Winter has not yet officially started and yet folks around the world are finding themselves snowed in. Take the 60 people who went to see an "Oasis" cover band in England on a Friday and didn't leave until Monday. Or the shoppers in Denmark who involuntarily slept inside an IKEA. Spoiler alert: none seemed to mind and many seemed to enjoy the whole experience. We also cover the Italian dentist who fit himself with a prosthetic arm to get a vaccine and the woman who sued for being born...and won.
Plus we discuss the holiday film, "The Family Man". This sliding doors story tugged at both Anne and Crissy's heartstrings (and that doesn't happen often). And it is 1000 times better than the film they almost went with, Henry Winkler's "An American Christmas Carol". Henry Winkler is a national treasure, this production is decidedly not. But there is a great 10 minutes with a disco Dorian Harewood that is worth the time.
The countdown to Christmas is on and we're fa la la-ing all the way!
Thank you for listening!

First, the good news! We got our annual Spotify Wrapped results and we are happy to report that our listeners were up 35% this year. So thank you for listening and spread the word so next year we can continue at this impressive pace!
Plus, this week ponder this proposition: Go to a brothel, get a vaccine shot? The equivalent of reading Playboy for the articles is a reality in Europe. Now that's solving two problems (low vaccination rates, low brothel business) with one shot. Plus there's a creek in Hawaii that could leave you impaired and a grandma was kicked out of a hotel in the middle of the night. Find out why!
And we kick off our 12 days of Muldoon with a surprisingly good movie, "Holiday Road Trip". Once Crissy got past the lead actress's very distracting eyebrows, this veritable who's who of sitcoms past will have you laughing right along with it. And of course, Anne has nothing but love for Muldoon and his sidekick, Scoots the dog. This is truly one that could snap you right out of your holiday blues.
Thank you again for your support!

This week Anne and Crissy came up with their list of "Top 10 Movies to be Thankful For". Not to be confused with favorite movies, this is a list of movies that they will stop what they are doing to sit down and watch. And what a delightful list it is - both Anne and Crissy were inspired by each other's lists to check out some of the movies mentioned this weekend. And since recording, they have been adding to their lists ("Analyze This", "Finding Nemo", "The Other Guys", "Look Who's Talking", "Casablanca" - it keeps on going). This is one that will stick with you!
Also, they discuss the Elf on the Shelf phenomenon, a Brinks truck that literally scattered cash all over a California highway, and the big discovery that a Guinness Book of World Records Day exists! This Guinness story is like an onion - we've only just begun to peel back the layers.
So on your drive home this weekend, take a few minutes to listen to this one. It will definitely get you thinking about what movies would be on your Thankful list.
And lastly a huge thanks to you, our listeners. We are certainly thankful for you!

Ask yourself this: if you found a 6 year's old lost teddy bear in Glacier Park, cold, wet and abandoned and you took that bear in and made it your own, only to find out whose bear it is months later, would you return it? That is the question a park ranger grappled with this fall. Anne says he'd had to be a sociopath not to return it. But did he?
Plus, we welcome to the podcast our great friend, Liz. Liz weighs in on our other news story about a Christmas tree farm whose unique marking "spin" went viral.
And then we got to the real reason we had Liz on the show - to discuss John Cusack films. Only we decided to watch "Less Than Zero" instead, a film without John Cusack. This was the first time Crissy and Liz had seen the film, Anne watched it as a child multiple times and still no one called Child Services. See what they have to say about this Brat Pack film and so much more.
Open up the cabinet, 'cause it's time to dish!

This week we revisit the iconic 80's film, "St. Elmo's Fire". The nostalgia factor is at an all-time high with this one. Though not being a teenager watching it brings up some startling revelations - like did you recall that Emilio Estevez's character is basically an unhinged stalker?
Plus, if your toilet breaks in outer space, who do you call? And look who's delivering your pizza! It's not who you'd expect.
This was definitely a fun one. Take a listen!

This Guinness Book of World Records thing is really catching on. This week we comment on a magazine's list of the most ridiculous records in the book. See if you think they top the list or if you've heard worse. Plus, a man leaves for a night out on the town and winds up in a search party for himself (this is a good one!)
And do you know which movie was the debut for Andrew McCarthy, John Cusack and Virginia Madsen? If you said the 1983 film, "Class" you would be right and you would have also read the header to this description. So congratulations on both counts. Listen to what Anne and Crissy have to say about this film that seems conflicted about itself - and the comparisons made to "Blame it on Rio". There is a lesson here for us all.
Thank you for listening!

There were a lot of Halloween happenings to unpack this week. First the news landed us in New Zealand where the official Wizard of Christchurch couldn't conjure a spell good enough to save his job. Then we talked about a playboy playmate who claims that Hef is haunting her. And Anne and Crissy get into a hot debate over who is the sexiest monster. Anne apparently loves a man in a cape and Crissy, not so much.
And finally we welcome back to the podcast, animator/showrunner extraordinaire, Aaron Augenblick. Aaron picked "Killer Klowns from Outer Space" to discuss but also "jotted down" a bunch of lists to pour over as well. Can you venture a guess as to his top 5 clown films? And who does everyone agree was the best clown of all time? You'll have to listen to find out.
What a way to wrap up our month of Halloween. Enjoy!

This week we feature, Jack, our resident expert on all things horror films. Jack has taken a deep dive into the world of scary films and has come up with his list of "must-sees". Would you believe the film he finds the scariest stars an actress from "All My Children"? Now that was a surprise I didn't see coming.
Take a listen - but make sure you have the lights on and the doors locked. This is not for the faint of heart (but then again, Crissy is on it so it can't be that bad).

We've had some outrageous stories on this podcast but this one might take the (wedding) cake! Let's just say you might think twice before asking a friend to take your wedding photos and might think even more about accepting.
Plus, the house that inspired "The Conjuring" is for sale and we review the classic film, "The Monster Squad". Perhaps you are like me and went to see Kiefer Sutherland in "The Lost Boys" instead but "The Monster Squad" has gained quite a following in the 30+ years since it's release. Maybe there's hope for this podcast yet :)
Thank you for listening!

October is upon us and "That's Outrageous" is fully in the mood of the season. This week we take a deep dive into the 1978 classic horror film, "Halloween". Anne describes this as her "comfort" film, Crissy had never seen it making for a very interesting discussion. Does the film hold up over time? Has Crissy changed her tune about horror films in general? You'll have to listen to find out!
This episode is both a trick and a treat. Enjoy!
