Have you ever experienced or witnessed a lightning strike? During lightning storms, we were always instructed to turn off the TV, avoid electronics, like cellphones and water, cover mirrors, don’t stand under a tree etc. There was always a big fuss about lightning and stories of people being struck by it because they were standing underneath a tree during a storm. And lightning has also been associated with witchcraft in African culture.
What makes lightning so dangerous, and what causes it? Tragically, this Sunday, a student from MUT was reportedly struck by lightning in his sleep and died.

On Legal Matters, Marius Gerber, Intellectual Property Specialist at Witz Incorporated Inc., about a court case between Checkers and PnP regarding the Forage and Feast range which was sold first by Checkers and PnP ended having similar product sold in their stores and Checkers felt that PnP had infringed upon its common law rights in the form of goodwill and reputation associated with the Forest and Feast range and the Western Cape court found in favour of Checkers that the PnP’s range’s appearance and packaging was "nearly indistinguishable" from the Forage and Feast range sold by Checkers.

Transnet Freight Rail intends to issue a tender for the acquisition of firearms as part of its strategy to address and mitigate cable theft. In 2015, TFR recorded 1,688 security incidents across all its corridors, resulting in the theft of 129km of cables. By the end of March this year, the company recorded 3,877 security incidents, resulting in the theft of 1,121km of cables. Are they equipped enough to be provided with firearms?
