(M) Welcome to episode # 225 of the the podcast celebrating the Alea Iacta Est gaming community. This isMkallah- and there is some anniversary cake in the guild kitchen. And right over there, we have Tetsemi (Catch Phrase here ). This week we are joined by our amazingly special guests - Stigg and Ralff, who are here to talk to us about AIE’s 8th Anniversary! Welcome!

Ok, we’ll be digging into our big anniversary show shortly, but first, let’s cover this week’s news...

AIE NEWS

(T)- Huge Congrats to Alachaas and Leontine on the birth of their level 1 human, Aria Rose. Daddy is a Tank, Mommy is a Hunter- word has it, sweet little Aria will be getting her account soon and will learn to heal so they can LFG as a family. Shadow Priest was mentioned, but we’ll see how that works out for them.

(M) - AIE is also celebrating as it’s our 8 year anniversary.

If you want to share your history with AIE, the is a google doc linked in the show notes and on the forums.

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1mlRhV-ZZWEUHrUoBWFTiF-EYccBevfB0FJTW5N9cuVs/viewform

AIE in WoW had two weekend events to honor this momentous occasion:

The ever lovely Nevermore held an in game Meet and Greet event yesterday, to celebrate Valentines day and the Love of AIE! It was a massive success, and an impromptu Warcraft Trivial Pursuit game broke out.

http://forum.myextralife.com/topic/55727-valentines-day-meet-greet-event/

And today, to share the love of PVP, Sparrow and crew ran an assault on Ashran with a might, fury and humor seldom seen on the field of battle. This event ran from 2-6 server time, and feedback from twitter indicates that this was an event enjoyed by all!

http://forum.myextralife.com/topic/55708-bloody-valentine-event-pvp/

(T) - In February 2007, Alea Iacta Est was formed by the creators and fans of several popular podcasts (a guy you may of heard of, Scott Johnston/Gerp -guy from The Instance and ELR, Randy/ Maui from the Instance, Veronica- Winema from Buzz out Loud, and Mahalo Daily, Len from Jawbone Radio, and the crew from WoW Addons.

AIE has gone through a few iterations- initially, the name of the guild was I Eat Babies, but that was quickly changed due to it not being family friendly- and Alea Iacta Est- Latin for “the Die has been Cast” was chosen as the new name. Before the start of Cataclysm, we were the largest guild in North America, though due to guild caps placed by Blizzard, we had to break into much smaller co-guilds. We are so large, we have 11 co-guilds, all bound together by the Greenwall created by our own robot and master planner, Stigg.

And with that, let’s get to Ralff and Stigg and talk about AIE in the past, present and future ...

Interiew/Discussion

Mkallah- Ralff and Stigg, thanks so much for joining us. Both of you have been in AIE for a long time, and have been a huge factor in our community - what brought you to AIE originally?

(Once they are done, the hosts can go around and answer the same topic)

Tetsemi - Due to our sheer number, AIE tends to be forced to create our own solutions to problems that Blizzard never anticipated - in fact, there are times that we have our own trending topic on Twitter, #AIIEproblems! Can you guys give us some insight on how we go about creating new tools, especially for AIE? What sort of iterative process do you go through from problem identification to solution and creation?

Mkallah- The fact that AIE is active, in and out of game, is a big part of our culture -

Stigg - what was your first real life AIE event and your most memorable?

Ralff - what was your first real life AIE event and your most memorable?

(once they are done, ask the same of the hosts)

WoW -

Mk - Blackrock Foundry Normal and Heroic and a World boss Rukhmar became available this past week.

Mythic difficulty for Blackrock Foundry becomes available this Tuesday, February 10th.

http://www.mmo-champion.com/content/4685-Blackrock-Foundry-Opens-this-Week

WatcherDev (Blizzard) explains Blackrock Foundry tuning -

Lead Game Designer Ion Hazzikostas took to the forums to better explain Blizzard’s philosophy on Blackrock Foundry’s difficulty tuning. If you’ve been raiding it this week, you probably noticed it’s a little harder to progress than Highmaul was at the beginning. According to Watcher, Blackrock Foundry is not meant to make Highmaul immediately obsolete. They still expect you to fully progress through Highmaul before you can realistically tackle Blackrock Foundry. Normal mode Highmaul had an expectation of players coming in with heroic dungeon gear, but Blackrock Foundry is tuned for players in full raid gear (including the first few “easy” bosses). Later bosses are tuned with even more player item level in mind

http://blizzardwatch.com/2015/02/06/watcher-explains-blackrock-foundry-tuning/

WoW Stable at 10+ Million Subscribers -

Blizzard had their Q4 2014 earning call recently and announcing that WoW was still at 10+ million subscribers at the end of 2014. This is the same as the mid November announcement that listed WoW at 10+ million subscribers.

http://www.mmo-champion.com/content/4694-WoW-Stable-at-10-Million-Subscribers

Alludra -And, in case you haven’t noticed- Love is in the Air - right now through February 16th, WOW’s annual Valentine’s Day event is in full swing. The Love is in the Air event offers a variety of rewards, including two mounts, two pets, and many achievements (One of which is totally impossible unless you have REALLY cool friends). Icy Veins has a great guide to you through everything you need to know to complete the event, which we have linked in the show notes.

http://www.icy-veins.com/wow/love-is-in-the-air-2015

Also, If you are a craft faire staff member, or are interested in the craft faire, there is a meeting at on February 13 at 10 pm server time. And if you want to help out with craft faire, whisper the mistress of the faire, Syreyne in game or DM her on the forums.

AIE Anniversary Events-

Tet- AIE’s official 8th anniversary is February 15, and plans are underway to celebrate the momentous occasion. Not only are we planning on having some huge guests for the show next Sunday, but the AIE officers and guildies are busy planning events for the celebration.

Nevermore has a meet and greet planned for Saturday 14, from noon to 2 server. Come celebrate AIE’s anniversary in mumble- learn more about the guild and your fellow guildies!

Sparrow is leading a PvP Event- the plan is to assault Ashran with a might, fury and humor seldom seen on the field of battle. A raid group will be started at 2pm server (other groups can be started as needed) and we will run the road, the events, and any rares that pop up in Ashran until 6pm server. If you have ever been confused or nervous about Ashran, this is the perfect opportunity to jump in and get your blade bloodied for the first time. If you are a long time pro this will be a great time for you as well, you can share your knowledge and expertise!

Please show your AIE pride and sport a guild tabard, feel free to drop guild banners as we go!

And remember, this is an all ages event, please keep mumble we will be representing our guild so play nice with the other (horde) kids in the playground. No need to sign up for this fun PVP event, just join AIELFG and send a message the day of the event, hop into mumble and ask for an invite, or whisper Sparrowhawk during the event.

http://forum.myextralife.com/topic/55708-bloody-valentine-event-pvp/

Have an idea for an event- any AIE member can start one- as long as there is no money involved (in or out of game) there is no need to ask for approval from the officers.

MK- EVE

Operation Frostbite is a go, I repeat- Operation Frostbite is a go!

Eve is currently in the middle of a huge mining operation. They just had one last weekend and have plans for another one the weekend of the 14 and 15th.

http://forum.myextralife.com/topic/55658-operation-frostbite/

In episode 76 of the Escape Pod Cast, Sema,Max, and Astromech EPC-76 talked about daily missions on Rishi and Yavin, their rewards, and how they compare to the other current dailies in the game. They also covered news for the week from SWTOR in general and, of course, AIE.

And right over there, we have Tetsemi (Ow! I think I hurt my spreadsheet). This week we are joined by special guests Dux who are here to talk to us about AIE in LOTRO. Welcome!

Ok, we’ll be digging into Lord of the Rings Online shortly, but first, let’s cover this week’s news...

AIE NEWS

Alludra - General news

Guildie of the Month- Arveshet AKA Arv from SWTOR

He's continually lead, maintained, and recently expanded the operations team he's been hosting for a year now and regularly helps any and all guildies with crafting, missions, general questions, etc. With the recent expansion he's done a bunch over the past couple weeks to help people get geared up and ready for the new operations. He hangs out in Mumble most nights ready to say hi, answer questions, or lend a hand. Let’s take a moment to congratulate Arv for all that he does for AIE. And remember, if you want to nominate a guildie of the month, the email address is [email protected]

The AIE fund-drive is still ongoing, right now, we are at 50% of our goal. Your donations help fund umami, the meetup site, mumble, plus we’re building up the reliability of the new infrastructure we implemented over the summer. You can still donate on the meetup.com site- also, if you want to plan an AIE event, meetup is the perfect place to do so.

http://forum.myextralife.com/topic/54640-2014-alea-iacta-est-fund-drive/

The Nomads aren’t roaming anywhere new in February, mostly because they are having too much fun in Minecraft! Lotwook may or may not of bought some minecraft hosting with the goal of running a Tekkit Server. If you are interested, hit him up on the Imperiam Ludi section of the forums.

http://forum.myextralife.com/topic/55530-minecraft-tekkit-server/

Tetsemi - WoW

Blackrock Foundry opens on February 4th with Normal and Heroic difficulties available, plus at the same time, World boss Rukhmar becomes available in Spires of Arak. On February 10th, Mythic difficulty becomes available. Raid Finder opens for Wing One on the 17th and Wing Two on the 24th.

http://forum.myextralife.com/topic/55597-blackrock-foundry-raid-february-4th/

Want to raid? Plenty of new and old raid teams are recruiting. And the benefit of being part of such a large guild is that there are raid every day of the week, at a wide number of times.

Hit up the team recruitment section of the AIE-Azeroth forums.

http://forum.myextralife.com/forum/13-team-recruitment/

The mistress of RP herself, Irontribe, has posted a WOW parody song- sung to the tune of the popular Let it Go! So, if you are tired of your kids singing the overplayed song from Frozen, take a look on the forums to get new lyrics stuck in your head.

Alludra - Guild Wars 2

Guild Wars 2 is currently 75% off- and on top of that, ArenaNet announced at PAX that a new expansion is on the way - Heart of the Thorns. There isn’t a release date yet, but right now we know that there is new profession specializations that open up a new weapon type, a new profession called the Revenant, a new zone- Heart of Maguuma, hang gliding, Guild vs Guild, new legendary items, and Guild Halls- not only a meeting place, but where you can also open up new raid. And thanks to Velinos on the forums for posting this information.

Tetsemi - Final Fantasy-

www.world-alerts.com has a tool that will scan when the servers are allowing new characters to be created and when it is, it will send you an email. Neat little tool if you are still looking on getting on Gilgamesh to hang with AIE.

As a class they have tank, DPS and support specs.

As they build up Wrath they can skin-change into a bear to unlock more powerful abilities.

A new Epic Battle: Pelargir. Originally a solo/duo instance, it has now been expanded to a six person group.

You infiltrate the city with Elrond’s twin sons, Elladan and Elrohir in an attempt to open the gates to Aragorn forces.

Pelargir was founded in the Second Age but the Numenoreans and is a major port city on the Anduin, south of Minas Tirith.

A new region: Central Gondor, with three new zones:

Ringlo Vale: here you can see the clouds from Mount Doom casting darkness on the ground.

Dor-en-Ernil: coastal area, with a hidden sand-castle, and lots of Corsairs (pirates).

Lebennin: many enemy camps, and the city of Pelargir itself in near ruins.

The Epic Story continues in Volume IV: Book 2, starting in Dol Amroth

Many class, and game tweaks.

Update 15.1:

Essence changes: one unique essence per character, not per gear item.

Beorning, along with other class tweaks.

Instance tweaks

AIE NEWS

WoW:

World of Warcraft recently sent out a surprise gift to users who have been subscribed to continually for 10 years- an amazing replica of the bronze Orc statue that stands in the courtyard at Blizzard HQ in Irvine. Didn’t receive one- don’t worry, neither did we- but lots of AIE guildies have.

In World of Warcraft, there are rumors that a Spring Craft Faire is in the works. Please keep an eye on the Professions forums (use the forums) for more details as it becomes available. If you would like to help out with the craft please contact Syreyne in game or on the forums (use the forums) to volunteer.

http://forum.myextralife.com/forum/23-professions/

A friendly reminder for all guildies in WoW, as well, please utilize the AIELFG channel (not AIELFO) for organizing raids/dungeons/world bosses/PvP groups, etc. It is an open channel that the rest of the server does have access to and utilize as well, so show the AIE love and help folks out. You can join the channel by typing in your chat box /join AIELFG.

Don’t forget the Thank a Guildmate Thread as well. Someone help you out with a quest or question? Let them know they’re awesome - [email protected] http://forum.myextralife.com/topic/53240-thank-a-guildmate-thread/

EvE:

The Secret World:

Ratto Zatto has posted a link to the State of the Game for December/January from the developers in our forums (use the forums). In addition, there is also a review of what happened in the previous year in TSW, so it’s a good catch up read - http://forum.myextralife.com/topic/55565-state-of-the-game-decemberjanuary/

Lord of the Rings Online:

Need a rep item or several? Dux has put more items in the guild house chest for all to use, check the forum post if you have items to contribute or need - http://forum.myextralife.com/topic/55462-rep-items/

So, everyone- what have been the hightlights of your year in AIE?

Real Life Events AIE Went to

Nerdactular 2014- the annual gathering of Frogpants community happened in Utah in July. This is an amazing two day event- though, most of us got there early and stayed late. If you have never been to Nerdtacular, you need the make the trek- the 2015 event is scheduled for July 31 and August 1st.

DragonCon 2014- Labor Day weekend brought Dragoncon- and lots of AIE guildies were able to attend- including Nicole Spagnolo and Brian Ibbot that ran the podcast track

Blizzcon 2014 (Guild Hall) - Days of fun and nerddom during the Blizzard Almost yearly event and the game that started it all for AIE. AIE General-

We moved from Ventrillo to Mumble. While it took some getting used to, Mumble has a number of benefits, including the fact that everyone uses their own umami log in, so we do not have to regularly update the password.

AIE NEWS

OPEN

Mkallah - Welcome to episode # 220 of the the podcast celebrating the Alea Iacta Est gaming community. This is Mkallah. Rght over there, we have Tetsemi (Welcome to World of Garrison Craft where your followers play the game better than you do!). And the awesome Alludra is off digging in the dirt for more pets! First off, we want to apologize for the sporadic podcasts the last few weeks- this time of the year makes it hard to record- or even, evidently, post the normal show. Thanks you, Alachaas and Hunts, for stepping in last week. That is all in the past, though- This week we are joined by special guests Rattozatto who is here to talk to us about AIE in The Secret World. Welcome!

Ok, we’ll be digging into The Secret World shortly, but first, let’s cover this week’s news...

AIE NEWS

Tetsemi - General:

Did you get an Xbox or PS4 for the holidays? If so, there are threads in the AIE community sections of the forums listing IDs. Also, there are lots of smaller games either ongoing or starting up all of the time, see the Imperium Ludi section of the forum for more details.

You acn also follow @AIENomads on twitter or check out the forums at http://forum.myextralife.com/forum/74-aie-nomads/ for all the information. I’m sure with all the games received over the holidays they will be picking up their roaming ways after the new year.

Shimmeredge has started a great thread on the forums- just asking- Are you Okay? A lot of us have problems- especially this time of the year, and it is nice to have a place to just vent, talk, give and get virtual hugs, etc.

And just for fun- Snaf wants to know what you got for Christmas! Reading the thread, it looks like a lot of AIE was indulged in some great geeky holiday gifts. So guys, what did you enjoy the most this season?

Mkallah: - WoW:

In pet news, Blizzard is celebrating Winter Veil by offering holiday savings of 50% on select World of Warcraft mounts and pets. Through January 5, 2015, take advantage of somg great deals in the Battle.net Shop. And the best thing is that all of these pets and mounts are fully giftable.

Did someone go out of their way to help you in game? Made your day by queueing with you one more time in an LFR? Don’t forget the Thank a Guildmate thread. Also, the AIE officers in ALL games are always looking for new Guildies of the month- they can be reached at [email protected]. We try to announce our all star at the first of every month. And this is not limited to WOW- we want to hear about great guildies in all of the games AIE play.

Always wanted to try raiding, but were afraid to start- or has your old team disbanded? Many new raid teams are forming, as well as existing ones looking for new players.

Tetsemi - LOTR-:

For the Hobbitsis annd other citizens of MIddle Earth- Dux has been kind enough to deposit a bunch of rep items for the 'Men of Bree' and the 'Mathom Society' into the house chest.

SWTOR:

AIE in SWTOR had a 3rd year anniversary celebration with a World Boss Hunt and holiday music, rumor has it there were presents as well.

Did you know that @AIESema and @MaxTheGrey have their own podcast for SWTOR? Take a listen at https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/swtor-escape-pod-cast/id698366490?mt=2 or look at http://www.newoverlords.com/category/listen/ . SWTOR Escape Pod Cast going 70 episodes strong.

Mkallah - STO:

Star Trek Online still on sale during the Steam Winter Sale

Starter packs are 50% off and the Delta Rising Operations pack is 20% off.

FF XIV:

Our FC house now has a Starlight tree out front

Tetsemi - EVE Online:

A lot of the information from EVE comes from the Slack group, if you play EVE and are in AIE, make sure you sign up for this great service and app. And if you have not heard from Slack already, AIEU will be tax-free for the holiday week, until January 2nd 2015. Get your tax-free ratting in while you can, the tax rate will be raised come 2015. Also, effective immediately, AIEU's new home in GJ0-OJ. What this actually means is that after looking at the jump bridge map, jump freighter ranges, and "closely scrutinizing", Hoots made the decision to move our home base from QETZ-W to GJ0-OJ for a couple of reasons. Chiefly, we will serve to bump up activity in the region and give Brave and HERO eyes on any potential encroachming fleets from Tenerifis. Additionally, it'll put us closer (via jump bridge) to our Brave staging in GE-8JV.

And with that, let’s get back to Rattozatto and find out what’s going on in The Secret World...

GAME NEWS

The Secret World is on sale on Steam during the Winter Sales event until Janurary 2nd. 25% off the game, 20% off of the Funcom Complete pack (Age of Conan: Unchained – Crush Your Enemies Pack, Dreamfall: The Longest Journey, The Longest Journey, The Secret World) and 25% off of Buy the Secret World: Massive Edition which is the full game plus Issue 5, 6 and 7.

Issue #10 came out, and everything got interesting!

The addition of the AEGIS shield system was added. This adds an additional level of mitigation and survivability against all the monsters in Kaiden, but especially in the Southern section of the map.

New NPCs have been introduced, and as usual, great references are made (Get your paws off me, you damn dirty ape!).

The new Nightmare zone has been added to Kaiden, adding both practice with the new AEGIS shield system, as well as a new area to work on farming Signets to upgrade your gear.

The 2014 Christmas event addition follows tradition, by not being a stereotypical Santa story. Stonemasons, The Magic Flute, and the return of a purple menace!

Haven’t been on in a while? A great place to catch up is to follow the Story Mission that is always tracked among your mission list. Also, following the Story Mission will wind around all the locations of each map, so you will interact with all the quest givers.

Happy Third Anniversary to AIE in SWTOR! And going on tonight at 9pm Eastern is the anniversary celebration! Max and the crew plan on a World Boss Hunt, holiday music, and there is a rumor of presents. The plan is to start out on the Imperial side and meet on the guild ship and then move to then move back and forth to the Repub side depending on interest.

SWTOR 2014 Life Day event is running from Dec 16 2014 to Jan 6, 2015, and there are many great rewards, mounts, and pets (where is Alludra when you need her). Snow-Covered Parcels are the main currency used in this event. You get them randomly by throwing the Life Day Snowball Bomb at other players with a 15% chance to receive parcels.

AIE NEWS

A: We all know that The AIE Podcast is your favorite podcast ever, but do you listen to other podcasts? Lane on the forums wants to know! Head on over to find out what other people are listening to and throw out your suggestions of other great shows!

World of warcraft

Beefmaster: World of warcraft is kicking off the feast of winterveil on tuesday december 16th! That means decorations, gifts, and of course quests! Get in and join in on the fun until friday January 2nd!

Alludra: LFR Opened last tuesday to a somewhat underwhelming response. Turns out most heroics are harder then the first wing of LFR, which has left some people wondering what’s up with that? Personally I think that an LFR where inattentive people can’t mess it up for everyone is a great thing! We will see if the difficulty ramps up with the new wings opening.

SWTOR

Beef: The SWTOR expansion Shadow of Revan launched on December 9th! Remember this is a ton of new content, including 5 new levels, New storyline content, new worlds to explore and tons more fun that we have come to expect from the swtor group!

A: And while we are celebrating good things for SWTOR, December 10th marked the game’s 3 year anniversary! (Wow, has it really been that long?) Items have been discounted an you can get free decorations from now until January 12th, 2015! So don’t forget to log in and have some fun!

Final fantasy

B: Final fantasy has released the long awaited ‘marriage’ patch, which is suprisingly robust. While the game offers a free version of the wedding or bonding ceremonies, you can also pay real money to unlock new color options, wedding gifts for up to 80 guests, and more elaborate decorations. So if you want to go all out for your vertual wedding head on over to sign up and get the ball and chain rolling!

And with that, let’s get back to Beefmaster and find out what’s going on in Steam...

GAME NEWS

Greetings from the Summer of Steve sales! I mean the Steamy hottub of the Summer of Steve Winter sale!

Paypal Japan leaked that the sale will begin December 18th. 1pm EST!

Site was fairly bogged down for the first 30 minutes during the summer sale. but both the web and moblie apps should update and function.

Tips from Steve to sale correctly:

Historically there are sale items that are discounted “slightly” throughout the sale, daily sale items that are moderately discounted for 48 hours, flash sales that last 8 hours, and community “you must log in constantly and vote” sale items.

There are tricks to navigating the maze of sale options. Steve says “hold out for the flash sale items!” you have 48 hours to ponder the daily sales, and traditionally the final day of the sale you will see everything discounted from daily sales, re discounted.

Now to discuss the gimmick! Steam will offer the chance to earn a Winter sale badge. You will earn trading cards from voting in the community sales, buying games, etc. You typically need to match 10 specific cards to earn the badge. and the badge will gift you with emoji, profile backgrounds, and various ohhh and ahh items.

You can also trade duplicate cards with friends or buy them on the Steam Marketplace. Cards typically sell for .15-.25 cents after the initial rush. Pro tip from Steve. if you want to just buy them, add a balance NOW!. Steam will hold the funds for a few days before you can use them. IE dont wait till the end of the sale! Also use the AIE group trading forum post and your friends list

there will also be some sort of game to play. last summer you were given a team and were competing against the millions of steamers around the world for bonuses. so make sure to get involved the first day.

Pro tip #8 keep your wishlist up to date. Give others good info to give you good givings.

Other sites to keep tabs on, quite often they hold competing sales and sometimes even better deals come up.

AIE NEWS

AIE General

You probably know that AIE was founded by people who have a great love of podcasts, but you may not realize just how many podcasts our AIE members listen to. If you’re looking to find more podcasts, or if you want to share your favorite podcasts with the rest of AIE, check out AIE community member Lane’s “Other Podcasts You Listen To” post in the forums. It is full of great ways to make your ears happy.

Just a reminder for some of our newer members who may not be used to how AIE handles chat. Our guild chat is not like most guilds. We aim to keep chat family-friendly, and not let it become an annoyance that distracts from the game, and with up to several hundred people in chat at the same time, that means we have to limit how it is used.

To quote the AIE policy on guild communications...

Any formatting of messages to draw attention over other messages in chat is prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to:

all capitals for words other than acronyms,

character substitution (i.e., "1337sp34|<"), (“leetspeak”)

repetition of messages.

Members may not use macros or add-ons to generate messages in chat channels. Macros may only be employed by officers for administrative purposes.

Members engaging in topics or styles of discussion that are disruptive, immature, or better suited for alternate venues will be asked to take their discussions to private channels. Officers will not debate this in chat or whisper.

These rules cover all open chat channels, whether it’s guild chat or any of the common rooms in Mumble. Private chat channels, like ones you might create in game or any of the channels marked Do Not Disturb (DND) in Mumble, do allow some amount of adult conversation - as long as every member of the channel agrees, so make sure you know your audience, and don’t drop into a DND channel uninvited. This topic pops up in the forums every few months, and the best way to respond is to send people to the guild policy, which is in the guild wiki. If you have any questions or feedback about our chat policy, please email the officers at [email protected]

AIE Wow

Looking to Raid in Warlords, the team recruitment section of the forums has been busy! Many new and returning raid groups are looking for members. Take a look, sign up and get ready to show the Iron Horde who is the boss.

Thanksgiving has passed, but there is no better time to thank a guildie!! There is great thread on the forums started by the Mistress of RP Irontamed a while back, thanking members of AIE for doing what we do best- being super helpful and wonderful. Want to do more- we are always taking nominations for Guildie of the Month- please email [email protected] if you want to nominate that special member of AIE that has gone above and beyond!

Just a reminder, the darkmoon faire is up and running! Rep and XP boosts abound as well as a chance at free points for your professions. Take advantage from now until the 14th!

Also, don’t forget that world of warcraft’s 10th birthday event is still going on from now until January 5th. Level 100’s get the dubious privilege of running molten core for not only an epic helm and corehound mount, but also a chance at the great mini hatespark pet and a cosmetic enchant. The last two are, sadly not a guaranteed drop. yay...

AIE EVE Online

Last week we reminded everyone about the importance of using FleetUp.com to stay abreast of all the missions, ship fittings, and more. This week, Lanctharus has posted a Help Wanted sign, looking for a volunteer to post and maintain the AIE and BRAVE Coalition fleet doctrines up on the AIE FleetUp site. If you’d like to be a big help to the spreadsheets in space gang, give Lanctharus a shout for more information. The position is open to any corporation member in good standing. AIE is an equal opportunity employer, although Spies need not apply.

AIE Star Trek Online

Q’s Winter wonderland is Live! Now through January 16, Star Trek Online is celebrating their annual winter event- this time, the manipulative Q has returned with with fun, games, festive foods, and gingerbread villages in need of saving from evil Borg assimilated snow monsters. Many new trinkets, costumes, and other prizes are being added for the seasonal festivities, but most important is the Breen Sarr Theln Carriet (T6). This massive and impressive new vessel has gotten a complete facelift in preparation for being released to the players.

And with that, let’s get back to Max and Jonathan and find out what’s going on in SWTOR...

AIE Star Wars: The Old Republic with Max and Jonathan
