Spring brings back memories for Hallie about her love of lacrosse, so we start this week by discussing how sports are a great way to start teaching kids about leadership. Then, we talk about the act of noticing: what it really means, what happens when we go through life without noticing, and where to even begin. We also talk about why the worst time for people to make decisions is when they are in an emotionally disturbed state, even if that disturbed state is positive. When you notice your emotions and share them, you can let go of the outcome and step more into the flow. See full show notes.
Entrepreneur and CEO Pamela Savino is one awesome human, and she joins me today for a conversation about spirituality, alignment, and the difference between noticing and awareness. Pamela is the host of The Live Authentically show, where she has honest and practical conversations with guests about small changes we can make to level up our life and consciousness. Pamela shares her rock-bottom moment that led to huge transformations and shifts, and the new mindset she embraced. She talks about how our choices now matter for the quality of our life later, and how appreciation is really the first building block of cultivating awareness. See full show notes.
This week, Hallie and I explore a topic that comes up quite regularly at Project | U, the topic of what you are asking your money to do for you. We talk about the ways that we expect money to give us the emotions we crave, and how to shift your mindset so that you can cultivate joy and enthusiasm within. Hallie and I discuss why people tend to equate money with self-worth and end up going after it for the wrong reason. We dive into some ways of how to enjoy what you do in your day-to-day life, and how the more you live in the moment and are in the flow, the more money will actually come your way. This week we hear from three great Project | U alumni; Matt, Amanda, and Mia about how this year-long transformational coaching experience helped shift their mindset and find more peace in life. Matt dives into how he finally found a morning routine that works best for him, and how his overall greater purpose has expanded. Amanda talks about letting go of the need to control and identify thoughts and feelings in a way that empowered her, and Mia shares how the work changed her interpersonal dynamics and helped her “drop the rope” on negative self talk. We hope you are inspired by these wonderful people as much as we have been. See full show notes.
Where is fear stopping you in your life? This week, I share a story from a ski trip with my son Asher, where he learned a lesson on just how quickly fear can paralyze you and stop you from forward momentum. Hallie and I talk about our own fears and how to navigate through having fears without letting them run your life. Whether it’s speaking up in a meeting, seeing a snake, or making a big life change, fear can take over and keep our mind and body feeling tight and constricted. We talk about the two main ways you can dissolve fear and start to see them as separate things that won’t stop you from getting in your own way. Also, stay tuned until the end for some fun facts on emus! See full show notes.
What do you really need? It’s not what you may think! This week, I add to an idea inspired by Michael Singer’s lecture about Negating Nagging Needs. First, I cover why needs are actually an illness and how we will never find abundance or peace if we are coming from a place of lack or need. I’ll give some easy ways to start to neutralize your needs and even question what would happen if the “worst” was about to happen. You’ll learn why your mind keeps you busy with a never-ending list of needs and how getting energy from a person, job, or accomplishment isn’t the way to freedom. See full show notes.
Teneshia Warner is the Founder and CEO of The EGAMI Group — a multi-million-dollar marketing firm that serves some of today’s biggest and most successful companies. Although she’s on top of the world now, it took a lot of work and a lot of stretching to get there. Teneshia documents this in her new book, The Big Stretch, where she shares the secrets of her own success and her other Dreamers doing big things. Teneshia talks about how her parents’ “no calling to complain on a Sunday” rule became a driving factor in a big “aha” where she saw that she was designing a life to avoid what she didn’t want rather than to be totally purpose-driven. She made up her mind to redesign a life where she allowed purpose and passion to sit in the driver’s seat of her decisions. She talks with us about how to not let fear serve as a stop sign, where dreamers tend to go wrong when stretching, and how to choose a great Dream Champion friend to cheer you along. Warning — this episode may cause you to uplevel your life big time! See full show notes.
When you encounter a problem in life or business, it can be tempting to sweep things under the rug or pretend challenges don’t exist, like when there is trouble with a team member. We do this for many reasons; because we don’t want to deal with having to replace someone, we’re afraid they will quit, or it just seems too daunting to have a tough conversation, especially if they are a high performer. This week, Hallie and I talk about how a large part of leadership is being able to identify a problem, then take steps to solve the problem from a place of clarity. Have fierce conversations, gather information, and take action so you can course-correct before it becomes an even bigger issue. We also talk about how having challenges in your team doesn’t necessarily mean you are doing anything wrong and how it’s a universal issue — even when it comes to some of our most respected sports heroes. What is your real mindset around money and work? Have you talked to your partner or your friends about their thoughts around money? How much money do you really need? This week, Adam talks about the importance of knowing how you think about money, the difference between being wealthy and being rich, and how to determine your freedom number. After you listen to this episode, take some time to journal about what money means to you, and discuss beliefs around money with a partner, family member, or friend.
