  • Podcast: LastPass simplifies security while expanding and increasing personal and business security measures
The days of forgetting your password and worrying about your data are all over. LastPass is a savior to over 25 million people. Randy Fahrbach, Director, North American Channel, LogMeIn explains LastPass to Don Witt of The Channel Daily News, a TR publication. The product addresses 80% of the business data breaches accounting for $3.9 million dollars per breach.

With work-from-home a now well-established part of current and future business, attempts to breach security is up by 148%.  Businesses cannot ignore this issue and must take corrective action to avoid the “not if” but “when” the intrusion will occur.

    Randy Fahrbach

Leading in security - As a password manager, their first priority is safeguarding your data. They’ve built LastPass so that they never have the key to your account.

Strong encryption algorithms - They’ve implemented AES-256 bit encryption with PBKDF2 SHA-256 and salted hashes to ensure complete security in the cloud. You’ll create a password manager account with an email address and a strong master password to locally-generate a unique encryption key.

Local-only encryption - Your data is encrypted and decrypted at the device level. Data stored in your vault is kept secret, even from LastPass. Your master password, and the keys used to encrypt and decrypt data, are never sent to LastPass’ servers, and are never accessible by LastPass.

Multifactor authentication adds extra security to your LastPass account by requiring a second login step before authorizing access to your vault.

  • Podcast: Creating Optimal Voice Cost Structures
According to Chris Lee, the CEO of Cloud Age Solutions, carriers today need to look both at costs and revenue to maximize profit. While that may sound simple enough, maximizing value requires automation and a method of figuring out the best way to get the most revenue from every transaction. In this podcast, Lee outlines the "Golden Triangle" for a successful service - Cost, Quality, Reliability. “All traffic is NOT created equal,” Lee says, as he urges the carriers to take a closer look at traffic and billing. Part of the picture might be to blend multiple carrier decks that offer lower costs and better resiliency. Developing optimal cost routing guides (I/B and O/B) leveraging multiple carriers to drive cost reductions and increased carrier reliability, and automation are also part of the story. Lee conveys real world examples of success stories and describes how Cloud Age Solutions and SaaS Telecom Lifecycle Management application gpxcloud, can help make cost and revenue management a doable goal.

  • Podcast: Flowroute APIs help resellers offer unique experiences, cut costs
According to Flowroute Business Development Manager Evan Griffiths, APIs offer a path for both growth and savings. At a time when many companies are thinking about an environment occupied by so-called “cloud giants”, APIs offer resellers the ability to attack both sides of the balance sheet. Perhaps more importantly, Griffiths outlines a path to retaining a competitive qualitative edge by using APIs to empower “at-the-edge” communications, including contactless customer service. Griffiths discusses how APIs help create solutions that match the needs of the moment, but can also scale to match changing customer requirements, changing business conditions of both right sizing in some sectors, and growth in others. We learn how along the way, we can offer customer experiences that can help the enterprise brand itself distinctively and enable the channel and reseller community to offer unique products that are not so easily matched by mass marketed cloud communications.
