This week is all about the unexpected: Anne reveals what skill is on her bucket list, a herd of cows escape from a slaughterhouse and are unexpectedly rescued by a famous songstress, a man shows up to claim his lottery prize in a really unexpected outfit and who would expect there to be a black market for green nuts? Plus the serious health risks posed by energy drinks - maybe that one is not so unexpected.

And we watched the cult classic, "Clifford" with Martin Short and Charles Grodin. As per usual, Anne and Crissy had strikingly different views of the this film and we invite you to take our poll to see what you think: cult classic or classically creepy?

Summer is here and with it our list of our top summer movies of all time!  Anne is breaking all the top 10 rules by refusing to be limited to 10. She also refuses to nominate movies that are actually any good. But as we've learned on this podcast, "good" is a very subjective term.  There are a few that make both Anne and Crissy's lists and are definitely worth a summer re-watch.

Plus, this week we're all about weird science (not on the list). We discuss how a pork burrito took down a US Olympian, how antidepressants in the water are making crayfish bolder and how scientists are teaching drones to hunt down human screams.

In honor of Father's Day, this week we welcome onto the podcast our husbands, Mike (Anne) and Camp (Crissy). The gents were game to take part in a "Newlywed" style game based on the movie, "Mr. Mom". Like the famous obstacle course race scene, one couple ran away with this one while the other was tripped up by each other.

Plus, we discuss the fisherman who got swallowed by a whale (true story), the dog who survived a car crash and started a second career as a herder, a 93 year old man who got his high school diploma and the woman who gave birth to 10 children.

We are beyond thrilled that Drew Droege joined us this week! So thrilled in fact, that we neglected to introduce ourselves or name check the podcast in the episode. But rest assured, no one has tried to imitate us...yet.

Drew weighs in on the on-going saga of the Kazakhstani bodybuilder who married a sex doll, divorced her and married two others. Plus, we discuss the little known Rita Wilson/Victor Garber movie, "Invisible Child". When Drew referenced this film in his one-man Off Broadway show a few years back, Anne knew she met her Lifetime soul mate. We think you'll agree, there's only one word to describe this plotline and it is "outrageous".

This week we welcome to our podcast fellow podcaster, Mariah Greenberg. "Dating by Mariah" delves into the world of dating after divorce and believe us, she does not hold back. Mariah joined us to discuss the film, "Enough Said" with the late great James Gandolfini and Julia Louis-Dreyfuss. We got her perspective on the film but more importantly, we dug into her experiences in the dating world. You will definitely want to hear her take - you can't make this stuff up. 

We also have an update on one of our FOPs (Friend of the Pod), Marc Meyers. And we cover news on many fronts: a drug dealer who's cheesy photo took him down, an unathletic alligator who set himself free and a continent who has an insane, like insane insane mouse problem.

First up is a rather amusing story about a battle royale for the right to retain the name "Josh". Next, as if you needed someone to tell you this, there is a very good reason not to kiss a chicken. Plus, people are leaving money all over the place, there's something unexpected hanging in a tree in Poland and the story of a cat that truly has nine lives - or at least 2.

As the world begins to open up, us humans are getting out and getting into some interesting situations.  Case in point, the US Congressman who thought a storage bin in the basement of the Capitol would make fine lodgings for his son. Or the woman who was so desperate to get new followers to her Instagram account that she impersonated a high schooler to pass out paper fliers on campus. Or the woman who found a way to solve the problem of dirty dishes by using her countertop as one big plate. Who's hungry?

Plus the irrepressible Patrick Muldoon incorporates physical comedy into his film, "A Horse's Tale". Oh Muldoon, only you could play an accountant tasked with saving a horse farm during Christmas. If I could only count the number of times my accountant has come from Christmas dinner.

In what sounds like the plot of a Patrick Muldoon movie, a woman gave birth on an airplane in the middle of an oceanic flight. But the real kicker here was - she didn't even know she was pregnant. Plus, twin girls get their Christmas wish list fulfilled by a stranger 600 miles away and a couple of policemen get way more than they bargained for when called to the scene of Kid Rock's Big Honky Tonk Rock 'n Roll Steakhouse.

And Anne's son, Nick joins us for a walk down memory lane of "Mortal Kombat" kills. It's always a treat to listen to a mother and son bond over an ominous voice commanding would-be assassins to "finish him!"

In celebration of Mother's Day, we invited on our own mothers to take a mother/daughter quiz. Little did we know the biggest test would be trying to get everyone's audio to work. In the battle of Bev/Anne vs. Sue/Crissy, does mother know daughter best?

Plus, we talk about a Russian man who just wanted out of a Chinese reality competition and a South Korean couple who explored their creative side with disasterous results. 

And we finish up with a review of the 2016 ensemble movie, "Mother's Day" - paying particular attention to Julia Roberts' wig.

This week we cover one of the most outrageous stories, perhaps ever! What started as a simple beauty pageant to be named "Mrs. Sri Lanka" turned into a power hungry spectacle of lies, recriminations and a really bruised scalp. This one truly takes the crown.

Plus, we got suckered into watching "Vanquish" which we thought was a Patrick Muldoon movie. Unfortunately Muldoon only made it into 2 scenes but damn if he didn't give it his Vincent Vega best.
