Dean Wells is a skateboarder, creative, and former (somewhat controversial) reality TV show star. This week, I join Dean in his studio on the northern beaches of Sydney to discuss his life so far. Dean shares about his family's move from England to Australia, their humble beginnings in the western Sydney suburb of Auburn, their re-location to the city of Newcastle, why he got into skateboarding, surfing, and making music, being asked to be a participant on reality TV show Married at First Sight, why he was subsequently portrayed as a villain on the show, political insights, mainstream media agendas, finding his faith, and much much more. Intelligent, well-spoken and opinionated, it was a pleasure getting to know Dean.

Legendary professional Australian Skateboarder, Mick Mulhall joins me for an in-person chat, live from his home in Five Dock, Sydney Australia this week. I'm joined by special guest co-hosts, and longtime friends of Mick, Darren Kaehne and Billy Harris. We commune with Mick at a delicate time in his life,  with the recent passing of his mother, combined with the arduous task of packing up, and selling the family home they have owned for over 50 years. Mick takes us on a journey through his life of skateboarding and creativity. He discusses finding skateboarding in the late 70's, life growing up in the inner west of Sydney, being the only skateboarder at school, being bullied by jocks and teachers for being 'different', his parent's divorce, fundamentally being raised by a single mother, his love for Keirle Park vert ramp even though the transitions were put on upside down, Fairfield vert and mini-ramp days, John Finlay stories, travelling Europe with Chad Ford and Wade Burkitt, his love for the Manly Blades Aerial Assult team, that time he broke his jaw learning 540s at the old Five Dock, the friendships and life-long connections he has made through skateboarding, getting sponsored, designing his first pro-model, back-to-back 8 foot backside airs, method airs (that are personally engrained in my memory), and much much more.
Being in that house with Mick, surrounded by his epic collection of (original) skate memorabilia felt truely special.
I feel honoured to present this conversation to you.

Craig Martin is a former Military Paratrooper who has completed multiple overseas deployments to locations throughout his long career, including locations such as Afghanistan and East Timor. In this week's episode, Craig discusses what it's like to be shot at in combat, living in a war zone, celebrating his 21st birthday in Afghanistan, the challenges of integrating back into civilian life, his passion for hard physical training, healing modalities such as cold therapy, his professional MMA fights, fighting above his weight-class, his childhood growing up in rural Australia, controlled and uncontrolled violence, the importance of loyalty and mate-ship, his love for his children and much much more.
Tough on the exterior, sincere and kind on the inside, Craig's willingness to be vulnerable is the true measure of his strength in my opinion.

This week I speak with former professional skateboarder, exceptional artist, husband and father, Mr Sidney Tapia. Sid joins me live from his Art Gallery in Brisbane, Australia, to take us on a deep, authentic, and often raw journey, through his life so far.  Sid reflects on his tumultuous childhood and teens years, the challenges of being a child of migrant parents who divorced when he was 3 years of age, finding art as his place of solace, navigating a liveable income as a sponsored skateboarder in the 90s, being contracted to draw murals for sports organisations such as the NRL and the UFC,  his innate desire to be of service to others, finding his faith in God, and much much more.
Despite Sid's rich history in Skateboarding, we don't really talk much about it in this episode. I assume this will be disappointing to some, however, his charismatic tales of redemption, hope and love, are much more engaging and enriching in my opinion. He analyses the human condition we all endure with vigour. He strips back the layers, sifts through the shit, and comes out clean on the other side...Just for today anyway.   
I love this episode. And I love Sid. You will too.

This week, past guest, Psychologist, and Jui Jitsu enthusiast Mark Baxter joins me along with Artist, Curator of the Sporulation Psychedelic Art Festival, and Exercise Physiologist Melissa Errey. The three of us have an open conversation about mental health, it's inevitable fluctuations, trauma, and beyond. Melissa shares elements of her personal story which is brave and appreciated. Mark weighs in to address the news around the TGA's re-scheduling of Psilocybin and MDMA for Psychedelic Assisted Therapy and the reality of it's accessibility and gradual integration. The conversations goes off on a variety of different tangents, however, to summate, both Mel and Mark are passionate about improving positive mental health outcomes for people. It's that simple. Yes, there is much talk about the use of Psychedelics, their potential benefits, potential harms. It's an education, so listen with an open heart and an open mind.

This week I catch-up with one of my personal favourite Australian Skateboarders, Mr Darren Kaehne. Darren and I have a relaxed, yet long conversation, at his house in Mona Vale on the Northern Beaches of Sydney Australia. Darren shares about his early years growing-up, finding a sincere passion for Skateboarding, meeting his wife, starting a family, and everything in between. We reflect a lot on the Australian skate scene in the 90s which was fun, but mainly we philosophise, and go off on a variety of random tangents. It was an enjoyable blur of a conversation. I loved it.
Some might say Darren is a gifted Skateboarder (which I agree with), however, he is also someone who has literally never stopped. He's been doing it for 35 years (plus). Never one to chase the spotlight, never one to expect anything from it, just pure love, and when you watch him skate, this is abundantly clear.
There is an endearing sensitivity to Darren that I really liked. He attributes a healthy lifestyle, gratitude, presence, and non-attachment to the past, as values that have allowed him the longevity that he now enjoys with his skateboarding.
At 47 years of age he is still ripping. Be sure to check-out the edit I put together of our post-podcast skate. Darren literally stacked about 3 minutes worth of quality footage in the space of a couple of hours at Mona Vale Skatepark...You'll be inspired.

Jeffery Olsen and his son Spencer, are Near Death Experience survivors of a car accident that took the lives of Jeffery's first wife, and Spencer's mother, Tamara and Jeffery's son (Spencer's brother), Griffin. To add to the trauma of the event, Jeffery's leg was amputated in the process, he broke his back, endured eighteen surgeries, and five months in an Intensive Care Unit. In this week's episode, Jeffery and Spencer share the details of their lives prior and post accident, their ongoing navigation of grief, loss and acceptance, their journey of hope, enlightenment, and the healing gift that is Jeffery's second wife, Tonya and the children they now have together.
There is a trigger warning for this episode, as Jeffery and Spencer courageously recount the day of the accident in explicit detail, and their comparative experience with it. Compellingly, Jeffery discusses the subsequent Out-of-Body Experience he had in the immediate moments post accident, an experience he describes as profoundly vivid, in which he was able to converse with his deceased wife, as they floated in a ball of light. Her instruction to him in that moment was simple and clear: "You need to go back and raise our son so he is not orphaned".
The event that Jeffery and Spencer endured on that day was tragic. However, it is overpowered by hope and love. Twenty six years later, you will see two humans that are enriched, at peace, and in their own words, "refusing to be victims".

Jarrett Wilbraham is a professional MMA fighter and past guest. This week he joins me remotely to check in, discuss his recent title fight in Melbourne, and in true Jarrett fashion, we get deep into his ongoing healing journey. Despite being an absolute savage in the Octagon, Jarrett is a deeply sensitive, and empathetic human who attributes much of his healing journey to his conscious use of psychedelics, supporting family and friends and training at an elite level. 
The conversation goes on a variety of tangents, we talk about:

• His wild fight down in Melbourne as parts of the HEXS promotion. A fight that he dominated, yet lost due to error.
• The losing mindset, learning from defeat and growing from it.
• The role of psychedelics on healing his trauma, and being better for those around him.
• Being part of Alex Volkanovski's UFC284 training camp.
• His financial concerns, making a living from fighting in order to provide and start a family of his own.
