Welcome back for some mid-week banter.
On today’s episode Kate has returned to the studio to share her experience on tour in the Northern Territory and we convene to discuss the experience of languishing during this period of lockdown.
Languishing is a feeling of stagnation and emptiness characterised by feelings of apathy, disengagement, stagnation, monotony, and fatigue.
Kate and Maree discuss their experience of languishing this week and exchange notes on the different ways that they went about addressing this.
We consult Converge International for advice to overcome languishing including breaking up tasks, a change of scenery, getting active, and talking about it.
The Converge International website has more information surrounding mental health during this time as well as providing trained mental health professionals available over the phone at 1300 687 327.
Stay connected with us over the week on our Facebook or Instagram. Look after one another and stay safe Bayside.
Thank you to our sponsors, Buxton Real Estate and Chisolm Constructions for their contributions to the podcast.
Today’s guest is someone we couldn’t have bumped into at a more apt time. Fiona Redding is multi-talented professional, an author, podcast host and founder of The Happiness Hunter as well as a life coach, speaker and business strategist.
We sit down with Fiona to hear about how she turned a life that made her deeply unhappy around and the practices that facilitated this change. We hear about defining moments, coming back from an escalation of drinking, the implementation of meditation in daily life and the foundation of The Happiness Hunter.
We discuss the concept of loneliness, finding balance and the importance of sharing. Maree prompts Fiona for a single piece of advice to help people unsure of how to begin making change in their life.
There are many more fabulous resources available on The Happiness Hunter website as well as information and access to the programs we talked about today. Keep an eye out for Fiona’s second book over the next few months too. We know we definitely will!
Thank you to Fiona for joining us and of course, our sponsors, Buxton Real Estate and Chisolm Constructions for their contributions to the podcast.
Join us for another Bayside Banter next week where a well-travelled Kate returns to the studio. In the mean time you can find us on Facebook and Instagram.
Happy Wednesday Baysiders. Today Maree phones a friend to fill the Kate-shaped hole in the studio while she remains in the Northern Territory.
Together, Maree and Megan discuss the Olympics, sharing tidbits and quizzing each other as well as covering their highlights from the Tokyo Games.
Get excited for a conversation with The Happiness Hunter, Fiona Redding coming next week. We happily bumped into Fiona at one of our favourite coffee shops and we couldn’t be more pleased. Look out for more info and news on our Instagram and Facebook pages.

Stay safe Bayside!
Ladies and gentlemen, this is lockdown No.5.
As Melbourne heads into an extension of the most recent lockdown, we turn our attention to lighter matters. Predominantly, what we will be keeping ourselves occupied with over the next few days: K Dramas!
We discuss our Netflix favourites at the moment (Mine and Crash Landing Into You), and what we love about the shows including the fashion and the very good looking cast.
We keenly ask for more recommendations, so if we have missed your favourites come let us know on our Facebook or Instagram page!
Stay safe Bayside, and the same to all our friends interstate experiencing restrictions and lockdown.
Welcome back to the Bayside Bubble!
We have a very topical episode for you today, with Jacinta Costello from Ladies Back On Your Bike, and the Bayside Cycling Club.
Jacinta discusses how Ladies Back on Your Bike was founded in 2018 and has since grown to accommodate all levels of participation.
We hear about Jacinta’s first time on a bike that saw her tackling a tour around Tasmania and landed her on the front page of the newspaper in her bikini.
We talk about building confidence in new riders, as well as returning ones, in which Kate gets some advice about how to get back on the saddle post-accident.
Of course, we can’t let Jacinta go without hearing about her successful campaigns for greater bike paths in Bayside, as well as sharing with us some of her favourite trails and expert advice on purchasing a new bike.
If you would like to learn more about Ladies back on Your Bike, or the Bayside Cycling Club you can follow the links to their websites for more information.
Thank you to our incredible sponsors, Buxton Real Estate and Chisolm Constructions for their contributions to the show.

Welcome back Baysiders, let’s banter!
On today’s show, we discuss what we’ve been getting up to over the school holidays including Kate’s short-lived trip up the east coast with her kids, and Maree’s slightly more successful getaway with her husband to New South Wales.
We also sit down with one of our good friends and incredible sponsors, Tom Chisolm to discuss some of our favourite projects and the booming bayside construction market.
Look out for another Bayside Bubble episode next Wednesday, and don’t forget to follow us on Facebook and Instagram for more info and updates.
Happy Wednesday everybody and welcome back to another Bayside Bubble. Today we are joined by Annie Vickers, founder of Women on Walks, WOW for short.
We hear about how Annie grew tired of walking repeated laps of Dendy Park and instead, began to organise walks further afield for a small group of family and friends. The immense interest in this grew and led to the start of WOW in early 2019.
Annie tells us about her three prerequisites for scouting new walking trails: a 9-12km distance, toilet access, and (most importantly) a cafe to catch up with coffee afterwards.
We learn about the vast time effort Annie puts into organising walking trails, mentoring members, keeping the Facebook page active, engaging participants throughout lockdown with virtual walks around the world.
The bonds that are formed, friendships made, and stories of overcoming trepidation are amongst Annie's favourite memories, and we revel in hearing about the incredible mentorship program that she runs in cooperation with the organised walks.
If you would like to join the amazing group of women on their next walk find information about upcoming events on their Facebook page here.
While you’re there come say hi and follow us on Facebook or our Instagram for more info about Annie, WOW, and our upcoming episodes.
As always thank you to our sponsons, Buxton Real Estate and Chisholm Constructions, who help us continue to make the content we love.
Welcome back to another episode of Bayside Banter.
Today we reminisce about our favourite shows growing up. We discuss The Brady Bunch, Happy Days, I Dream of Jeanie and Wonder Woman to name a few, and share some fun and some not-so-fun facts about the television series including dog firings, censorships issues, ‘jumping the shark’, and children written off shows.
Kate and Maree look forward to bringing you another episode of the Bayside Bubble next week so follow us on our Facebook and Instagram page for more information of what is to come!
