  • Podcast: Enterprise mobility for frontline workers
The COVID-19 pandemic has called into question many of the work practices that we considered standard, driving a surge in remote working. Aside from providing new safety features and requirements for lone and remote workers, Julien Bertheuil, Managing Director at Spectralink Europe, analyzes the role played by enterprise mobility devices helping businesses, especially in retail, logistics and healthcare improve productivity, decision making and safety with real-time, crystal-clear communications.

  • Podcast: Jabra and Barco align to re-imagine the conference experience
Video conferencing is not new, but in 2020 it went mainstream in manner unimaginable just twelve months ago. This is the distance from being something, some companies used to do, to be a work-related activity that is so widespread, its being portrayed on Saturday Night Live and on TV commercials. Looking beyond the way companies are currently utilizing conferencing, Jabra and Barco have formed an alliance to take the conferencing experience to a new level. In this podcast Justin Bauer, Alliance Business Development Manager-East, at Jabra and Dave Fitzgerald, VP of Alliances at Barco discuss how the partnership brings Jabra’s superior audio and video solutions, including the Jabra PanaCast camera and Jabra Speak speakerphones, to Barco’s ClickShare plug-and-play wireless conferencing technology, allowing users to turn any room into a collaborative workspace. We learn about how the companies have researched the market and have formed a view of the post-pandemic future. Their research has shown there will be a mix of in-office and remote workers and video conferencing will play a larger role in meetings as less people are present in the office. With this in mind, businesses must be prepared to adapt any space into a meeting room and must invest in the technology that allows them to do so. Fitzgerald and Bauer see their alliance and their combined offering as a new chapter in making the video conference the productive meeting space it promises to be.

  • Podcast: A 2014 prediction hits home in 2020, as Poly’s Director of UC Strategy and Research looks beyond a year of upheaval
    The David Danto 2021 Predictions

2020 threw us all a collective curveball. And while some organizations were able to quickly operationalize a remote work system and provide tools for their employees who are able to work remotely, there is still much to be done to ensure a smooth business continuity for most. For organizations like Poly (NYSE: PLT), who have led the industry in audio and video and cloud collaboration for years, they innately understand the role that the right headsets, video devices and cloud agnostic tools have on producing the best work, from anywhere. Today, I speak with David Danto, Director of UC Strategy & Research at Poly, who walks me through his predictions for 2021, including how the UC game is finally catching up to its wide-scale potential. He also discusses the domino effect that we’ll continue to see in terms of what the traditional “office” footprint is going to look like, the impact on real estate and development, what long-term investments companies should be making when it comes to their technologies and working environments, and what he thinks about what some call, “the death of the phone”. We also discuss the implications of 5G and what enterprise managers need to know in order to expertly manage remote systems and tools from afar, as well as take a peek into the past as David eerily harkens back to a blog he wrote in 2014 about what organizations should do in the case of a pandemic-related shut down.
