The Warcraft movie came out this week- and we had a TON of Meetups to watch it, including one in Chicago, Phoenix, Chattanooga, LA, and of course Scott’s shindig in the Utah! AIE WOW- under new Managment! Or is it old management? Or is it Orange is the new black- oh, we don’t know! In any case, congrats to Randy Deluxe - aka Maui- aka our guest tonight- he has accepted to take over the reigns as the big kahuna of AIE WOW! And if you know Randy, you know he is the perfect fit- he has been involved with the guild from the beginning, has been our GM already, is still very active in the game, and is highly regarded in the community.

Congrats are in order for the Hearder of the Cats and the Craft Faire folks- and a fair few raid groups, Syreyne has been promoted to Praetorian! For those who don’t know, a Praetorian is a Senior Officer rank- a step up from the Centurion rank. Oh, and free to mail Sy a Left Shark as a celebratory gift!

Due to a sadly low drop rate for the garrison boss summoning items., Thuggs has changed the date on the AIE Vs Garrison Boss event to coincide with the Summer of Love! See our forums for details, or whisper Thuggs in game (or on twitter at @Alecmazzar).

And reminder you can help by farming up the boss summoning items. These items have a chance to drop upon ANY completed garrison invasion regardless of any previous invasions done that week. They are INDEPENDENT of the bag of loot drops and you have a chance each and every time you complete an invasion. Everyone can help, regardless if they've done it before. And we will need that help, because we need at least 2-4 of every item.

One highlight, at least for Tetsemi, is that a feature similar to Lords of War is ready to go for Legion and folks at the Legion Summit already saw the first one and loved it.

Be warned, MMO-Champion did try and block out spoilers in their summary, but in the interviews all bets are off, so if you don’t want to be spoiled with story and lore, tread carefully.

RRF Captain Cybyl’s Star Trek Online News Summary for week ending 06/12/2016:

1. HUUUUGE news of the forthcoming 'Agents of Yesterday' expansion: a July 6th release date! There have been many pre-release beta episodes to get players with beta server access a chance to get familiarised with. Starting July 6th, all of these episodes and many more shall be released for all players. More juicy details of these episodes and more are available on the Star Trek Online website .

2. Another beta mission, (drumroll, please) 'Vorgon Conclusions', was released. This story is a continuation to the ongoing ’Yesterday’s War' story arc. It is available to players with beta server access. Details are posted on the Star Trek Online website

3. It is that time of year again for the STO Summer Event: the annual Risa Lohlunat Festival will be starting June 9th and playing through July 21st. Do crazy daily events to win prize vouchers for vanity pets, vintage beachwear, updated mini-powerboards, jetpacks, and much, much more. Also available is an opportunity to save up excess prize vouchers for the Annual Summer Event Starship: a Vorgon (NOT Vogon) Xyfius Heavy Escort! 4. On the subject of the current Temporal Cold War story arc, a new back story was released, Thursday, June 9th, entitled “Army of Me’. It features a 31st century Ferengi temporal agent on a trip back in time to intercept a Na’Kuhl operative. A surprise plot twist ensues. This story is available for reading on the STO website

5. Star Trek Online has been releasing more details of the Xbox One and Playstation 4 console versions. No formal release date has been announced but our Ferengi operative says ’soon’. Technical details are available on the Star Trek Online website.

6. A sizable number of UI and player quality-of-life improvements and fixes, were released over the last two weeks as well. For a complete run down, I again direct you to the Star Trek Online website for details.

7. For status of the AIE Classis’ Fleet Starbase, all fleet mates are encouraged to check out the Fleet holdings tab in the Fleet’s in-game menu. Contributions of materiel and personnel are always welcomed to assist in building up the Fleet’s Starbase and other Fleet holdings to their full potential.

8. Players are encouraged to check out news, patch release notes, forums, commentary, etc., at the Star Trek Online website .

RRF Captain Cybyl’s synopsis of the Star Trek Online News for week ending 05/15/2016:

To celebrate Star Trek’s 50th anniversary, a new expansion was announced May 5th: 'Agents of Yesterday'. ’Agents of Yesterday’ will allow players to create a new captain in Star Trek: The Original Series era and will set them on an adventure featuring classic story lines, locations, celebrities, and era-appropriate starships. In 2270, the year following the third TV season of the original series, the player will adventure with Walter Koenig, reprising his role of Chekov, and Chris Doohan, filling in for his late father as Scotty. There is a new threat to the security of the Federation, and they are invading with hopes of overwhelming the past to destroy our future. More details are available on the Star Trek Online website .

But that’s not all: as added incentive, the ’Agents of Yesterday’ Beta will be open to Gold and Lifetime subscrption members on the Tribble Beta server. A Tutorial episode, ’The Taurean Affair’, where a science survey vessel has gone missing near the Murasaki-312 nebula. Starfleet Command believes it may have crash landed on Taurus II, the same planet that cost the lives of two Starfleet officers several years ago. As first officer of a Pioneer-class starship, you will be leading a landing party to the surface of the planet to discover the fate of the survivors. Additional Beta stories in the story arc will also be added until official launch, however, once 'Agents of Yesterday’ is officially released, all these and more episodes will be available to all players.

So, we have been kinda busy in EVE.

Where should I begin?

I know! Let’s talk about back when AIEU was living in Fountain.

You see back in the day AIEU used to be part of TEST Alliance Please Ignore and all was good with the world.

We use to fight with this group called the CFC and they became the strongest group in the game and we were cool.

Until one day, the Fire Nation Attacked!

The CFC who has changed their name to The Imperium decided that we were no longer cool and kicked TEST from it’s home in Fountain.

We were kind of mad because Hoots had just started to run Planetary Interactions in our part of space.

So we went gypsy and wandered Faction Warfare and we decided to leave TEST and join this alliance called BRAVE.

And for a while things were cool. We were even able to find a new ancestral home land.

And then BRAVE blew up.

And we went gypsy once again and we decided to really check out a new alliance.

And we did, and this alliance used to be in the CFC and they were betrayed when the Fire nation… I mean the CFC kicked them out. Because they were independently minded and ask questions.

AIE and our new alliance Blades of Grass successfully attacked and conquered one of the most prized areas in New Eden, 2GTHR in Branch. AIE and its allies have joined forces with the Money Badger Coaltion to attack and destroy The Imperium and its allies.

CCP Games released the latest expansion cinematic trailer during the EVE Fanfest keynote presentation featuring the new ability for players to build “castles in space” called Citadels. These citadels can be built anywhere in space and will be completely player built and controlled. In addition a new capital size “Force Auxiliary” ships will be made available for large ship field support. The most important feature of the new citadel structures is that they will be 100% destructible, forcing players to defend their castles from enemy attack.

Still love your Chocobo? Been wanting to take a look at upcoming content for FFXIV? Captain Placeholder put up a forum post about the recent Q&A panel at Pax East about the new “Palace of the Dead” It’s a “deep dungeon” that starts you off at level 1 and will get new levels added to it in future updates. You can play solo or in groups and ‘save’ on floors where you will respawn if you die.

RRF Captain Cybyl’s synopsis of the Star Trek Online News for week ending 04/17/2016:

1. Season 11.5 dropped on Star Trek Online players on Tuesday, April 12th with in a blaze of glory! Skill tree revamp, Romulan admiralty missions, a new Strategist space specialisation were added per prior announcements.

2. However a number of unexpected surprises were added: free giveaways of starships, admiralty ship cards, specialization points, Na’kuhl lockbox loot drops with a chance of an awesome Na’kuhl timeship or improved crafting materials packages, new uniforms and other gear.

3. One significant surprise was the addition of a long requested feature from Captains who wanted greater control over the appearance of their ship: starship visual slots. Now STO players now have transmog options for their starships!

4. Na’kuhl Red Alerts were added to the game based on PvE queues rather than the free-for-all model of existing Borg, Klingon, Tholian, etc., Red Alerts. They are a huge, fun improvement with more rewards than the older Red Alerts. Gotta love 'em!

5. The new Featured episode, Temporal Front, is an action-packed time-travel, search-and-destroy effort to eliminate Na’kuhl time agents from changing the time stream. Their evil goal is to to eliminate the Federation and it’s allies from existance. Several short stories were released prior to this mission to supply back story and to prepare players for this epic task.

6. Lastly, a number of UI and player quality-of-life improvements, too numerous to mention, were released as well. For a complete list of these as well as the entire Season 11.5 scenario listings, please visit the Star Trek Online website .

7. For status of the AIE Classis Fleet Starbase, fleet mates are encouraged to check in on the fleet holdings tab in the in-game menu. Contributions of materiel and personnel are always requested to assist in building up the base and fleet holdings to their full potential.

RRF Captain Cybyl’s synopsis of the Star Trek Online News for week ending 03/06/2016:

1. Season 11.5 which will be released very soon, shall not only include the new skill tree, but also a Romulan Admiralty Campaign. Yes, Romulan players will get equal Admiralty love along with their Federation and Klingon allies. Among the rewards this new campaign brings are fabulous tech upgrades and an epic-quality Romulan Admiralty ship.

2. Starting Thursday, March 3th until, Monday, March 7th, all Duty Officer packs will be available for purchase in the C-Store for 20% off. This is a perfect chance to fill your roster and replace those expendable redshirts. But thats not all:

3. Starting Thursday, March 3th until, Thursday, March 24th, all Delta Alliance Duty Officer packs purchased from the C-Store will be put into your inventory as usual, but here’s the deal:

3a. Upon opening the pack, it shall contain 10 Lobi crystals or a Tier 6 Krenim Annorax Science Dreadnaught, in addition to the Duty Officers! This is one fine ship! Other bonus items available are also available. See the Star Trek Online website for details.

4. The 'Into the Breach' Event queue has been updated and reintroduced in the PvE event queues. This pits you and your fleet mates against a hostile Voth City Ship for reputation marks.

Now here’s THIS deal: starting Thursday, March 3rd until, Thursday, March 24th, Captains between levels 50 - 60 can queue up for the 5-Captain 'Into the Breach' Event to defeat the evil Voth City Ship and earn one Voth Operative Transmission every 20 hours. Collecting 14 VOTs will be rewarded 50,000 dilithium ore, 500 fleet marks, 250 reputation marks of your choice and a T6 Voth Admiralty Ship Card. See the Star Trek Online website for details for even more exciting bonuses for this event.

5. The Galactic Development Campaign has ended by players completing all 3 tiers.. Until Thursday, March 10th, all players shall be getting 150% bonuses for ALL types of skill sets.

Waterstrider gate has come and...gone. The blizzard dev team announced that they were going to restrict water striders to specific expansions. Within 48 hours they had backed it off to pre-Legion content only, and then reverted the whole change, waved their hands in the air like they didn’t care, and put the whole thing to rest. Are you just re-starting your SWTOR experience or have you just finished up Chapter X of Knights of the Fallen Empire and can’t wait for Chapter XI coming in March? Either way, there’s a ton to do in game and activity has been picking up with the guild.

RRF Captain Cybyl’s synopsis of the Star Trek Online News for week ending 02/27/2016:

1. The big news item is that Star Trek Online’s player skill tree is being completely redesigned. Players are being asked to test the new skill tree on the Tribble beta test server. This skill tree overhaul is quite the controversy in the STO forums. It is similar to the WoW’s new revamped talent tree.

2. Star Trek Online’s 6th Anniversary is continuing with the release of new Federation, Klingon and Romulan Dreadnaught Flagships. There are 3 variants of the Dreadnaughts for each faction: tactical, science and engineering. They are available in the C-Store singly or in discounted bundles.

2. Omega particles strewn about the galaxy have been continued along with a mini game to collect them for awesome R&D crafting materials for your upgrades

3. The Featured Episode, ’Time and Tide’, which carries the ’Year of Hell’ temporal warfare to the next level, is now only available to level 60 players. A next Featured Episode in this story arc is expected to be released soon.

4. New stories have been released for reading on the STO website featuring the Na’kuhl preparing for temporal cold war vengeance against the Federation and it’s allies, blaming them for supposedly destroying their sun with a stolen experimental device. Based on these stories, it sounds like the new Featured Episode will be a good one.

5. The Macintosh STO client was abandoned earlier this month allowing subscription refunds for those players who do not adopt the PC version. If the player DOES continue play with a PC client, their account will be available for a seamless transition. This reporter used Bootcamp (part of the Mac OS) to install Windows on her iMac to continue uninterrupted play.

6. The Galactic Development Campaign has enjoyed some early success in the rebuilding after the devastating years of the Iconian War. Starting February 25th until March 3rd, all captains who log in can aid the effort by completing PvE queues and Fleet actions. Based on contributions made by ALL participants, a Bonus Experience Week will be unlocked the following week with 50%, 100% or 150% bonuses for ALL types of skill sets.

RRF Captain Cybyl’s synopsis of the Star Trek Online News for week ending 01/31/2016:

1. Star Trek Online’s 6th Anniversary started with daily giveaways, a Q Continuum game, Omega particle mini game, a new Featured Episode and a new Science ship as the event prize along with new lockbox and Lobi ships as well..

2. The daily giveaways will happen from Tuesday, January 26 to Tuesday, February 2, and include ships, tech R&D upgrades, spec points, fleet dilithium credit vouchers, uniforms and more. Any player may claim them and they change daily.

3. Our favorite PITA, The Q, has returned to join the celebration with a game to win reputation marks along with a liberal supply his usual snarky commentary

4. The event prize starship is a Krenim Science vessel with awesome stats. Now your Science captains, have a shiny new starship with a science focus. The lockbox ships are the epic T6 Tholian Tarantula Dreadnaught and the rare T5 Tholian Meshweaver destroyer. The fearsome Mirror Universe Paradox attack ship is now available in the Lobi Crystal store.

5. Omega particles strewn about the galaxy have been reintroduced with a mini game to collect them for awesome R&D crafting materials for your upgrades.

6. Lastly, the new Featured Episode, ’Time and Tide’, carries the ’Year of Hell’ temporal warfare to the next level. Having played ’Time and Tide’, the time travel story arc is leading to great promise and danger with the Mirror Universe lurking about along with a Temporal Cold War that may await. The story in written in the classical style of classical Star Trek.

GAME NEWS

Patch 3.2, “Gears of Change” is going to be released on February 23rd! An early birthday present for Kelseer.

Big Changes / New Things:

New Raid, “Alexander: Midas”, the second hardcore raid wing.

New gear tier and new tomestones, aka currency for armor. The new armor is themed around the Final Fantasy summons that were fought in A Realm Reborn, such as Ifrit, Titan, Leviathan, etc.

Materia melding is coming to raid gear, which is new. Overmelding isn’t possible on this gear (yay!)

LOTS of new crafting recipes are on their way. A lot of the gear is raid-ready, and while the raid drops are better ilvl wise, they will help with challenging the raids.

Most duty roulettes can be done with friends now, so more AIE parties!

Two new end-game dungeons, the Antitower, which appears to be an upside-down tower related to the main story, and everyone’s favorite creepy dungeon, Lost City of Amdapor hard-mode

The Antitower appears to be inspired by Ispen’s Castle from FF9.

Tanks are getting their stats changed, in that vitality will affect their damage. That way they will stop using STR gear, maybe.

Star Trek Online is calling for all Captains to take part in a post-war recovery event running from January 14th at 9AM PST, until January 28th at 9AM PST. All Captains who log in during this timeframe will be able to contribute to global efforts to rebuild the quadrant in the aftermath of our war against the Iconians. The level of contributions made by all Captains will be matched by special reward events that will unlock for everyone the following week.

For the first week, running from January 14th at 9AM PST, until January 21st at 9AM PST, Captains can aid the recovery efforts by completing fleet projects and earning Fleet Credits. Based on the contributions made by all Captains during this week, a Bonus Reputation Mark Week will be unlocked for the following week, with a bonus of 25%, 50% or 75%.

GAME NEWS

Ellynn: We’re here to talk about of WoW guild’s anniversary coming up on February 13th and all the fun things we have planned to help us celebrate. We are planning events from Friday Feb 12th to Sunday Feb 14th, so even if you have plans with your hunny for Valentine’s Day, you can still join us for some of the events.

Syreyne: We have a schedule of events posted in the main forum thread with links to each event’s post where they have all the information of that event posted. We have something for everyone at all different times, so we hope to see as many guild members participating as possible.

Ellynn: On Friday we have a Meet and Greet hosted by Allanya and Nevermore in the Filthy Animal in Dalaran from 7pm to 8pm. Come share stories, ask questions, laugh, and have a good time! Make sure you have Mumble set up so you don’t miss out on the fun!

And the BRA raid team is doing an old school raid night for pets and fun times! (We will be running Karazan and Black Temple (in celebration to Legion coming soon!). This is a tabard only event! The only weapons and gear allowed is what you find in the raid, nothing but a tabard allowed to enter. We will start with Kara and move to Black Temple from there. Make sure you have plenty of bag space and mumble will be required. You can whisper me that evening (I will be advertising in the appropriate channels) and we will have a blast! Lots of fun to be had and pets to boot!

Syreyne: On Saturday, we have a super special event planned. We are joining up with the guildies from Convert to Raid. You may have heard their podcast. AIE is going to create alliance gnomes on Aerie Peak and with the help of CtR, we are making a run at Vol’jin. Of course, the gnomes with die. But Running of the Beef has always been fun! (Expand with hosts on this. CtR will be talking about it on their podcast as well, according to my contact there.)

Nevermore and Allayna are hosting one of their Trivia events too. This one is about Star Wars, the original trilogy. It’s going to start at 4pm in Undercity. If you haven’t tried it yet, its really fun using raid markers for Trivial Pursuit tokens.

Ellynn: And to end the night, on this our anniversary night, we shall COOP!!!!! Grimcow is taking us on a bear run, so if you don’t have the mount yet, be early!!! Its first come for the bear raid group. Of course, if you already have it, we can always use support teams!!! We are going to love the Alliance to death!!! Meet up at the Goblin Death Blimp at 8pm!

On Sunday, Nevermore and Allanya are hosting a Battle Pet Picnic where they will be helping people learn to pet battle, trade rare pets, and other fun things. No tournament this time, but it’ll still be lots of fun. Its going to be at Karnum’s Glade in Desolace at 6pm.

Syreyne: We also have a few other events in the works. There’s talk about having a transmog contest and a Where’s Waldo of WoW game. Make sure to keep an eye on the forums for updates on current events or information on when new events get added.

To cap off the weekend, we are having a raffle. This one is completely free! The way to get tickets is to attend events. For each event you attend, you receive one ticket in the drawing for mounts, pets, Rep medallions, XP potions, and more. You don’t need to be present at the raffle to win.

The AIE Guildhall at Blizzcon was successful, lots of friends and guildies met up, hung out, and a few podcasts were recorded. Just a reminder, the AIE Guildhall at Blizzcon is not just the AIE WoW Guildhall, but for the whole community of AIE and friends. Planning is already underway for next year’s guildhall so we can get a jump on preparations to make it more awesome. Tuesday, Nov 17th, Blizzard will release patch 6.2.3 for World of Warcraft. This patch will come with Valor upgrades completing a wing of LFR each week for the first time each week, the first heroic dungeon of each week, Mythic dungeons and also earned with the weekly event upon completion.

Each piece of gear will be able to be upgraded twice for 250 valor for each upgrade.

Timewalking dungeons for Cataclsym as well as Cross-Realm mythic raiding will also be introduced as well as a transition to PvP Season 3 beginning.

Class changes as well, generally buffs to underperforming spells/talents for certain classes.

We’d like to thank Cybyl for the following update to STO!

Starships are here! STO is offering starships and a mirror universe bridge officer, captain leeta, if you make a donation to the chase masterson’s charity. This charity fights bullying using the appeal of pop culture and are active in schools and conventions and the like! And for those of us who are thinking Leeta sounds familiar, she is from deep space 9 and yes, they got the original actress back to voice her!

And there’s been a new exploration story arc added! It starts with the quest ‘a signgle step’. The latest update also adds the mirror invasion even and the badlands battle zone. Other quality of life improvements include an overhaul to the trait system, allowing for more sharing of traits across the different races, and the new drydock system.

Finally, STO is having weekly giveaways, announced every tuesday on their website, and if that is not enough, from now until November 26th, they have reduced the price of lifetime subscriptions by $100!! Considering all the perks and amazing things you get for being subscribed, that’s a huge deal!

Wildstar
