Galadeon posted in the forums to let everyone know about a new MMO in development called Ashes of Creation. It’s a player driven content MMO with the content unlocked by player activities around hidden nodes in the game. A 6+ minute video of the basic concepts is also in the forum post. Let us know what you think in the forums post below.

    WoW
Follow up from our last podcast, Noob Raid did invade Trials of Valor raid and were able to knock down the first two bosses in the Trial, way to go raiders!
Patch 7.2 has been out for a bit now and players have unlocked two of the three towers and experienced what was offered by each. Most feedback seen, seem to indicate the solo scenario for your class weapons was very difficult and higher level gear is going to be needed for most folks to complete the scenario, also the extra loot chest (the random buff) did provide extra loot but I think folks were looking for a bit more from it.
The Nether Disruptor was completed and brought with it a world boss that has a chance to drop loot (I received a ilevel 900 Blood Relic for my tanking weapon) as well as an item that gives you Artifact Power (with level 28 AK it gives 1.2 million AP). You also get the buff that if you spend a bonus roll token and don’t get bonus loot, there is a chance the token will be refunded to you. More Unstable Nether Portals are created while this tower is up and there is a chance to get Artifactor Commendations which are used in crafting legendaries by the three armor class professions (Tailoring, Leatherworking, and Blacksmithing).
Legion Invasions are also active, but the requirement to complete all four has been removed from Pathfinder Part 2 (to unlock flying in Legion), so the requirements now are just Pathfinder Part 1, Exploring all of Broken Shore, and getting getting to Revered reputation with Armies of Legionfall.
Getting reputation with Legionfall is achieved through Work Orders in your class hall, completing the World Quests that are up on the Broken Shore and turning in Building Supplies for Towers. Legion Invasions does not give Legionfall reputation, but they do help with the reputation for the zone they are in.

The War for Iokath: The Faction Battle Reignites
A good write-up about the upcoming patch, storylines, and information about the conflict on Iokath is on the SWTOR main site. As Outlander you will have to decide if you want to side with the Republic and its new commander Jace Malcom or the Empire and its new leader Empress Acina.
Of definite note is the Returning companions – Quinn and Elara. They will side with you depending on if you side with Empire/Republic. Sith Warriors may have another way to get Quinn back. There are still choices you can make that determines if you get them or not. These companions are tied to the story, and not dailies/reputation.
Also a reminder, you just need to be level 70 to access Patch 5.2 content. Which means you must have been a subscriber in the past but don’t need to be a current subscriber.
    GW2
Good news everyone! (Oh wait wrong game), the Guild Hall is at the actual unlock event stage. It’s a drawn out series of fights to clear out the Guild Hall and take it over for the guild. We need level 80’s with HoT expansion and access to gliding is very, very helpful. For updates, please check with the forums thread

    From the Producer Letter:
Today we’re writing to you to announce that The Secret World will be relaunching this spring as Secret World Legends, a shared-world action RPG featuring over 100 hours of story-driven quests and revamped gameplay and progression systems that will be completely free to play.
Given the sweeping extent of the changes being implemented, Secret World Legends will reset story progression for anyone who joins, offering a fresh start for all players.
This will not erase your progression in The Secret World though! Secret World Legends will exist on a different server than The Secret World, meaning you will still be able to play your old character on The Secret World server.
We’ve made some major improvements to the game and server, so Secret World Legends will have its own client. You can have both Secret World Legends and The Secret World installed on the same computer and play either game at any time.
If you’re intrigued by Secret World Legends but don’t want to leave behind the things you’ve worked hard to attain in The Secret World, worry not: a free transfer process will allow you to move vanity items like Mounts, Pets, Vehicles, and other customization's that have been purchased through the item store from The Secret World to your characters in Secret World Legends
The Secret World Legends closed beta is announced and there is a signup on the main page of Secret World Legends.

Captain Cybyl’s Star Trek Online News Summary for week ending 3/26/2017:

    GW2
The GW2 guild is pleased to announce that we are stealing/instituting the AIE tradition of Mandatory Fun Nights. They are scheduled for Monday nights at 9:30pm ET and as always, only the fun is mandatory
And with that, let’s get back to Kini and Anwyl to talk about NOOB raid!..
    GAME NEWS
Q-What is the purpose of NOOB raid?
S: Noob Raid was created to provide a safe casual environment for people new to raiding to learn how to raid and become more comfortable with the process. It also allows more experienced raiders to try a different spec/class then one they might normally play.
A: I really appreciate that younger players have a safe place to dip their toes into raiding too. When we have minors in the room, everyone is always great about keeping it PG13 for the most part!
Q- How did it get started?
S: About 3 years or so ago, the original Noob Raid leader, Sparrow, heard a lot of comments about people being scared to try raiding. They were worried they would not perform well and let others down or get ridiculed and/or yelled out. He decided a raid team with the focus on learning and having fun would benefit the AIE community.
A: And the idea of it really caught on. I remember times when we would run two full raid groups through SoO. People really appreciated the fact that they could come in, try new specs and be confident that nobody was going to yell at them cause of performance or meters.
Q-How did you get involved in NOOB raid?
S: I started playing Wow In Pandaria and had no idea what raiding was about. I was hanging out in mumble one night with a group of people and Sparrow told me I should join them one night. I spent most of the fights tanking the floor with my warlock, but still having fun. During WoD, life got busy for Sparrow and he could no longer lead the group so he passed the lead to me.
A: I actually got involved with Noob Raid because of my husband...he wanted me to get into raiding and I was terrified! I remember sitting there in tears every time somebody died in the raid. Afterwards Sparrow and Fyre talked with me and gave me a huge pep talk! I have been a part of it ever since! Now even our son runs noob raid every once in while. He was 8 when he started and 10 now!
Q-What is your greatest achievement when it comes to NOOB raid?
S: This is a hard question to answer. In -game the most recent one I’m thrilled about is Noob Raid did it’s first full clear of Emerald Nightmare on Normal. As a group, we had managed to get through most of the bosses each night for a few weeks before but hadn’t managed to reach or kill the final boss. The night we pulled it off, we one-shotted every boss in the raid and finished with 2 minutes left in our allotted raid time. Personally - Keeping Sparrow’s vision for Noob Raid going has been a goal of mine. I do my best to keep Noob Raid a casual, fun, and welcoming environment and at the end of every Saturday night I can honestly say I’ve had a great time with a great bunch of people no matter how many bosses we have/have not killed.
A: I think one of my favorite parts of noob raid is the connections that I have made with people. Some of the people who are in there we have been running with for 3 years now. That has spilled over to real life friendships and meet ups. Even when I get burnt out or bored with the game...the wonderful people of noob raid keep me coming back!
    Q- Favourite moment?
S: There are so many...One of which I didn’t realize the significance of until much later. I get lost in game frequently and in SoO it happened to me a lot. I’d go the wrong way or pass the entrance of where we needed to be. The first night I raided with Noob Raid, I got lost on the way to the Iron Juggeraut fight and this toon named Elcarth came to find me and lead me back to the group. Three years or so later, I’m married to him,...

Toxxia, on our forums, has a great suggestion for a new micro-holiday in World of Warcraft and would like folks that like the idea to help vote it up in the WoW Forums.
From the post “Peacebloom Day would have you gather special blooms at 3 graveyards near the enemy faction and create a bouquet to leave at a graveyard near your faction capital (or get blooms from your faction to leave a bouquet for the enemy). Let the bouquets be visible for a week/month! Or maybe add this event to Remembrance Day/Hallows Eve? I'd call the quest Where Have All the Flowers Gone? and it would reward title: The Peaceable. For added fun, kills in BG's would give seeds to plant in graveyards, and leaving those bouquets would give you the title: Wildly Inept Pacifist. (This was a guild on my server and I always loved the name.)”

This is Tetsemi To my left is Mkallah: - (Hey, guys, there is a lot of alcohol in the guild kitchen). And to my right is Mewkow (Greetings, Guildies). This week we are joined by a trio of very special guests- Lanctharus, Randy (Maui), and Stigg. AIE News
    Community
AIE has set-up a Go Fund Me to raise money to cover his casket with flowers and a note to his family on behalf of AIE. Should we raise more than we can spend on that, we hope to commission a permanent marker, such as a gravestone or plaque, that briefly tells the world forever how much he meant to us.

    WoW
The AIE WoW guild and its larger community joined together in game at the Shrine of the Fallen Warrior to pay tribute to Ralff and the many contributions he made to the guild both inside and out of game. We were even joined by some of our friends in CTR and a number of guildies rejoined to honor our friend.
And special thanks to Prime for streaming and recording the event- a link to the recording is in the show notes-

Ok, we’ll be chatting about what we have been doing in and out of game shortly, but first, let’s cover this week’s news...
    AIE News
    Community
Hey, gang, I am sure that a lot of you have seen some rather cryptic posts on Facebook and Twitter about the loss of a dear guild mate, but no names have been attached. We are doing that out of respect for their family. One of the greatest things about our guild is that we are community and we are family, and these times are never easy. So, be gentle and kind, there is a lot of sadness right now and everyone grieves differently. As we can share more, we will.
    WoW
We know that AIE’s 10th anniversary passed this last week to little fanfare- but be rest assured, in the works! Because, why celebrate one day when we can celebrate all year. And, if you want to run an event for our big year, contact Nevermore in game, on discord, via twitter, etc.
Blizzard announced this week a new mount available in World of Warcraft, the Primal Flamesaber. How do you obtain this new hotness you might ask? Well, you need to grab a friend and jump into Heroes of the Storm. Play 15 games (win or lose, against a real team or the AI) as a Warcraft Hero, and the mount is yours! Looking for a friend or a group? The #LFG channel in AIE’s discord is a great place to find people looking for a partner for this event. Gerjen also startedd a thread on the AIE Forums for this event as well - http://forum.myextralife.com/topic/57399-friends-for-hots/
You have until March 13th to complete your 15 game, so you don’t have to run them all at once, unless that’s your jam!

    FFXIV
The last of three Fanfests was hosted in Frankfurt, Germany this weekend. The last big reveals for the game's next expansion, Stormblood (release date 20 June 2017)-
Last of two new jobs revealed -- Samurai (Melee DPS, unfortunately). Previously announced was Red Mage (Ranged DPS). Inventory and housing capacities are being increased (just for Sashi) . New zones, cities, and a new residential area with an Eastern theme are being introduced. The newly revealed map is huge, practically tripling the size of the known world, showing us what’s to come. (http://i.redd.it/9ddv7y5ifpgy.png) The FFXIV crew is excited for the new expansion and will be sitting down to chat with us closer to the release of the expansion to share in all the wonderful details of Stormblood.
Also- And they(SQEX) have 3 new world records to brag about.
Longest credits in an mmo (1h 38 mins), most original pieces of music in a game with 384 tracks, and most prolific role playing game series with 87 Final Fantasy Titles.

If you are looking at running an event in WoW, please let Nevermore know in game, via Discord, or the @AIE_WoW twitter account and she’ll make sure folks are aware.
    SWTOR
Looking to find out what’s happening in game? The SWTOR team publishes a monthly in game event listing each month, and this month’s is really really good.
    http://www.swtor.com/info/in-game-events?intcmp=sor_bwa-mkt-t-us-lp-117
In preparation for the upcoming patch 5.2, the SWTOR team has decided to help you gear up, level up, and generally speed up your progress in game. They are providing a 250% XP bonus (while leveling up) and a 250% command XP bonus once you reach max level. This will be starting Feb 7th and lasting through April 10th. So that will give returning folks, and players leveling up alts (to max level) plenty of time to take advantage of it. And for those with max level toons, this will speed up gaining CXP, which I know Max and Sema will be very happy with as it’s a constant topic they touch on in their podcast. Speaking of which

The folks over at Final Fantasy 14 want to remind you that Final Fantasy Friday Fun Night is going strong. Join us every Friday as we find new ways to run amok in the beautiful land of Eorzea.
Also, if you haven’t already, be sure to get your pre-order in for the newest expansion, Stormblood, coming June 20th of this year.
    GW2
A reminder for Guild Wars 2: The Lunar New Year festival ends on the 7th and the new episode of the living story starts up. Be sure to login on your toons before then so as to get the current episode of the living story for free. Once Episode 4 comes out, you will not be able to claim your access for free.
A-Net is using a time gated claim system for the Living World Episodes. As long as you log in, even with a free account, you will claim your access to the current Episode during its release window. In order to play the Living world, you need a Heart of Thorns paid account, but you can still claim the access on a free account, to play through at a later time. Also, be sure to follow up with logging on after Feb 7th as well to claim Episode 4.
Finally, if you do not log in, but are interested in the game at a later time, A-Net has in the past allowed the purchase of Season 2, so I am guessing a similar system is/will be in place for late comers to go through the Living World stories (minus season 1, which as of now is not accessible to anyone and was only playable during its live time).

A good write-up on the 7.2 patch is found over on WoWHead (http://www.wowhead.com/news=259395/patch-7-2-ptr-starts-today-and-patch-recap)
Patch 7.1.5 also brought in micro-holidays, the first of which is active now through Tuesday the 24th. Call of the Scarab is a micro-holiday celebrating the opening the gates of Ahn’Qiraj (On Caraj) during the classic World of Warcraft time period. Run AQ20 and AQ40 to get commendations to help your side (the Horde) win the event which will be represented by a Horde banner flying over the raids until the holiday comes around next year. There are also repeatable meat turn-ins and if you’re not yet exalted with Cenarian Circle you can scour Silithis for cultists and summon elemental lords to raise your reputation. WoWHead has a good write-up (http://www.wowhead.com/news=259399/call-of-the-scarab-micro-holiday-guide-january-21st-23rd) on the holiday
    SWTOR
Not much from the official SWTOR news side of things so Max and Sema dig into a couple topics they’ve had on the back burner regarding Conquest and how to do it as well as the quality of life features in SWTOR compared to other MMO’s as well as features they’d like to see borrowed from those other MMO’s.
SWTOR Escape Pod Cast 177: How to Conquest (http://www.newoverlords.com/swtor-escape-pod-cast-177-how-to-conquest/)
This week @AIESema, @MaxTheGrey and Astromech EPC-177 revive an older topic that's been of interest to our guild lately, Conquest, and talk through details, tips, tricks, etc.
SWTOR Escape Pod Cast 178: Quality of Life (http://www.newoverlords.com/swtor-escape-pod-cast-178-quality-of-life/)
This week @AIESema, @MaxTheGrey and Astromech EPC-178 talk about Quality of Life features in SWTOR and what else we'd like to see added.
It also looks like long time member Ori has returned after his life and work schedule got wonky and separately Arv has managed to wrangle folks to get the Wednesday night operations group up and running again. Please visit the forums or the SWTOR channel in the AIE Discord to hang out, say hello, and found out how you too can run the universe as emperor, benevolent or not.
    FFXIV
They were invited to be on the AIE Podcast this week! That’s exciting! What awesome news to they have in store? What will happen in Eorzea in the post-Dragonsong era? What news of Hildabrand, the world’s greatest inspector? Keep listening to find out! /teaser

Captain Cybyl’s Star Trek Online News Summary for week ending 1/22/2017:
    1. The Tzenkethi are coming! The race that decimated the planet that Starbase K-13 orbited for 700 years with a super weapon has been detected massing a vast attack force in the unexplored regions of the Alpha Quadrant. A huge new Season 12 story arc will be launched January 26 introducing this reptilian, 12-foot tall, 1000-pound, six-armed, Goliath adversary race. Imagine warriors wearing several hundred pounds of heavy armour and cannons as sidearms! The STO website describes them and provides pictures of these monsters.
    2. Season 12 will also bring two new battle queues, ’Gravity Kills’ and ’The Tzenkethi Front’. Both queues involve destroying Tzenkethi protomatter manufacturing stations and stealing the bombs, all while orbiting a black hole. See the STO website for details.
    3. A new backstory, 'A Gathering of Wills', was been posted on the website blog. Having discovered the Tzenkethi build-up and testing of super weapons on remote, defenseless worlds, Klingon General Rodek has been tasked to whip the peaceful, Lukari explorer race into a viable army and navy to counter the threat. The Lukari mission 'Of Signs and Portants’ based on this backstory shall be introduced as well. As before, this Captain shall refrain from spoilers.
    4. As a concurrent Season 12 release, new space and ground weapon systems and an Infinity Lockbox upgrade will be available to be earned under a new Lukari Restoration Initiative. New starships, kit modules and ship and player traits shall be also added to the release as well. The new Lukari uniforms are oh, so fashionable (be still, my beating heart). Also a new Kit and Module Research School will be introduced to craft personal kits and modules as well. Details on the STO website.
    5. Starting Thursday, January 19, though Monday, January 23, there will be a an XP weekend event. During this event, playing all content that awards skill points and expertise will be rewarded a 100% bonus.
    6. Don’t forget: The AIE Fleet’s original Star Base, as well as Star Base K13, are always seeking contributions of materiel. Do your part by checking out current donation requests in the Fleet’s in-game menu.
    7. Once again, please check out news, backstories, patch notes, forums, commentary, and other goodies at the Star Trek Online website .
Until next time, Captain Cybyl signing off

    NOMADS
Just a reminder that the Nomads’ Minecraft server has been shut down, but Stigg has made the world files available to anyone who wants them, be warned, it’s a large (5.8 G) download. Link can be accessed in the forum post in the Nomads section of the forums - http://forum.myextralife.com/topic/57344-shutting-down-the-nomads-minecraft-server/
    WoW
Are you ready for some football, I mean Nighthold? Patch 7.1.5 drops on Tuesday, make sure you have any important world quests completed before patch day as world quests will be changing then. The Brawler’s guild is returning, Mists of Pandaria dungeons added to the Timewalking event, micro holidays are being introduced (check your in game calendar for dates), and a large number of class changes (especially to secondary stats). A link to the details is in the show notes https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/news/20457780/patch-7-1-5-arrives-on-january-10
Another big change, especially for those people with Altitis that have been feeling a bit left out this expansion cycle, is the ability to catch up on Artifact Knowledge. If you have a character at AK 25, you will be able to purchase tomes for order hall resources that allow your alts to catch up to AK 20. A good write-up on the process is available over on WoWHead - http://www.wowhead.com/artifact-knowledge-guide - many thanks to Perculia for her hard work on writing and keeping this guide up to date with the changes.
Also, this gives everyone that’s doing progression raiding, about a week to get adjusted to the new changes in their classes as the Nighthold raid opens on January 17th, just one week after the 7.1.5 patch drops.
Want to hangout with a bunch of guildies and give the Alliance leader’s some heartburn? Join Grimcow on January 15th for a return of C.O.O.P. Details can be found in the forums - http://forum.myextralife.com/topic/57373-coop-january-2017-edition/

With the passing of Carrie Fisher, many groups and guilds held an in game vigil at House Organa in game. MassivelyOP captured some screenshots of the event - http://massivelyop.com/2016/12/27/star-wars-the-old-republic-players-pay-tribute-to-carrie-fisher/ and the AIE Guild participated as well.
And with the new year comes a new episode of the Escape Pod Cast, SWTOR Escape Pod Cast 176: 2017 Predictions. This week @AIESema, @MaxTheGrey and Astromech EPC-176 kick off 2017 with wishes and predictions for the year from us and the rest of the SWTOR community.

    LOTRO
Are you interested in a class on The Lord of The Rings? Well have we got an event for you. On January 3rd, LOTRO launched a new program called “Exploring The Lord of the Rings” with founder and president Corey Olsen, The Tolkein Professor, who will teach a details, chapter-by-chapter couse on The Lord of the Rings … in LOTRO on Tuesday evenings at 9:30 pm EST. He will spend about an hour and a half discussing the book chapter and its themes, reading passages and doing some close reading so that participants can really get into the story as it unfolds. For the final portion of the class, in-game participants will take a “field trip” to visit the places connected with the part of the book just discussed to examine both the visual adaptation and the related quests and story lines.

    STO
We have Captain Cybyl’s Star Trek Online News Summary for week ending 1/8/2017:
    1. No major missions have been released over the holidays, but a major story arc is expected to be released sometime in February, which coincide with the 6th anniversary of Star Trek Online and typically accompanied by a free anniversary starship and other giveaways. Stay tuned for more news as it becomes available.
    2. Q’s Winter Event will be ending Thursday, January 12th, so there is still time to accumulate the remaining prize vouchers for a starship and other great prizes. This is also a last chance to participate in Klingon Smash ’n Grab Ice Fishing.
    3. A 4th backstory, 'Tales from K13', was been posted on the website blog. Having survived an unexpected time jump to 700 years in the past, we learn the sad yet heroic fate of the surviving 3 Federation crew members that could not go into stasis on Star Base K13. This series of stories are true to the highest standards of Star Trek and also an immersive must-read. As before, this Captain shall refrain from spoilers.
    4. Fixer-upper Star base K13, a playable and upgradeable star base available to AIE fleet holders, needs your help. Several level unlock upgrades have been released which means mats and duty officers are needed to be contributed to get the station to a more useable level as a fleet hangout. After 700 years, make Starbase K13 great again!
    5. Sad news to report. In September, STO, Cryptic Studios, Perfect World and CBS announced a partnership with Eucled to allow players the ability to 3D print their own personal starships as a durable plastic model. Well, the company providing this service has gone bankrupt. The STO community is devastated. For now, this service shall not be available in the foreseeable future .
And with that, let’s discuss what happened last year in AIE, what we’re currently up to, and what we’re looking forward to this year as well.

    WoW raids

    Mythic

There are no teams that have downed a Mythic boss in Emerald Dream or Trials of Valor yet, but we'll keep you posted once the siege begins.
    Heroic

Better Late Than Never was the first to complete the Heroic version of Emerald Dream on November 7th with Mythic on Mains following on November 27th.
Kiddie Aggro is not far behind, having taken down 5 of 7, with Just Blame the Healers at 4 of 7, Horseshoes & Handgrenades at 3 of 7, Reckless Endangerment at 2 of 7,
and Who Pulled That?!?, Dojo of Awesome, and Chicken McThuggets all at 1 of 7.

Currently, none of the teams have tackled Odyn in Trials of Valor on Heroic difficulty, but that should come with time.
    Normal
Better Late Than Never was the first team to take down Normal Emerald Dream, followed by the team Mythic on Mains for second place.
All of the remaining listed teams have also completed Normal progression for Emerald Dream. In order, those include:
