  • Data sanitization for the data nation, Verity ES Podcast
Data sanitization: Special ASCDI ITAD Podcast on secure data erasure that evaluates and improves the eradication process
Personal data storage is found on almost anything that runs on power. The same holds for organizations, larger and small. The price we pay for convenience, speed, automation, and integration, is that the myriad of devices we all touch every day, are quietly storing valuable information. A good deal of the information represents not only a potential personal or business vulnerability, but in many cases, a legal liability, or even a federal and/or state legal obligation, to retain in a secure manner. When it comes time to dispose of IT assets, a proper data sanitation process is required, and ideally, that process should be done onsite, before the disposed products ever leave their premises. In this podcast, we meet up with Glen Jacobson and Kevin Enders who tell us the story of how Revert, developed Verify ES, to meet just that specific challenge.
Verity ES not only powers the ability of Revert to perform on site data sanitation, but it also enables entperise to use the product on their own, to achieve the best possible results. We learn that Verity ES knocks out the data that needs to be erased without compromising the firmware, thereby making the outbound gear more valuable for resale.
Kevin notes that enterprises seeking to work on their own, should consider using a tool such as Verity ES, where time, experience and knowhow are baked into the software, enabling the enterprise user to avoid mistakes and get great outcomes. Glen adds that Verity ES has built into it over twenty years of direct data center experience to provide what he describes as, “…womb to tomb transparency.”  That transparency also meets the needs of ITAD. We learn that Verity ES is not static software. It is a tool to evaluate and improve your eradication process.

“Our solution is 100% white label”, says Mélie Delahaye, who is quick to point out that her company’s name does not mean that they design phones, but rather that this new Cloud Communications Alliance (CCA) member offers an opportunity to offer customers a set of unique services. Frank Swindler
    Dave George
Two-way radio technology has grown and developed. Traditional 2-way radio has improved with better technology. Advancements were made with push to talk over cellular. With the emergence of wifi-radios, there are now multiple solutions for any given situation.
Listen in to Dave George – President & Chief Technologist, Pryme Radio and Frank Swindler – Technical Director, Cardinal Wireless as they discuss with Don Witt of the Channel Daily News, a TR publication, the 2-way radio market and how to make sure you make the correct handset purchase as well as equipping it with the best accessories to meet the tactical requirements and maximize the user experience.
Public safety will have different requirements from hospitality.  It is best to work with an organization that knows what products will work best for what situations. If you have low quality headset for hospitality, you may not be able to hear if a room is ready for a client making him register later and store his bags with the bell hop. How much is the cost for a dissatisfied customer.  These are real issues that need to be addressed up front and you need people with experience to make it happen properly.
For almost 30 years, PRYME has been a leading manufacturer of high-quality products for professional users of two-way radios. Located in Brea, CA, their line of accessories serves many markets including public safety, police, fire, emergency services, healthcare, security, oil & gas, tactical and hazmat professionals, as well as industrial, commercial, hospitality and entertainment markets.
Cardinal Wireless has been in the Wireless For Work business for more than 30 years. Founded in 1980 as Cardinal Two-Way Radio Communications, Inc., they specialized in efficient, cost-effective services for business and industry. From there they grew to become a major radio and wireless equipment dealer, service center, and airtime supplier serving the Central Indiana market. Today, they focus their efforts on providing high-quality UHF/VHF trunking, digital or analog radio communications, GPS systems and accessory equipment.

  • The long march from telecom to technology, CSG Podcast
Industry leader Haifa El Ashkar of CSG sees era of connecting businesses through ecosystems: collaboration, co-creating, bringing together beyond connectivity solutions.
    Haifa El Ashkar
“Most of the operators are witnessing flat revenues,” says Haifa El Ashkar, Director of Strategy, Telecommunications Market and Solutions at CSG. “To unlock that topline revenue, they’re going to have to go beyond connectivity.” In this far-reaching podcast, Haifa outlines the critical role telecom companies will play building ecosystems and designing new infrastructures to help support an increased connectivity demand – and what it means for telecom companies to move beyond connectivity and into the role of a tech company. Haifa believed that we sent the previous decade connecting people through social media. Over time, social media became a place of commerce, a market, for businesses to sell, or at least connect with consumers. “I like to talk about this decade, 2020 to 2030, as the era of connecting businesses through ecosystems: collaboration, co-creating, bringing together beyond connectivity solutions.”
Haifa discusses how several new technology announcements this year (GenAI, and new AR headsets to name a few) and the proliferation of new technologies means for telecom companies shifting to a more tech-focused role. Is there opportunity in Generative AI? How will AI and 5G impact telecom opportunities and, together, offer new unique products and services to sell. We explore the future of selling and offering technology solutions, in this episode.
CSG empowers companies to build unforgettable experiences, making it easier for people and businesses to connect with, use and pay for the services they value most. Our customer experience, billing and payments solutions help companies of any size make money and make a difference. • Unified Communication for a Diverse World: Unraveling the Magic!, HoduSoft Podcast
    “This is just the beginning.”
“I believe that the magic is in being human to human, says Kartik Khambhati, Co-Founder & Chief Business Development Officer of HoduSoft. Kartik thinks that the silo like definitions of B2B and B2C are perhaps too confining and possibly distort the purpose of delivering products or service. Kartik vision and values are routed in human-to-human contact and in the ways technology and organizations, together, can make humans better off. In this most interesting podcast, as a new member of the Cloud Communications Alliance, Kartik talks about stakeholders, and the stakeholders have to do with meeting the needs people have. UNICEF is a client of HoduSoft. However, Kartik describes how the stakeholders include the parents and children UNICEF helps. Helping UNICEF with its ambitious vaccination program, makes everyone up the chain from client to MSP to carrier, all better off. The “magic” occurs by making people better off, improving lives, and in this way building a, from the ground up impact. “The consumer is an individual,” adding that his approach is being proactive. Kartik discusses a heuristic view, where business success is based on first improving the well-being of people, as technology serves as a bridge to bring people together.
“The biggest stakeholder in any business is a person, the human being… The biggest asset in any business is a human being.”
Kartik walks us through his major product groups: HoduCC (Call Center Software), HoduPBX (IP PBX Software), and HoduBlast (Voice and SMS Broadcasting Software). Their PBX is now STIR/SHAKEN complaint. We learn about a refreshed approach across these product areas.
“The magic is not in the technology. The magic is always in the people.”

  • The Next Generation of Caller ID is all about KYC, Numeracle Podcast
The Next Generation of Caller ID is all about KYC...is all about Vetted Identity?
Darth Vader. No, really! Brett Nemeroff, VP of Engineering, Voice of Numeracle, was putting together a slide deck for the company’s masterclass series, on caller ID when Darth Vader called. That was the name being displayed as the incoming call on the Brett’s phone. Brett answered the call, where Mr. Vader graciously explained that he’s a real estate broker, that, with non-telecom engineering skills, simply logged into his account and set his name as Darth Vader. “It just underscores the problem with caller-Id, that it’s not a source we can trust,” says Nemeroff. “It does not take a tremendous amount of technical competence to figure out how to change your name and to ultimately how to change it to something that might make it more likely to get answered by somebody.”
In this podcast, Brett discusses how this degradation of the caller-ID service has impacted the utility of by phone communications. Basically, people have lost trust in being able to know who’d calling. That, combined with an ocean of nuisance and scam calls, has devastated the utility of simple outbound calling as a way of communicating.
“It all starts with KYC, Know Your Customer,” says Brett.
Brett discusses guidance on understanding and defending privacy and security in a world of continuous changes and challenges, as well as the responsibilities and roles in this defense. We get insights into how Numeracle's Entity Identity Management™ (EIM) and Verified Identity™ associate and manage the identity of communications, supporting evolving regulations and standards. Brett offers a perspective on the future of phone calls and the telecommunications industry, including an understanding of how to progress forward with expertise and integrity
Numeracle is an industry pioneer and leader with actionable solutions for legal callers that prioritizes their calling identity as the foundation to restoring trust in the voice channel and to their calls by removing barriers, like improper spam labels, from harming their phone numbers. Numeracle's Entity Identity Management™ (EIM) platform puts enterprise brands, BPOs, and service providers in direct control of their identity, which we vet and verify. Our EIM platform can also be used to manage branded communications, to improve call reputation with blocking and labeling prevention and spam label remediation, and we provide visibility into call display to ensure brand identity is presented as intended, with transparency and consistency. Our KYC-based identity vetting and verification is the cornerstone of the platform; developed in support of evolving federal regulations and telecom standards.

  • How Can You Become a White-Label VoIP Reseller? Special SkySwitch Podcast
“To me, the biggest benefit is customer ownership,” says Sean Breeden, SkySwitch’s Director of Channel Sales. “In our world you own the customer, the customer signs direct contract with you, you dictate the longevity of those agreements.” In this podcast, Sean makes the case for becoming a white-label reseller, and the opening argument is control. By controlling the relationship, a channel company is protected from changes of things such as commission, or where a provider might seek to deal directly with the customers. Sean points out the SkySwitch doesn’t pay commissions. SkySwitch sells services wholesale. The partner decides for themselves pricing. “You control your profitability.”
Sean notes that SkySwitch offers minimal entry barriers, which fade to zero if the channel company sells as little as 100 end points. With some minimums achieved, a company is a position to sell services with a high margin, especially in the recurring income model. Data MSPs can easily add voice services with SkySwitch. “If you can drag and drop, click on a radio button, that’s a s much sophistication that goes into it,” Sean comments on the simplicity of setting up on the SkySwitch GUI. We learn about the on-boarding process, and the sales support that occurs after launching.
“If you’re looking to increase your book value, this model is good for you.” The contracts that put a partner in control simply creates owner equity.

  • SHAKEN without the EARTHQUAKE, ECG Podcast
You don’t want to do blocking on STIR/SHAKEN data. We’re not there yet. That’s the big message in this podcast. Mark Lindsey at ECG tells us that, “You don’t want to cause an Earthquake by doing the right thing.” Mark and his team consulted with their colleagues at Microsoft Teams, and our relationships at major STIR/SHAKEN software providers Neustar (part of TransUnion), TransNexus, and Sansay.  This gave them insight into the data and wisdom of many engineers and managers at major service providers and at software firms. The undisputed result is this: Every expert recommends against blocking based on SHAKEN data available today. Now this was a little surprising: the very companies that are most likely to benefit from using the STIR/SHAKEN data are saying "woah -- you have to hold off!"
This podcast gives us a first look at longer presentation Mark will make: SHAKEN without the EARTHQUAKE" to be presented at SIP Forum's SIPNOC meeting, September 12-14, 2023, in Herndon, Virginia.
We learn more about ECG’s approach to this situation. ECG gives Service Providers the temporary experts they need to make their networks effective and compliant for all kinds of Voice Service Provider projects. It's critical for Service Provider leadership to audit to verify STIR/SHAKEN implementation is working. And if you're relying on a Third-Party Certificate company to sign your calls for you, there's every reason to believe that practice will be blocked by the FCC soon. You need a way to protect your customers against spam calls, without creating an outage when you do it. ECG can work with your engineering team to find and implement protection against spam calling. If your calls are flowing through TDM-only PSTN Gateways, many of the calls made by your customers will likely be labeled as "Spam Likely." You need to look at ways to get better SIP interconnection to protect your customers and your core business.
