Unified Women’s Super Middleweight World Champion Claressa Shields and unified 154-pound champion Hanna Gabriels Meet Friday night for what will be the biggest woman boxing fight in sometime.

This Saturday in Glasgow, unbeaten junior welterweight prospect Josh Taylor will take on veteran and former titleholder Viktor Postol in a pivotal fight for both men, and the 27-year-old Taylor is hoping that he can put in the sort of performances that makes everyone across the world take notice.

'The Golden Boy' reached out to BoxingScene.com to respond to Spence's comments.

"I have have response to him and to tell him that he's wrong," said De La Hoya, on Wednesday afternoon.

"I strongly believe that a fighter needs a promoter to guide your career. You can have a manager, you can have an adviser. He thinks Showtime is promoting him and that's not the case.

The World Boxing Super Series finally has an American broadcast partner. The Perform Group, noting hard-core boxing fans’ desire for an American outlet, has acquired the rights to the second season of tournaments and will show all three eight-man tournaments on its all-sports DAZN

"You need a promoter to move you along and eventually become a pay-per-view fighter, which he will never be without a promoter."

Case in point, was Oscar's own legendary career which was mapped out by Bob Arum and Top Rank, who developed him into a pay-per-view franchise.

Errol Spence Jr. isn’t calling out Mikey Garcia.

The undefeated IBF welterweight champion made sure that was understood when he was asked Tuesday about possibly boxing Garcia later this year. Yet now that Garcia has brought it up, Spence is intrigued.

“That could happen,” Spence told a small group of reporters during a luncheon at a Manhattan restaurant. “Mikey Garcia is a big name, has a great resume and that fight could definitely happen. We fight on the same network [Showtime], have the same manager [Al Haymon]. Why not make it happen? It could happen.”

Tom Loeffler, promoter for IBO, WBC, WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin, feels very strongly that his fighter's upcoming rematch with Saul "Canelo" Alvarez is the biggest fight in the sport.

Last week, the two sides finalized a deal to stage the rematch on September 15th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Another major fight in the works - is the heavyweight unification between undefeated punchers Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua - with the WBA, WBC, WBO, IBO, IBF world titles at stake.

While some would argue that Joshua-Wilder is the biggest fight in the sport - Loeffler disagrees, and he explains why the Canelo-Golovkin rematch is sitting in the top seat.

Errol Spence Jr wants Jessie Vargas? According to boxingscene, “Ugas is a good fighter,” Spence said. “But like I said, I want big names. I mean, if I was looking at somebody, Jessie Vargas would be in front of Ugas. So like I said, I’m looking for big names. I’m looking for ex-world champions and guys that I can build my legacy on.”

According to Boxingscene and Michael Woods, Bob Arum has this to say, “Amir Khan could be a possibility, I have to talk to him. He’s a free agent if he fights in the US. And I’m sure there are others.” Are we getting Crawford vs Khan next?

Former heavyweight champion Chris Byrd is very impressed with the current heavyweight champions, WBC beltholder Deontay Wilder (40-0, 39 KOs) and IBF, IBO, WBA, WBO unified king Anthony Joshua (21-0, 20 KOs).

The two large heavyweights are in position to fight each other in less than a year.

They are currently working out the details, with the contest scheduled to take place by the end of the year or in the first quarter of 2019.

Byrd believes Wilder's weakness is his inability to handle pressure.
