You can't go to church and you can't have a funeral for your loved one . . . but politicians can!  The late Representative John Lewis' funeral was a shocking display of how the left will break their own rules and edicts when it is convenient for them.  Packed pictures of the funeral showed little to no social distancing and D.C.'s Mayor Muriel Bowser even made quarantine exceptions for funeral attendees.  

Last week we brought you a story of how a public housing apartment building in California led to a China-style quarantine of the building's residents.  Something similar is now happening in Australia where cases have begun to grow.  

Today we also take a look at the New York Times which appears to be finally admitting that there is a cost to lockdowns and we examine how the Catholic Church is handling the pandemic.

Jake Tapper is one of CNN's most praised anchors and a very vocal liberal activist on Twitter.  On today's episode we take a look at one of his early COVID tweets from back in February where he promotes some OUTRAGEOUS COVID statistics that show he and Dr. Fauci are not the most credible pandemic experts. 

We also bring you a heartbreaking story from our friends over at Lockdown Skeptics about a woman in her 90s who traveled to see her daughter dying of cancer.  As you can imagine, she was denied entry to see her daughter in hospice.  COVID rules have created a growing tragedy where so many people are unable to say goodbye to their loved ones.  And yet . . . . you can riot and protest in the streets.

You’re probably familiar with sex trafficking which has been publicized in the mainstream media as a widespread horror that traffics thousands of women and young girls into sex slavery.  It’s an issue that the right and left have “joined forces” to combat and have raised millions of dollars to combat.   

Well.  We are skeptical.    

And upon further examination of data and police reports, it appears sex trafficking is nowhere near as common in the United States as you may think.  That’s why we are joined by Elizabeth Nolan Brown of Reason Magazine to debunk the common themes and  misconceptions of sex trafficking.  While we don’t agree with Elizabeth on everything, she is an expert on sex policy.    

Elizabeth’s extensive research exposes the “myths” surrounding one of the biggest public awareness campaigns in recent history and how the issue has been severely misunderstood by the right and the left. She also recommends what people interested in supporting charities that oppose sex trafficking should look for if they’re interested in making sure their funds go to the right place.

Forced quarantine.  Mandatory testing.  Changed locks.  One California apartment complex has recently lifted their China-Style lockdown that imprisoned nearly 80 residents.  You won't believe this story coming out of Ventura County, California that sounds like it should be taking place in Wuhan!

Never let a crisis go to waste!  Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti has a new list of demands for the federal government to account of LA's massive budget shortfall due to the pandemic.  Los Angeles, like most of California, is still in lockdown.  Garcetti's city also is now considered one of the biggest hot spots in the country for coronavirus.  The Mayor's wish list is long and includes radical demands like UBI (Universal Basic Income), extended unemployment insurance, and more. 

We also discuss the latest on the WHO!  It's a good thing President Trump decide to withdraw taxpayer funding for the organization . . . one leader of the group was caught pushing pro-China conspiracy theories.  You have to hear this story that further shows the WHO may be bought and paid for by China.

It’s week 18 of the “two week” pandemic lockdown and it’s nearly August!  Kids should be thinking about going back to school but in a lot of the country they won’t be.  In California, Governor Gavin Newsom has made it nearly impossible for students to return to in person classes and in Los Angeles nearly 33% (one THIRD) of all students never logged on to an online class.

The pandemic is robbing students of years of learning and critical socialization with their peers.   On today’s podcast we’re joined by Lindsey Burke who is the Heritage Foundation’s top education expert.  She shows how lawmakers can use the pandemic to radically change education for the better but the reality is that Unions are in danger of changing education policy for the worse. 

Lindsay points out that the closures are an opportunity to implement school choice legislation that could allow students to return to class even if their local districts refuse to open. Thats Freedom.  The “science” about reopening is very clear -- students are not at risk of COVID-19 and teachers are at a minimal risk.  Countries around the world have reopened their schools and yet the United States is behind because of partisan politics.  

 Leftist teachers unions have taken advantage of the pandemic to advance their own radical agendas, including the California teachers’ union that produced a “wish list” for the future of education in the state. Lindsey also fills us in on some of the more innovative approaches to education around the world, including “pods,” education vouchers, and school choice legislation.   

Also on today’s episode we correct the record on the late John Lewis. It's a story you won't see anywhere else. Although he spent much of his early life advancing the noble causes of Civil Rights, he later squandered this political capital lying and accusing Tea Party supporters of calling him racist names. Phelim remembers how his friend Andrew Breitbart led the fight to expose the slur.

Are you tired of the Cuomo's yet?  We are!  But their hypocrisy just keeps getting more and more outlandish by the day.  In the latest Cuomo scandal, Chris Cuomo's wife, Cristina, was caught exercising indoors at a Jimmy Choo store, in close quarters with no masks!  These people who make the rules and shame others for not following them, don't follow the rules themselves. 

Also on today's episode we go across the pond do discuss some great news from Britain.  Britain has secured nearly 100 million doses of a COVID-19 vaccine.  Prime Minister Boris Johnson is down playing the victory -- but it's a step in the right direction.  Also in the U.K., London's Theater District is struggling to bounce back after the virus.  Phelim has some interesting ideas on why one show in particular is struggling.
