While Black Lives Matter Activists try to slander and defund the police we’ve brought you one of our favorite law enforcement officers on this week’s episode of the Ann & Phelim Scoop!  Today we are joined by the REAL Detective Jim Wood who was played by Dean Cain in our movie Gosnell that so many of you are familiar with.  We are honored to have him on this special Independence Day episode!

We talk with Jim about everything from Gosnell to the civil unrest spreading throughout the country. Jim takes us back to the beginning of the narcotics investigation that uncovered Gosnell’s gruesome abortion operation. He discusses the most important parts of the case and what it was like to slap the handcuffs on the abortion doctor when he was finally arrested for the murder of thousands of lives.

Jim also discusses his perspective on the latest civil unrest and protests over the past several weeks. Spoiler alert - he is no fan of the liberal politicians allowing this chaos to continue. We round out the interview asking Jim about his favorite thing to cook and he shares with us why The Untouchables is his favorite movie. In celebration of this holiday week, we end the episode in our backyard, where Ann shares a delicious recipe for a refreshing Gin and Tonic.

We are not happy.  After three months of torture from unelected government bureaucrats it feels like we are going all the way back to the full lockdown we had just a few weeks ago.  Except it's worse because we know none of these new rules are based on science.  Los Angeles County has closed all of their beaches for the July 4th weekend.  Governor Gavin Newsom has mandated that several counties close their bars, wineries, and nightclubs.  And yet not too long ago these politicians were promoting mass protests in the streets.  But if you ask them whether the rise in cases could be contributed to the Black Lives Matter protests -- they roll their eyes and blame the bars.  It is complete madness. 

On today's episode we examine the rollback of reopening in states like California, Arizona, Florida, and Texas.  We also take a look at a Texas doctor's analysis of what is really happening in the new "hot spot" where cases have risen.  It's not what the media wants you to believe.  These new cases are much younger, healthier, and some barely even present symptoms.

The media is in an absolute frenzy trying to prompt another lockdown.  It's true that coronavirus cases have risen in many states but it is likely the result of increased testing.  Additionally, should we be surprised that reopening has lead to more cases of the virus?  The lockdown was never intended to stop transmission, it was to stop hospitals from being overloaded. 

Additionally, since the peak of the virus, the daily death toll has dropped 90% in the United States.  For some reason the media doesn't want to cover that important statistic . . .

It can get more ridiculous.  A new article in the Washington Post is now blaming Fox News, Sean Hannity, and Tucker Carlson for coronavirus deaths.  But not all murderers are equal!  The Post tries their best to blame one Fox News host for the more virus deaths than the other.  We break down this bogus article from the Washington Post -- can you believe they even published this?!

Texas is slowing down their reopening and the leftist blue check marks are in a frenzy trying to blame Republican governors.  The truth is, Governor Andrew Cuomo STILL has the most deaths worst coronavirus response in the country.   We break down the numbers and compare the new "hot spots" to the original New York disaster.

Also on todays episode we examine who is actually sick from the coronavirus.  As you know, the media is clamoring about the rise in cases across the country -- but are those cases people who are actually ill from the virus?  Not necessarily!

If you ask Phelim, he'll tell you he thinks it's very unlikely that we will see any presidential debates this year.  He might be right because the University of Michigan has cancelled their plans to host one of the debates this year due to the coronavirus.  Will other universities follow their lead?  We discuss whether we will be able to see the candidates battle out their ideas on stage or if the debates will be cancelled altogether. 

In some interesting news the Buzzfeed building in Santa Monica is for sale.  Buzzfeed was once one of the hottest outlets on the media scene.  Now they're laying off workers and selling their posh campus in Santa Monica.  We explain why it's not so surprising that Buzzfeed is being forced to downsize. 

Today we examine some bizarre coronavirus regulations from New Hampshire.  A liberal independent bookstore in New Hampshire is opening by appointment only and they have some very silly new rules for customers who want to shop . . .

Also on today's episode we take a look at the impact of the pandemic on schools, the struggling cruise industry, and the federal guidelines that Governor Hot Spot may have broken when he readmitted COVID patients into nursing homes. 

The media's fear tactics are growing as coronavirus cases rise in many states.  Of course, there's much more to the story!  We examine the latest in The New York Times and explain how their selective reporting could be contributing unnecessarily to the fear surrounding the "uptick" in cases.  It makes us wonder why the establishment aren't working to fully dedicating our resources to protecting the elderly and at risk populations instead of pushing fear tactics on the total population. 

Over the weekend we saw the effect of the media's fear tactics.  Restaurants in Los Angeles are slow and it makes us wonder how big of an economic downturn we are about to face.  With factory production slowing and people staying home -- how bad will the economy get?

We also examine one of the biggest myths about the coronavirus -- is it racist?  Many "thinkers" at outlets like the Guardian are claiming that the virus is racist and has a much bigger impact on minorities.  Is that true?

Also on today's episode we take a look at quarantine "PTSD," the effectiveness of social distancing, and the mass of migration out of New York City.

Economic destruction . . . excess deaths . . . any sane person would be wary of another COVID-19 lockdown but the media is begging for the economy to be shutdown again.  They're telling stories of "case and hospitalization" spikes that have no direct correlation to the severity of the virus.  On today's episode we debunk the media's hysteria and examine the legitimacy of the media's claims about statistics in states like Texas and Arizona.  

We also examine the repercussions of the last lockdown which has led to numerous "excess deaths" across the world.   Excess deaths are deaths that have occurred during the lockdown that are not of COVID that would not have happened normally. 

It's clear politicians are also trying their best to keep the fear and panic porn at an all time high.  Governor Gavin Newsom has announced a mandatory mask mandate for the entire state of California.  This new update comes after counties like Orange County were beginning to repeal their mask mandates.

After what appeared to be a massive flip-flop on the effectiveness of masks to prevent the spread of coronavirus, Dr. Fauci has finally admitted to lying about the use of masks.  Earlier this year Dr. Fauci told Americans on 60 minutes that wearing a mask was not an effective way to prevent the spread of the virus.  Later, he changed his mind and encouraged all Americans to wear a mask.  Now Dr. Fauci has said that his earlier hesitations about mask usage were to prevent a shortage for healthcare workers.  

Also on today's episode we examine a silly clip from Cuomo Prime Time which centers on a group of friends who contracted the coronavirus after heading out to the bars to celebrate a friends birthday.  While Cuomo attempts to push "panic porn" by repeating "all of you got sick" -- the group admits that only two of them contracted flu like symptoms.  You've got to hear this clip - which may actually bring us some good news . . .
