Reminder that this is Blizzcon week and the AIE Blizzcon Hall is available again this year. For those attending Blizzcon, in less than two weeks, the AIE Guild Hall is going to be available and active, and they are looking for volunteers to help make it successful. We need people and donations to help cover expenses.

The Guild Hall will be open at exactly 8:00 AM on Friday November 6th and Saturday November 7th and will be closing down when one of the persons in charge falls asleep from exhaustion (but most likely before midnight Sunday.)

EVE

CCP had some big news this weekend at the EVE Vegas 2015 event. Coming Spring of 2016, expect the Citadel Expansion, which is expected to be the biggest addition to the sandbox gameplay since the original starbases. Citadel will include a complete overhaul of capital ships and three different sizes of the new modular citadel structure which will be anchorable anywhere including high security space. reputation and XP will be enjoyed

for the week of the official release

of Season 11.

1.3 Admiralty System is coming!

Obsolete starships in your

inventory will be used by Duty

Officer (similar to WoW’s follower)

daily missions for rewards. This is in

addition to the current Duty Officer

daily missions.

1.4 Dilithium pricing for all starships

has been greatly reduced until 11/3

to encourage upgrading starships

for Season 11 challenges.

1.5 A new Herald lockbox will begin dropping

Hope you all had a Wonderful Brewfest! Next up is Hallow’s End, which starts on October 18 and goes November 1st. They have streamlined the event- gone are the days of hourly trick or treating for a chance at a rare mask or vanity item. Instead, there is a new vendor and daily system, similar to Noblegarden. There is a new pet, the Feline Familiar- and old favourites like the Sinister Squashling are now purchasable. And, there is a Creepy Crate available from a short questline AND a Little Wickerman available from the vendors, which functions as a campfire. The Day of the Dead follows Hallow’s End and this year it runs from November 1st to November 3rd.

So as an avid user of ArkInventory for my bags and an overly organized person, I tend to use ArkInventory rules to put stuff in specific locations in the inventory screen. You can collect transmog sets from the Salvage Yard and buy transmog sets from the Warmill. To keep those from getting lost in my general inventory I’ve made two rules for ArkInventory that will allow you to choose a location for that rule and the items will show up there. It’s faction agnostic and has all the sets per rule, so you only have to set it once on one character and it will be in effect for all your characters.

As Knights of the Fallen Empire quickly approaches, information is flowing forward like Blue Milk! Companion max affection achievements are being removed, so if you have not completed this yet, do it while you can! There will also be changes to crafting, including two new endgame purple mats, conquest mats can only be acquired with completing personal conquest goals and operation mats can only be acquired by killing bosses in Operations.

From the Romulan Republic News Service affiliate of the United Federation of Planets Galactic News Network, this is RRF Fleet Admiral Cybyl reporting:

1. Star Trek Online’s 'Design Your Ship' crowdsourced project nears it’s final phase as the Epsilon and Omega starship designs are the close winners. We are awaiting the next phase as the new week approaches.

2. Since the release of the new Federation Tier 6 Hestia-class Escort and Tier 6 Promethius-class Refit released two weeks ago, several new ships were released last week:

2.1 The new and awesome Federation Tier 6 Enhanced Yamato-class dreadnaught, along with greatly revamped T6 Galaxy-class and T6 Monarch-class cruisers. All are based on classical, highly-successful Federation designs.

2,2 The new and equally awesome Romulan Tier 6 Kara-class dreadnaught, along with a highly upgraded T6 Ha’apax Fleet Advanced Warbird. Both are based on a merger of several, battle-proven Warbird architectures.

2.3 The new and just as awesome Klingon Tier 6 Kolasi-class siege destroyer along with a highly upgraded and improved T6 Garumba-class siege destroyer. These are both based on tried-and-true, successful Nausicaan designs.

3. As the new 11th season release approaches, the highly successful 'Tales of War' Iconian war chronicles has been replaced with the new 'Utopia Planitia Report' series of behind-the-scenes tales.

4. The 11th Season will be concerned with the war-ravaged worlds as they rebuild and still have to battle the Mirror Universe adversaries who are attempting to invade and conquer our universe while the factions are at a perceived weakened state.

4.1. Leading the invasion will be the evil Terran Empire’s Admiral Leeta, the mirror opposite of the Dabo table hostess, Leeta, from the Star Trek Deep Space 9 series. The part will be voiced by Chase Masterson, the original actress in the TV series.

4.2 A new level 60 battle zone will be introduced with Season 11, similar to the Delta Quadrant Solanae Dyson Sphere battle zone in Season 10. The new new battle zone will be located in the Badlands of the Alpha Quadrant

5. Take warning STO players wishing to access the STO homepage for news, purchases and forums on October 13: the website will be down for 12 hours for refit and upgrade. The game, however will be unaffected.

6. A Galactic Restoration Project shall be instituted October 8 through October 29, for game-wide player credits and perks. This is to help in the rebuilding efforts of the galaxy. This is similar to the Delta Rising Project:

6.1 Oct 8-15, complete fleet projects to unlock bonus fleet credits

6.2 Oct 15-22, complete Duty Officer assignments to unlock expertise and skill point bonuses.

6.3 October 22-29, players shall luxuriate in an additional week of ALL the bonuses they unlocked the first two weeks

Game Announcements - Patch 3.1 details are starting to be announced.

24 - man raid, similar to Crystal Tower FFXIV 2.0 or WoW LFR in terms of difficulty

New Relic questline. Long, multi-patch quest line for a super-duper weapon. Old 2.0 Relics were very powerful, and looked great!

Addon API may launch within the 3.1 patch timeframe.

Airship Expedition Voyages

We will soon be able to go on the FC airships on their voyages.

Resources, FC mobs, and other fun things to do.

In-game representations of all of the developers giving thanks to the players for making FFXIV’s resurgence what it is today.

Acknowledges past failures and states that the players and developers together make FFXIV, not a closed vision.

Great developer to player relationship.

Raid teams are in full swing.

A Friday Night team and a Saturday night team are running.

Balamb Gardeners needs raiders for Friday nights.

Players are not “locked out” from a boss if runs with a different team.

From new raids, 1 item per boss/floor. Can run multiple times for loot.

Law and Eso (End game loot tokens) are always rewarded.

Old content can be ran as an “undersized” party. No level sync, but no dungeon finder matching.

Groups are still being made for older raids for Glamor Sets (i.e. Transmog, cosmetic)

Sept 1st patch 6.2.2 (Flying in Draenor and PvP Mercenary Mode) is set to drop. The fine folks in our Final Fantasy guild are hard at work on the Henry and Steve Airships! As of August 14, Henry is at Max Level and brought back enough Empty Clusters to open up the schematic to make the Level 3 Aetherial Wheel Stand !!! At last report, they still need to collect the Deep-Red/Deep-Green Clusters that will be needed to make the inks to make the buff wheels + need him to bring more Empty Clusters to unlock the schematics for those. But, they are well on the way to start making/having level 3 FC buffs!! Congrats, guys, on the hard work. And thank you, Khaebil, for always keeping us posted on the forums and keeping the Google Doc updated with the current needs for the airships.

Pet battles are coming to Final Fantasy! Yeah, that’s right, some game found out what a huge fan I am of all the pet battles and put it in the game! Okay seriously, this was an april fools joke that the team decided to put into the game. And before you start worrying that it is going to be just like warcraft’s, well you are much mistaken! It’s more of a melee fight where all pets enter, one pet leaves. This was announced in the recent live letter and I have an official forum post to back this stuff up! eee!!

AIE News

Community

Remembrance Day, and the Summer of Love, will soon be here, albeit a little late this year. Traditionally, the Summer of Love is held during the first week of August, with Remembrance Day celebrated on August 2nd, but due scheduling conflicts (many of the guild either be at or returning from Nerdtacular), we are kicking off the Summer of Love on August 9th, with Remembrance Day. This is one of the most sacred and important events we hold each year. The event began to honor Bruce "Milliway" Galloway, an early member of AIE who passed away in 2007. He was a fan of AIE on a level that cannot be overstated, and a good friend and kind soul to all who knew him. On the day of his death we assembled and held a vigil in game. This vigil soon became our communities’ yearly tradition to honor him and every guild member who has been taken from us too early.

This year we will honor those we have lost on August 9th at 9pm Eastern, each in our own games, but together in Mumble.

Takemikazuch- AKA Larry- is looking for help with fireworks for Remembrance day. One of the events during the service is a fireworks show in Orgrimmar at Grommash Hold. Tak has graciously been volunteered to make this happen- and as such is in need the awesomeness of the guild to help make this happen.

What he needs (besides an easier to pronounce name)

1. Launchers.He has a lot of cluster shell launchers, but no single shell launchers. If possible, if a few engineering guildies could craft some of these, that'd be swell. There is a link for the launcher in the show notes and on the forums

SO, what are our plans this time?

Well, we're going to OWN the Stormwind Cathedral and see to it that Syerene (the Craft Faire Queen) and Kuta (her beau) get properly hitched

What do we need?

Muscle- And lots of it. This is our COOP for the summer. We intend to take over Stormwind l so that Syerene and Kuta can get married at the Cathedral. Please join us to make sure that the lovely bride and groom can have the best wedding in WOW- and have fun and chaos along the way. This is not a bear run, but we do intend to own the Alliance Capital City that evening.

What happens afterward (ie other cities) is still open.

The fine folks of Final Fantasy are hard at work on Airships Steve and Henry- right now they are working on the Grade 2 Wheel of Confrontation (exp through battle):

Materials needed- 3 electrum ingots, 3 deep red enchanted ink (3 deep red crystals & 2 deepeye tears per), 3 mythrite sand, 3 unaspected crystals

LOTRO

Update 16.2 is out and contains a lot of new content, including a new PvMP map, set in the battle-torn ruins of Osgiliath, in the time before the first chapters of the War of the Ring. Brandish the sword and the shield, or bow, or staff that best suits your look with the new Cosmetic Weapon system. Take a new merry and unexpected adventure with Bingo Boffin every week, and cull the new Roving Threats that wreak havoc on Middle-earth.

Summer of Love is coming! We are looking to have the schedule for our annual Summer of Love soon, though due to a scheduling conflict with the tail end of Nerdtacular, we will be pushing things back by a week. But don’t worry, A COOP, a Wedding, and shenanigans are being planned. And, of course, the very important Remembrance Day!

And even though San Diego Comicon didn’t give the fans what they were dying for (Trailer!), there was a fair bit of WOW Movie News- including posters featuring both Durotan and Lothar. Wowhead and the Nerdist both have a good wrap up of the panel- plus, there has been a promise of a real preview in November, probably at Blizzcon. And, every report from SDCC has said that the footage was amazing.

SWTOR

Not related to SWTOR directly, but additional amazing news from SDCC- there was a three minute Episode 7 behinds the scene reel that was shown at Comicon and quickly put up on youtube. It MAY of driven a number of adults to tears. Seriously, if you have not seen it, go watch it now!

The Secret World is currently celebrating their 3rd anniversary through July 15th. The Guardians of Gaia will once again be looming over the landscape, perilous in their march.
