Telling someone you have ADHD can be either a good experience or a very horrible experience. Over 60+ years, I've been through both. I've heard funny reactions to concerned reactions. I've been cheered on, and some felt pitty. Needless to say, I've heard about all of what you would expect, so listen in to hear a few, and we'll continue on Monday
Here's the email address for you to write in and tell us your stories. We're looking forward to hearing from you. Please write to us at Mark & Patti.
Today I wanted to reinforce the idea discussion from the other day about what you want to be vs. what you want to do. Either way, you can do whatever with ADHD. Don't let anyone tell you you can never be that or do that with ADHD. That's bull!
I think everyone at one time or another has been asked, what do you want to be when you grow up? It comes with the territory of being a kid, right! I was asked that repeatedly over the years by everyone, then one day, I was asked, what do you want to do in the future? I was perplexed, to say the least. I figured what I wanted to be was the same as what I wanted to do. I learned differently over the years.
I touched a little more on life with and without ADHD today. Hopefully, giving you more to consider over the weekend. Let me know at Mark & Patti
I don't know how my life would have turned out without ADHD. Being diagnosed at a young age, I didn't have time to live a life without ADHD. Maybe you did? I don't know when everyone listening was diagnosed with ADHD, but if you were diagnosed at an older age, you might have had a life without it. So think about what it was like before and now. It's an exciting thought for today, I think.
I read a great deal, and most of the time, the articles don't interest me, nor do I figure them into my podcast, but today this one hit me differently. It seemed to make sense for many reasons, and I talk about them in today's podcast. Listen in.
DelPaggio's Cucina is where the cooking videos hang out. Check them out this weekend if you have a little time and subscribe. Today I'm covering a bunch of thoughts for you to think about. Make sure you do some thinking about where you do your best thinking.
Sometimes I'm at a loss for words and topics. It doesn't happen often, but it does. I had a topic today that I wasn't sure I wanted to talk about, but it felt like it was the right time to do so. Given that I do this show without knowing the ages of listeners, I worry about age-related topics. Then I remember that most of my stuff can be for any age. I brought that up today when I thought about what I would tell my younger self if I could about living with ADHD. A Topic I'll be talking more about in the coming shows.
So maybe I'm being corny! Perhaps I'm being naive. Either way, I believe a dream can come true. It's better to build the ground floor in the event the dream does come through than start from scratch when it's time and lose the momentum that's already going.
Creativity isn't just being an artist or musician. It isn't just being a singer or dancer. Creativity is that and more. Being a CPA can be creative, but you have to see it that way. Being a salesperson is creative if you define it that way. Creativity is an amazing thing that we should define at some point in our lives.
