  • Why do Leaders Micromanage?

We recently surveyed our Founder and Force Multiplier community, and one of the most common concerns from both leaders and their force multipliers was how to get leaders to give up more control and stop micromanaging. A lot of Chiefs of Staff and Executive Assistants are looking to flourish more in their role and help their leaders break free of having to manage every decision. At the same time, leaders themselves know that they should give up more control, but don’t know how to let go. Hallie and I break down what causes leaders to micromanage and how to recognize if you are micromanaging as well. We also shed some light on the cost of micromanaging and why culture is so important to create a space for people to flourish and take chances that can improve effectiveness, happiness, and overall productivity. • BONUS - What's Wrong with This Moment?

Hallie and I came across this great quote: “If you’re feeling down, ask yourself what’s wrong with this moment. Chances are you’re upset about something that happened in the past or you’re anticipating something that might happen in the future. But is there anything wrong in this exact moment? Probably not. So stop worrying. And if there is something wrong with this exact moment, there are 3 things you can do to fix it. You can remove yourself from the situation, you can change it, or you can always accept it.” On today’s bonus episode, we break down this quote, explain what it truly means to “feel down”, and discuss that it’s impossible to live a spiritual life with conditions.

  • How to Live with Purpose and Not Let Your Goals Define You

There’s a great quote by renowned football coach Tony Dungy that says “Goals have a beginning and an end. Purpose doesn’t. Purpose is what we live for.” Hallie and I break down that quote this week and expand on it by talking about the fact that you should definitely set goals, just know you aren’t going to feel any different when you actually hit them. We talk about how the first step is setting a goal, then letting go of the outcome, and how if you're setting the goal to make yourself feel better internally or for ultimate fulfillment, you're doing it the wrong way. We talk about the 200% world that includes 100% outer world and 100% inner world, and how you can play in the physical world and set goals while remaining connected to the inner one. • The 200% Life — Your Inner World vs. Your Outer World

Did you know that you are living in two different worlds? There is the outer world (business) and the inner world (spirituality) and they can coexist. You can be a spiritual seeker AND a business leader who drives a BMW, gets your groceries delivered, and creates Instagram Reels! This week, Hallie and I break down the difference between your inner world and your outer world, and why the distinction between the two is important. We give examples of tuning into our inner world so that the outer one flows more easily, and how just because you do the inner work that doesn’t mean the outer world will necessarily become picture perfect. This is the perfect conversation for understanding the convergence of business and spirituality, and how we can create more ease and less resistance to our outer situation when we really pay attention to our inner one.

  • The One Characteristic Leaders Need Today

This week, Hallie updates us on how she’s faring after a week-and-a-half of no caffeine — and I finally learn the difference between an iced coffee and cold brew! We then talk about one of the most important characteristics a conscious leader can have, and how embracing it can bring more clarity and less attachment to everything you do. We discuss how being able to separate your role (as a business owner, a parent, a coach, etc.) from your identity is essential to being a better leader and living a more fulfilling life, both in your personal world and professional world.

  • What Does Fulfillment Really Mean?

On the outside, fulfillment can look like a certain house, location, amount in your bank account, or even an aspect of your physical appearance. It can be the right car, social group, or career status. However, true fulfillment comes from an inner joy and living a life that is authentically aligned with your honesty. This week, Hallie and I first talk about why maximizing your physical experience is great, but there has to be an inner knowing of why you are doing that, or else it will be a never-ending fleeting goal. We talk about how to know what your true fulfillment looks and feels like, what to do if you feel like you are on the wrong path, and why so many people are starting to wake up now and realize the importance of TRUE fulfillment. • Money, Fame, Power, or Pleasure? What Is Your Idol?

Do you have idols? We're not talking celebrities or mentors - we're talking things you idolize in such a way they influence your decision making. This week, Hallie and I draw our inspiration from New York Times Bestseller, Social Scientist, and Speaker, Arthur Brooks, by talking about the four main idols that drive us subconsciously: money, fame, power, and pleasure. This is a great exercise you can do with your team, your partner, and most importantly — yourself, to give you a better picture of what drives you and guides you to make certain choices. I run through the four idols with Hallie and she talks about her relationship with each one, along with different examples of how idols show up differently in each individual. See full show notes.

  • How To Be More Spiritual and Do Techniques Matter?

We tackle some big questions this week, as Hallie and I explore how we can be more spiritual, and what techniques can get us there. First, we define spirituality and lay the foundation for why embracing spirituality is really about seeking wellness in ourselves first, before we bring it out into the world. Then, Hallie and I talk about our own spiritual practices and what works for us to get past the mind and into our higher consciousness. It’s an enlightening episode; get ready to dive in!
