Memorial Day was this week, and it led me to think of a trip that I took late last year to the Pacific Northwest. This was a pilgrimage to visit one of my best friends from the Marine Corps, who died almost a decade ago. I wrote a blog post where I talk about that trip, the life of my friend, and the lessons that I learned from him. I also released an episode of The Blog Readings (TBR) where I share it. And since Memorial Day was this week, I wanted to share it again in an encore presentation. Today on the podcast I'm joined by Sander Van Den Broecke, the creator and author of the travel blog Ars Currendi (Latin, meaning The Art of Traveling). . This is a milestone episode, as Sander is the youngest guest to come on the podcast thus far. As of the recording of this episode, he is 21 years old. And even at such a young age, he's already covered a lot of ground as a traveler. . Sander has traveled to many countries around Europe. With his first solo travel experience being to Dublin, Ireland when he was just 18. Since then he's also made it to parts of Asia. Currently he resides in his home country of Belgium, where he studies English, Spanish, and Dutch at university. . In this episode Sander shares some of his experiences as a young traveler. He tells about his time in Dublin and some of the challenges that he faced. As well as his trip to Japan, a place that we both have been to. I don't believe that there is such thing as a perfect trip. When traveling, something is inevitably going to go wrong. Today on the podcast I'm join by Sam Reyes, creator and author of the travel blog The Out of Office. Sam has covered a lot of ground as a traveler. With some of her early experiences being studying abroad in Costa Rica, and volunteering in South Africa.
