Doctor Beverley joins us to talk about the celebration of the longest day in many different Witchcraft traditions. Inspired by a listener question, we explore the role of Covens in a Witch’s Magickal practice, including how to start or find one, and the challenges common to Coven work. We express our disappointment over J.K. Rowling’s most recent remarks and re-visit Kanani’s revulsion to kale. Is Mercury in Retrograde destroying your abilities to communicate? Is it bad to get married during a Venus Retrograde? Don't fear the Retrograde! Author and astrologer Lisa Jade walks us through the upcoming planetary transits, including discussing what a Retrograde is, how to make the best use of the upcoming Retrogrades in both your Magick and your life, and why the planets may be encouraging a revolution. Hilary discusses the Magickal use of mugwort and Kanani reviews "Labyrinth," gaining haters all over the world. Plus, we have a surprise visit from a fellow (and highly indignant) podcast host!
Magick is Queer! Hey, Queer people have been part of Magick since Magick began. Author Misha Magdalene joins us to talk about the connection between Magick and gender and sexuality in the Witchcraft world, which is often a hetero-normative environment. We also discuss ways to help others during this painful time. We are angry, we are sad, but we are not silent.) Have we met our doppelgänger??? If so, it’s Paige Vanderbeck of The Fat Feminist Witch Podcast, who joins us to talk about walking an untraditional Witchcraft path. Spoiler alert: this episode is full of rabbit holes, which include the intangible in Witchcraft, speaking with Spirits, crossing “The Quarantine Line,” and Sasquatch. Also, Hilary is mad because Courtney and Kanani won’t let her open her birthday presents early. Audio transcript to follow. It’s a different kind of Bealtaine for all of us! Your favorite Witches discuss how to celebrate the festive Sabbat while still practicing social distancing. Special guest Thorne Davis joins us to discuss suggestions for a solo-Bealtaine and shares how the pandemic has affected the deaf and hard of hearing communities. They also give us a 101 on working with pendulums. Kanani reviews “The Wicker Man” and may never forgive Courtney, ever. ASL interpretation provided by Mel DeLeon and Grace Totherow.
Thorne Davis was born and raised native to the Pacific Northwest in Portland, Oregon. Thorne’s pronouns are they/them and he/him. Their family of origin was hearing and religious and their parents divorced when they were young (a whole other story there!). They grew up with all the “isms”: homophobia, etc, among many things. Born deaf, Thorne grew up bilingual in both Sign Language and English. They first came out around 22 to 23 years old, at the same time as they were questioning a lot related to spirituality and religion. During the beginning of the middle of their Saturn return, their innate magic woke up in some pretty major ways and there was no turning back. Thorne’s first steps were Tarot and then onwards to different paths, modalities, etc. There is a constant journey of unfolding and discovery of self and who they are. Thorne is a Gemini sun, Leo rising, and Cancer moon creature person. Several of their identity layers are Super Fae, As They Come, Witchy Magical, Queer, Queer AF, Poly-hearted, Gender-fluid, Trans Masculine, Two Spirit, Walk Between, Pansexual, and so on. Thorne is a total Astro nerd among other things, too. They’re active in a couple of community intersecting spaces, including the Queer and Deaf communities. Email Thorne or follow them on Instagram. Their website is www.spiritoracle.com.

Hey, guess what? This is an episode you can listen to with your kiddos because we watch our language and everything! Today, Kanani’s daughter Soleil joins us to discuss introducing your children to Witchcraft. She answers listener questions including, what is it like to be a child Witch? How does a child practice Magick? What can children do when teased or bullied for being Witches? Other topics include working through grief, prank calls, and Greyhound bus horror stories.
Long before she was born, Soleil made herself known to both her mother (Kanani) and her Auntie Coco (Courtney) via various messages and encounters. Born in Portland OR , Soleil has grown up in an environment with spiritual activity that has sometimes has scared her. She is interested in learning about meditation, Magick and the Fair Folk. At 9 years old, she has had ghost and fairy encounters and is learning how to react to these sightings. She is currently a BPSA Scout, learning about nature and conservation. She is also interested in soccer, dance, crafts and listening to music. Her favorite phrase is “stay strong and be calm.” #mymomwon’tletmeoninsta
