Women and girls are the most common victims of human trafficking. At the global level women and girls are sold for less than 5,000 USD and as high as 25,000 USD.

The variation in prices is based on where the trafficked person is from, who the recipient is and what the recipient wants to use them for. Victims of trafficking are subject to horrors including sexual exploitation, forced labour, criminal activity, begging, forced marriages, organ removal. And there’s one form of trafficking that has been on the rise in Nigeria. Baby factories.

The President asked for help.

During a virtual meeting with the newly appointed US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, the President asked the United States to consider relocating Africom, the US Africa Command Headquarters, from Stuttgart Germany to Africa.
