Brent "big Simo" Simpson shares his story of growing up in Sydney amongst violence and alcohol to becoming sergeant at arms for the Bandidos motorcycle club.  He is now the host of "the clink," a podcast aimed at sharing stories of redemption.

Dr Laumua Tunufa'i discusses the overrepresentation of Maori and Pacifica in the youth justice system.

thevoiceofasurvivor.com  Russell Manser is a former bank robber and prison escapee from Mount Druitt.   He shares his story of being sentenced to an infamous boys home at 15, and going to Long bay prison at 16.  Abuses he suffered in these institutions led to a life of Bank robberies, heroin addiction, and a total of over 23 years spent behind bars.  He is now the director of thevoiceofasurvior.com where he helps seek justice for people who have suffered institutional abuse.

Stephanne shares his story of going from bouncing at night clubs, to becoming an associate professor at Swinburne university.  His research looks at culturally and linguistically diverse young people and their involvement in the youth justice system.   He discusses his work at the Parkville youth justice centre, and some of the common threads and background stories of the inmates there. He is also involved with a number of organisations in Melbourne mentoring and guiding at-risk youth.  He also gives advice to any youth workers or groups on the best way to work with young people.  

Today I talk about getting deported from to New Zealand, why the Australian government started deporting us in the first place, and the crimewave that ensued here as a result.  I also talk about where the 501 name came from.

Sherrie shares her testimony of growing up in the south coast of New south whales. By 28 she is a business owner and married with kids.   After moving to Sydney and getting a divorce things take a turn for the worse as she ends up in an abusive relationship with a drug addict.  With her brother she starts transporting large quantities of drugs from NSW to QLD and making a lot of money. She eventually goes to prison for  discharging firearms in public and trafficking methamphetamine.  She has been out for 6 months now, and is in her second year of bible college, ESHAY!  

Luke shares his story of humble beginnings in South Africa, where he was found abandoned at birth in a basket. His new family brought him to New Zealand where upon finding out about his origins, turned to drugs, alcohol, and violence to mask the pain.  He now works for Springboard, an alternative education organisation that helps and mentors troubled youth, and shows them another path instead of the gang/ crime culture that is so prominent here in New Zealand.
