. It may be hard for some to admit the POSSIBILITY they have one, but as a piece of pop culture taught some of us as kids ... "Knowing is half the battle."

Once again, ladies and gentlemen. Your hosts have decided to take a week off from the dick and fart jokes to talk about something serious. Lots of folks around the world have those properties they are passionate fans about. They voice their opinions -- very vocally on social media, nowadays. Sometimes, fandom can be very good. It brings people all over the world together for one common interest. Unfortunately, the adverse is true. Some of those same fans in these fandoms can create a toxic and unsafe environment for the collective at large. These are the folks that your hosts, Teebs and KidPhoenix want to speak to. Sure, some things may change or companies may create content that isn't in line with what has previously been liked or established. Here's the thing. Should there be maybe be more acceptance when this new content tries to bring more people into these fandoms?

There are certain intellectual properties that are a fabric of the culture lexicon. Teebs and KidPhoenix are always out to celebrate those properties that are due for praise. With the announcement of the Resident Evil 4 Remake by Capcom, your hosts decided that this week would be a great opportunity to show their love and admiration for quite possibly the best horror video game franchise of all time -- Resident Evil. RE was a game that (sort of) launched with the original Playstation back in 1995, and this franchise has been terrorizing gamers ever since. It's a great deep dive into the great series and what your hosts love about it.

TW: Gun violence

There is no easy way to discuss this topic, but your hosts Teebs and KidPhoenix will do their best to express how they feel about the tragedies in Texas and Buffalo, New York over the past two weeks. Words will be said. Opinions will be made. It's past the time where these tragedies happen, and they're dismissed as "business as usual" until the next one -- because as we've seen, unfortunately, there will be a next one. Your hosts tell you how they feel about what happened, where we are as a society with this problem, and how much of a responsibility (if any) pop culture and media has to play.

Another week. Another Marvel Disney+ series trailer. This time, it was the world debut of "Marvel's She-Hulk".

That's right. Jennifer Walters has entered the MCU chat. Walters/She-Hulk is a favorite of Teebs, so of course, he's hype about it (as is KidPhoenix, but not to similar extents). Your hosts give their thoughts on how the series looks based off of a two-minute hype video -- because just about everyone else is. Why should they be any different?

In the second half of today's pod, Teebs and KidPhoenix discuss Phase 4 of the MCU, and where it stands after "Doctor Strange & The Multiverse of Madness". She's BAAAAAAAACK!

"Baby Sis" has joined your hosts again on the podcast. Apparently, there was some umbrage taken with what her brothers Teebs and KidPhoenix had to say about slasher films last week. As a result, she has graced the podcast airwaves again to hack and slash at her brothers and leave a trail of blood and hurt feelings in her wake. We'll hear what she has to say in what is becoming a fan favorite and regular occurrence (not to regular if Teebs and KidPhoenix have any say).

In the second part of this week's pod, there is a discussion about the new piece of Star Trek content that is two episodes into its life. "Strange New Worlds" returns Trek fans to the life of Christopher Pike and his command of the USS Enterprise. How does it stack up to other content that has come out recently such as "Discovery" -- which is always a hot topic of debate when Teebs and KidPhoenix talk Trek.

Happy Friday the 13th to all! It's an advanced greeting since we release podcasts on Wednesday, but who argues semantics? Certainly no one on this podcast!

What makes horror films so good (in their opinion)? Why do they like them? There is some talk about the big franchises like "Friday the 13th" and "A Nightmare on Elm Street", but where did those movies get their cues from? Joining Teebs and KidPhoenix on today's pod is Jennifer Cooksey of Horrorgasm SD to help the Royster Brothers navigate through the dark, misty surroundings of the woods of the slasher genre.
