A British Association of Sport and Exercise Science Accredited physiologist, Helen has presented her work to audiences across the world. She has published over 30 papers in the scientific literature and currently reviews of 7 international science journals.
Helen has vast experience in providing sport science support to endurance athletes, and has worked with cyclists, rowers, runners and triathletes during her career. She has also used her sport science expertise to become a much respected cycling coach. Recently, Helen has also completed training in Personal Performance coaching, illustrating how her coaching philosophy is on working with the individual as a human, and not just the athlete.
Perhaps Helen’s biggest asset is her own competitive experience. Since starting her cycling career in 2002, she has amassed two 4th places in the National time trial championships, four 4th places in the National series, and gained 6 National team titles (with the Science in Sport team). Helen therefore understands the lifestyle of an athlete, the pressures to perform and the commitment it takes to succeed. The blend of science with practical experience makes her contribution to this service unique.
