Hello, Sugarpants! Welcome to the ADHD Entrepreneu(Her)! My name is Karrie Lemansky-Straub and I am the Chief Weirdo of Karrie Out Loud. I support heart-lead visionaries and out-of-the-box thinkers with ADHD so that they can build better fkking businesses and better fkking lives because of it.  

About Today's Episode: 

Were you put into the GATE classes as a child and were given an later life ADHD diagnosis? (GATE was an acronym for Gifted And Talented Education). 

MANY of the later-life diagnosed ADHD women I know and work with were in GATE, and so was I. So I did a little digging around to find out why. Today's episode is all about what I found. 

What you will hear: 

•The top reasons why girls with undiagnosed ADHD are put into the gifted class during the early part of their education.

•How undiagnosed ADHD and being gifted often go hand in hand. 

• Why undiagnosed ADHD can have all of the signs of being gifted on the outside while feeling intense and chaotic on the inside. 

• IMPORTANT NOTE - If you have ADHD, and you have a female child, pay attention at the end. I share a list of some of the tell-tale signs of ADHD in girls due to the fact that ADHD runs int he family and is missed in young females.  

75% of female children with ADHD are missed and go undiagnosed until later in life - the average age being approximately 37.  Be your child's advocate. Keep your eyes wide open for the signs and PLEASE get an assessment done as soon as you can if you see symptoms occurring that affect their life on the daily.
