Today’s story comes from the late, great Gianluca Vialli, who reminisces about underdogs Sampdoria’s epic Serie A triumph in 1991, and losing out to Johan Cruyff’s Barcelona in two European finals.

Why are La Liga clubs desperate for the transfer window to close? Is the sale of Casemiro to Manchester United the reason Madrid are falling off the pace? Can Barcelona 1-0 their way to the title? What next for Spain's generation of progressive young coaches?

All these questions and more answered by Graham and Pete in the first part of our monthly Q&A show.

Here’s another Bitesize from the astute Gary Neville. Gary explains his approach to television analysis – don’t treat the viewer as an idiot by stating the obvious. Instead, try to view a match in terms of overall patterns and then break it down by focusing on certain passages of play.

Today’s story comes from Gary Neville, who is irked by the way the term ‘genius’ is bandied around in football parlance. But seeing Messi playing in the Camp Nou against Manchester City in 2015 left him genuinely speechless.

In part two of my engrossing chat with Adam Lallana, we hear about the Brighton man’s adoration for Alexis Mac Allister, the most unselfish of players, whose World Cup performances were so accomplished that Lionel Messi kept looking for him to link play. Adam studies Messi’s technique in order that he can sustain his career for as long as possible. Also: buying into Roberto De Zerbi’s unique deep build-up approach, Santi Cazorla and feeling intimidated to be in the same team as Steven Gerrard.

Adam Lallana’s grandfather hailed from Madrid, and the elegant attacking midfielder’s Latin blood might explain why he bonded so closely with Mauricio Pochettino at Southampton. The Argentine boss was like a second father to Adam, the man manager supreme.

Also in part one of this one-of-the-best-ever Big Interviews, why if you are going to lose a Champions League final, you might as well lose it to the mighty Real Madrid. And why Luca Modric is pound for pound the best midfielder in the world.
