That's Outrageous episodes

  • Season 2 ep 36: The cat, the lawyer, the hobbit and John Cusack

Imagine seeing Michael Myers walking along the beach during a hurricane...imagine seeing a hobbit happily dozing on a haybale in Italy...and imagine your cat walks in the front door after you thought you cremated him.  These are all real stories that happened in the last week and the only place you'll hear anyone talking about them is right here with "That's Outrageous"!

We also talk about the 80s film, "One Crazy Summer" where John Cusack goes to great lengths to help save Demi Moore's family home, despite the fact that there is zero chemistry between them. But more importantly, we also discuss which John/Jon we would choose - Cusack or Hamm. Who would you choose?

Let us know and thank you for listening!

  • Season 2 Episode 35: The return of Muldoon, the spite house and MORE Guinness Book of World Records set

For those of you keeping track, (and if you're not, why aren't you?), there were 3 new Guinness Book of World Records set this past week. Crissy tees all 3 up for Anne to see if she's impressed with any of them. One might be tempted to say the whole endeavor is for the birds had it not been for a dog and cat duo making the list!

And we just had to return to the filmography of the patron saint of the podcast, Patrick Muldoon. This week we watched the NBC movie, "Deadly Pursuits" starring Mr. Muldoon and a very young Tori Spelling. Nothing's getting past these two as they attempted to solve the mystery of who killed Patrick's mother and sister. It's classic Muldoon in every way. And are those real sparks we see between Muldoon and Spelling??

    Thank you for listening!

  • Season 2 Episode 34: Like for sure, totally, it's "Valley Girl"!

If you want to treat yourself to 99 mins of a bitchin' to the max good time, then sit yourself down down for "Valley Girl". This 1983 classic had Anne and Crissy longing for days lost at the mall shopping for bad clothes and checking out rad dudes. (OK, Crissy was likely shopping for rainbow mobiles but Anne was doing the other stuff). Nicolas Cage in his first starring role is all charm and hair products. And almost 40 years on, Crissy was able to surprise Anne with some movie trivia she did not know (that is hard to do).

Plus, we talk about the winners of this year's Ig Nobel Prize (ignoble - get it?). Anne has big feelings about this one. And find out why a marathon winner wound up a loser and what a fearless cat is doing at a Miami football stadium.

Now excuse us while we put a scrunchie in our permed hair and hop a flight to the Valley. It's going to be gnarly!

  • Season 2 episode 33: This movie is truly outrageous!

There was a lot to talk about this week. It seems the world has gone Guinness Book crazy as there were no fewer than 3 (that we know of) records made in the last 7 days. The big question is why? The bigger question is: how do we get in on it? Plus, a woman used a fake vaccine card to get into Hawaii, James Corden is annoying everybody and Barbie is getting a big makeover.

And then of course, there's this week's movie: the Bruce Willis/Jane March erotic thriller, "Color of Night." Not only does this movie fall into Anne's favorite film genre, but it also was given the award for "best sex scene ever" by Maxim magazine. Somehow this movie slipped by Crissy in 1994 but now she'll never forget it.

This is truly a fun one. Hope you enjoy!

  • Season 2 episode 32: He hopped his way to a hernia, Seattle's airport gets a raw deal and more

At "That's Outrageous" we are always baffled by people's attempts at making the Guinness Book of World Records. This week was no exception as we learn about a man's ambitions involving long distance hoppity-hopping. Then there's the person who thought it was a good idea to pack raw chicken in their checked suitcase. What could go wrong? Pretty much everything. And the only one exhibiting any sense was an Irish walrus who just wanted to find a place to chill out.

Plus, we talk about the 80s cult classic, "Clue". It's got an all-star cast and 3 different endings. Which one would you choose?

    Thank you for listening!

  • Season 2 episode 31: We're back, back to the 80s

Anne and Crissy are delighted to be back with our latest podcast. This week we discuss unique gifts that an enterprising rice shop in Japan created, a bank robber who loses points, and money, for penmanship and a UK bloke who got a kick out of calling a help line. There's a clue there.

Also, we review the beloved 80s film "Real Genius" and give a special shout-out to the current Val Kilmer documentary. Interesting fellow, that Val.

Thank you so much for listening!

  • That's Outrageous BIG anniversary show: The Muldoons!

It's our one year anniversary and we are pulling out all the stops! To celebrate this past year, we present: "The Muldoons", the only award show dedicated to the antics of "That's Outrageous".

Anne and Crissy have spent hours creating categories, hotly debating the nominees and coming up with our list of the best of the best of this past year. Biggest Muldoon (Best Muldoon movie), Biggest Non-Muldoon Muldoon (Best Movie without Patrick Muldoon), Biggest Mul-don't (Worst Movie), Most Outrageous News Stories are just a few of the awards to be given out.

If you are on the edge of your seat, you are not alone. It's a pod packed with special guests, shocking surprises and of course, lots of Muldoon. Thanks to all who participated - we truly appreciate it!

This one is going to be FUN!

  • Season 2 episode 29: The movie you forgot you liked

The Olympics kick off tomorrow (maybe) but we are kicking them off today with a look back at the 1986 film, "American Anthem". This forgotten gem starring former Olympian, Mitch Gaylord is an 80s delight from start to finish. Sure no one in it can act and the guy who looks like "Simply Red" is inexplicably emotive but if you want lots of synthesizer, lots of greased up bare chests and lots of overly dramatic confrontations that lead to more greased up bare chests, then you really need to sit down and revisit this movie. It is an hour and 40 mins of time well spent.

Plus we talk about the mac and cheese ice cream craze sweeping the nation, the spicy job where you can make some fast cash (sounds way more elicit than it is) and you've heard of snakes on a plane...how about under your bed?

We're going for the gold this week - hope you enjoy!

  • Season 2 episode 28: Everybody loves Bill Murray

Is it me or is it either blazing hot or raining? Or blazing hot and raining? Why not cool off inside with a listen to "That's Outrageous"? This week we discuss a real estate bargain (with a catch - there's always a catch), a sticky bike situation in Philly, a couple with a very unique method of trying to salvage their relationship and an Ohio man who is unwittingly campaigning for an Darwin award.

Plus Crissy chooses the film "Kingpin" based on it's classification as an under-appreciated film. Will she agree? One thing is for certain, Bill Murray is an absolute delight in this film (and all films).

  • Season 2 Episode 27: Advice from Anne

Ever find yourself on a ride at Disney with an irresistible urge for a bit of green vegetable goodness? Ever get so irritated at a neighbor that you cut down half of their tree? Ever been curious to see a display of stuffed frogs in a classic schoolroom setting? Well your fellow humans have found themselves in these very situations and Anne and Crissy weigh in on their mostly bad behavior.

Plus, Anne offers up advice on some real life situations. Think Dear Abby but with lots of expletives.

We hope you enjoy and thank you for listening!
