The AMPire Diaries

The AMPire Diaries Episode 17: “By the Light of the Moon” | “The Descent”

Hey, hey, hey, AMPies! Moving along on this Vampire Diaries rewatch-slash-first-time watch (and mostly spoiler-free) combination podcast, we’re talking about “By the Light of the Moon” (Season 2, Episode 11) and “The Descent” (Season 2, Episode 12).

We get quite rowdy in this episode, and this week, we’re talking:

- Jill’s #1 boy, Tyler Lockwood.

- The years in which cast members were born.

- Jill’s #1 boy, Tyler Lockwood.

- Elijah saying “hey.”

- Lauren Cohan… good at acting? (Yes.)

- The Trevino Train vs. The Roerig… Rickshaw

- Jill’s #1 boy, Tyler Lockwood.

- 'Dana Is The New Tiki.'

- Woof Gang.

- The Florida Truck.

- And of course, Jill’s #1 boy, Tyler Lockwood.

Also, stick around for a post-credits scene—if you want to hear more from resident boy, Michael Chasin (@MichaelChasin), that is.

“TYLER FACES HIS FIRST TRANSFORMATION” (“By the Light of the Moon”)

“DOOM, GLOOM AND PERSONAL GROWTH” (“The Descent”)

The more AMPED logline this time around? The logline for “The Descent” totally just steals a line of dialogue from Damon… and for that, we are reminded that cheaters always win. “The Descent” wins this week.

Whether you’re a Vampire Diaries obsessive or newcomer, join along with hosts LaToya Ferguson (@lafergs—Vampire Diaries obsessive), Morgan Lutich (@LorganMutich—Vampire Diaries obsessive), and Jill Defiel (@jiilbobaggins—Vampire Diaries newcomer) on their new podcast journey. Most importantly, get AMPED (and horny) along with them on this journey. Ya gotta get AMPED.

The AMPire Diaries Episode 16: “Katerina” | “The Sacrifice”

Dear AMPies: LET MEN HAVE CHEST HAIR! Wait. Sorry. That demand was for The CW. Let’s try this again…

Dear AMPies: LET’S GET THIS D. What “D,” exactly? Well, that’s up for interpretation, according to this episode of The AMPire Diaries. And Moving along on this Vampire Diaries rewatch-slash-first-time watch (and mostly spoiler-free) combination podcast, we’re talking “Katerina” (Season 2, Episode 9) and “The Sacrifice” (Season 2, Episode 10).

This week, we’re talking:

- How much Jill hated these episodes but especially “Katerina.”

And that’s it. That’s the most pressing matter.

“KATHERINE’S PAST IS REVEALED” (“Katerina”)

“JEREMY MAKES A DANGEROUS MISTAKE” (“The Sacrifice”)

The more AMPED logline this time around? LOL, let’s give Jeremy a win this time. He’ll need it after this episode. (We are… not kind.) “The Sacrifice,” it is.

Hello, AMPies! This week in this horny Vampire Diaries rewatch-slash-first-time watch (and mostly spoiler-free) combination podcast, we’re dropping two new episodes! First up is this, our first-ever mailbag episode, with questions, comments, and concerns from our beautiful AMPies. As always, this is an overly-long chaotic discussion about all things Vampire Diaries.

(Later today, you’ll get also get the highly-anticipated 16th episode of The AMPire Diaries, covering “Katerina” and “The Sacrifice.”)

***SPOILER WARNING*** This episode has vague spoilers for the rest of Season 2, as well as Season 3 of The Vampire Diaries. Mostly about the names of people who Damo hooks up with moving forward… but we also bring up “Klaroline” (if you know, you know) pretty early on. So proceed with caution, AMPies.

***DUMMY WARNING*** So, naturally, we didn’t realize until the editing process that maybe we (okay, me—it’s me, LaToya) shouldn’t have said the full names of AMPies on the pod… so please excuse the jerkiness of editing after saying our AMPies' first names.

The AMPire Diaries Episode 15: “Masquerade” | “Rose” (feat. Michael Chasin)

Let’s go, AMPies. Moving along on this Vampire Diaries rewatch-slash-first-time watch (and mostly spoiler-free) combination podcast, we’re talking “Masquerade” (Season 2, Episode 7) and “Rose” (Season 2, Episode 8). And we’re doing so with The AMPire Diaries’ resident boy, Michael Chasin (@MichaelChasin), making his official return to the podcast. Yes, he brings “Boy Corner” back.

This week, we’re talking:

- The Trevino Train. Choo choo.

- Dick Lockwood’s masquerade-based legacy.

- Can human children… kill Katherine?

- “The gayest scene we’ve had on the show so far.”

- Katherine’s Elena impression.

- Jill’s revulsion when it comes to even the idea of Bonnie and Jeremy together.

- Our eulogy for Aimee Bradley.

- The official introduction of a new segment called, “Who wants The D?”

- Plans C through Z.

- Teen Wolf, the motion picture!

- More about how much we love Mason Lockwood, even though he’s dead..

- Why it’s actually good to gaslight Tyler…

- Wait, what kind of phone can you Bing things on?

- WHO ARE THE ORIGINALS?!?

- Elijah, a man among boys.

- Some scene with Damon and Elena. Whatever. (Wink wink.)

Also, LaToya and Morgan do accents. Jill and Michael… do not.

“DEATH AT THE MASQUERADE BALL” (“Masquerade”)

“AN ANCIENT PRESENCE IN MYSTIC FALLS ” (“Rose”)

The more AMPED logline this time around? Considering our two male leads could also count as “an ancient presence” and the deaths at the Masquerade Ball have still got us AMPED, gotta go with “Masquerade.”

The AMPire Diaries Episode 14: “Kill or Be Killed” | “Plan B”

AMPies, we’re moving along on this Vampire Diaries rewatch-slash-first-time watch (and mostly spoiler-free) combination podcast to talk about “Kill or Be Killed” (Season 2, Episode 5) and “Plan B” (Season 2, Episode 6). Two episodes that absolutely rock… and roll. What, exactly do we talk about in this week’s episode? A lot of things, but most importantly, this is officially the episode where Jill declares her undying love to her boy (she calls him “my boy”), her man (she calls him “my man”): Tyler Lockwood.

Also, we finally take things easy on Damo this week. (Sort of.)

“MASON’S PAST IS REVEALED ” (“Kill or Be Killed”)

“KATHERINE CHOOSES A NEW VICTIM” (“Plan B”)

The more AMPED logline this time around? Katherine’s new victim, baby! Gotta go with “Plan B.”

The AMPire Diaries Episode 13: “Bad Moon Rising” | “Memory Lane”

Yo, AMPies! We’re keeping it moving on on this Vampire Diaries rewatch-slash-first-time watch (and mostly spoiler-free) combination podcast, with “Bad Moon Rising” (Season 2, Episode 3) and “Memory Lane” (Season 2, Episode 4). This honestly might be my (hey, it’s LaToya!) favorite episode of the podcast yet. This week, we’re talking:

- Morgan’s dad and the people and things he likes.

- Our ultimate goal to be the least listened to podcast ever.

- Caroline's Ed Hardy shirt in “Bad Moon Rising.”

- “BEAUTIFUL ANTEBELLUM ARCHITECTURE."

- Just how fake of a name is “Vanessa Monroe?”

- The Sun and the Moon Curse!

- Who do we want to smooch more? Zach Roerig or Michael Trevino?

- Does Stefan know the risk? Does he have to know her?

- Wait, a Smart Guy reboot starring which character?!?

- Elena + Tyler = Best Friends

- Did the Confederacy win? No? Still lost? Okay.

- Jill’s ranking of the Twilight movies.

- Jill’s war on flashbacks.

- When you want to date someone... do you let them kidnap you?

Also, see if you can spot where we went on (and I removed) a tangent about The CW's Reign. And make sure to listen to the closing theme, because it is very, very special.

“STEFAN FACES A NEW DANGER” (“Bad Moon Rising”)

“DAMON MAKES A DANGEROUS ENEMY” (“Memory Lane”)

The more AMPED logline this time around? Honestly? They’re kind of the same thing? But “a new danger” seems more troubling, so “Bad Moon Rising” it is.

The AMPire Diaries Episode 12: “The Return” | “Brave New World” (Season 2 Premiere)

AMPies—it’s Season 2, baby! That’s right, moving along on this Vampire Diaries rewatch-slash-first-time watch (and mostly spoiler-free) combination podcast, we’re finally watching LaToya’s favorite season! In this supersized AMPire Diaries episode, we’re talking about “The Return” (Season 2, Episode 1) and “Brave New World” (Season 2, Episode 2). Why, exactly, is it supersized? Well, we’ve gotta talk:

- Who’s hotter: Elena or Katherine?

- Vampire blood sciences.

- Do we hate Bonnie yet?

- Why is being mean to Damo soooo funny?

- Which Sex and the City characters represent Katherine, Pearl, Anna, and Emily. (Call us, Julie Plec.)

- “Doppelganger,” “heightened,” and the moonstone!

- Steve the Squirrel Eater.

- “Emo Little Bitch” t-shirts: Yay or Nay?

- Jacked Jeremy.

- The fact that Jill actually wrote this season of The Vampire Diaries.

- Morgan's apology to Jeremy Gilbert stans.

- The elephant in the room when it comes to Damo and Caroline...

- HOT TAKES!!!

- Morgan and LaToya's friendship origin story.

- LaToya's mortality.

- The burden of not spoiling Jill, despite the fact that she wrote this season of television.

-

And that’s just a taste of it.

“KATHERINE RETURNS WITH A VENGEANCE” (“The Return”)

“THE CARNIVAL FROM HELL” (“Brave New World”)

The more AMPED logline this time around? Katherine. Returns. With. A. Vengeance. “The Return,” it is.

The AMPire Diaries Episode 11: “Isobel” | “Founder’s Day” (Season 1 Finale)

Hello, AMPies! This week in this horny Vampire Diaries rewatch-slash-first-time watch (and mostly spoiler-free) combination podcast, we’re talking “Isobel” (Season 1, Episode 21) and the misplaced apostrophe-loving “Founder’s Day” (Season 1, Episode 22). The latter is, of course, the Season 1 finale of The Vampire Diaries, so you know this is a Very Special Episode. In this episode alone, your favorite hosts:

- Continue to pretend that they know anything about The L-Word

- Delve deeper into “ThE gILbErT cHaRm”

- Give The Vampire Diaries a new name, thus allowing at least one of your hosts to further appreciate the show (It’s LaToya, as she only likes shows with “town” in the title now.)

- Question why they love this Confederate-loving show so much

- Say a lot of other stuff they don’t want to spoil in the show notes

- Look back on some of their favorite episodes and needle drops from The Vampire Diaries Season 1

And you can probably guess it, but… They’re already AMPED for Season 2.

“ISOBEL RETURNS TO MYSTIC FALLS” (“Isobel”)

“THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING, WITH AN ENDING THAT WILL LEAVE YOU HANGING” (“Founder’s Day”)

The more AMPED logline this time around? Honestly, considering the whole Confederacy thing mentioned here and in this AMPire Diaries episode, the “Founder’s Day” logline has kind of ended up disqualifying itself. So, “Isobel” is more amped by default.

The AMPire Diaries Episode 10: “Miss Mystic Falls” | “Blood Brothers”

Moving along on this Vampire Diaries rewatch-slash-first-time watch (and mostly spoiler-free) combination podcast, we’re talking about “Miss Mystic Falls” (Season 1, Episode 19) and “Blood Brothers” (Season 1, Episode 20). This time around, the gals are talkin’ “ThE gILbErT cHaRm,” loving one trash man, how “Miss Mystic Falls” is like HBO’s Run, GIUSEPPE, and the Buffy the Vampire Slayer episode “Amends.” See? A lot of Vampire Diaries talk.

ALSO: LaToya and Morgan end up potentially getting both themselves and the podcast canceled in this episode. Please stick around to the end to see if they convince you not to cancel them.

“A GALA SO BLOODY, YOU'LL BE WEARING RED” (“Miss Mystic Falls”)

“THE HATRED BEGINS, IN THE PAST” (“Blood Brothers”)

The more AMPED logline this time around? HOLY SHIT, “Miss Mystic Falls” is absolutely AMPED.

Whether you’re a Vampire Diaries obsessive or newcomer, join along with hosts LaToya Ferguson (Vampire Diaries obsessive), Morgan Lutich (Vampire Diaries obsessive), and Jill Defiel (Vampire Diaries newcomer) on their new podcast journey. Most importantly, get AMPED (and horny) along with them on this journey. Ya gotta get AMPED.

The AMPire Diaries Episode 9: “Let The Right One In” | “Under Control” (feat. Michael Chasin)

Moving along on this Vampire Diaries rewatch-slash-first-time watch (and mostly spoiler-free) combination podcast, we’re talking about “Let The Right One In” (Season 1, Episode 17) and “Under Control” (Season 1, Episode 18). The AMPire Diaries’ resident boy, Michael Chasin, makes his official debut on the podcast as a guest, and thus marks the start of several brand new bits, such as: teen death wish rankings, “slurp,” and what will now be known as “Boy Corner.”

“STEFAN, DAMON, ALARIC AND ELENA AGAINST TOMB VAMPIRES” (“Let The Right One In”)

“UNCLE JOHN AND HIS DARK SECRETS” (“Under Control”)

The more AMPED logline this time around? It’s got to go to the more AMPED episode, “Let The Right One In.”
