On today’s episode, the 5 habits I’ve noticed that are required for someone to be a high performance business owner. At the High Performance Business Summit lead by my coach, Bedros Keuilian. I’ll share my biggest take aways from the weekend and what I learned from the other high performers who were there. The number one thing that keeps people from success is fear of taking action.
Three Big Take aways:
take action on what you learn
time collapse your results by getting a coach
money in the transaction but generational wealth in the relationship
They way you supercharge your timeline, you have to pay for speed. And this means hiring a coach or mentor, investing in a mastermind, buying a blueprint. You have to seek advice from people who have done it already.
When you focus on doing what is right for people and create a relationship, whether you can help them or not, that’s what builds generational wealth. Focusing on the transaction will make you money in the short term, but you still have to think about long term success.
High performers are never satisfied. They are always setting bigger goals and figuring out how they can help more people.
Success is like an iceberg, people don’t see the hard work that goes into it, they only see the results. Be honest with your timeline with how long it will take to reach your goals.
We talk about:
-taking action on what you learn
-sharing wins and lessons
-long term success
-having intention in your action
-reaching goals and setting new ones
-working on yourself to better serve others
-having a team you trust

On today’s episode, I talk about the cost of doing business.
This is a question I’ve heard a lot in many different forms over the last few years.
Should I charge extra for credit cards?
NO! This comes from a poor money mindset. It tells me you’re not charging enough.
A great place to shop for the best credit card processing fees is Go! CardConnect. We saved over $300 a month in process fees over Stripe.
https://gocardconnect.com/aaronlebauer/
If a fee feels too expensive, you’re not charging enough!
Should I stop doing mobile PT because of gas prices?
NO! You aren’t charging enough! Raise your rates!
As a business owner, you should be maximizing your tax benefits and lowering your tax burden. Work with a great accountant to help you!
We talk about:
-you’re not charging enough
-poor money mindset

On today’s episode, I talk about how to make your money matter.
We need to keep having the money conversation because people still aren’t getting it. We need to talk about money in a positive light, the things money can do for us, the things we can use money to do for other people. THIS is the conversation we need to have around money.
For example, through our fundraising efforts during PT Bizcon, we were able to donate over $3,000 to STAND the Haiti project. That’s money doing things for good. I wasn’t be able to make a significant difference in someone’s life.
I can’t do that if I’m unwilling to charge a fair amount for physical therapy or business coaching. You need to know your worth and the value you offer your patients. You can change lives! There is no cap on the value of changing someone’s life.
We were training to think we weren’t worth anymore that a co-pay. You are worth so much more than a co-pay!
You’re thinking too small! You were trained to think and live in scarcity. You don’t have to anymore, though.
We talk about:
-the good things money can do
-unforeseen needs for money
-money priorities as a business owner
-ways for people to get physical therapy
-saving money WITH physical therapy

On today’s episode, I talk about why I quit the APTA. Did I just trigger you?
The APTA has actually done a lot of good for us. Without them, we wouldn’t ’ be where we are as a profession, because they are our ONLY unified voice for legislation! And I was a member for years, all the way up until 2020. Let me tell you why I decided not to renew my membership. When I was a member, I identified problems and offered solutions to do things better! But it always fell on deaf ears. No one would listen.
I’m not saying you shouldn’t be a member, and I’m not saying they’re bad! But it was no longer a fit for me.
If you find a problem but do nothing to fix it, then you’re just complaining.
The APTA is a big ship that takes a long time (too long) to change directions. There are people willing to stand up and help out, but there is a lack of feedback provided to those who DO offer their time and services to better the organization. After a certain point, it becomes obvious the your effects aren’t appreciated.
We shouldn’t be relying on referrals from physicians and the APTA doesn’t seem to be on board with that idea.
The final straw was the lack of guidelines and support when we were dealing with COVID. We had no advice on screening questions, how to pivot out businesses, how to utilize Telehealth. NOTHING!
This was a time to lead and the APTA dropped the ball.
I didn’t get he value from my membership in the APTA. That’s what it boils down to. If the value is there, regardless of what it is, you stay.
We talk about:
-the good the APTA has done
-where they’ve fallen short
-being open to new ideas
-falling short on feedback
-relying on physician referrals
-lack of transparency
-getting the value you expect
