First game of the season. Bees needed to get three points on the table with a few tricky away matches coming up. No Ivan Toney as rumours of his impending move to Saudi Arabia increase
So it was up to Mbuemo, Wissa and co to step up to the plate. And they did just that as Brentford surfed a few rocky waves to beat Palace 2-1
We spoke to Bees fans and Palace fans in the stands and the pub after the match

Brentford have signed Fabio Carvahlo from Liverpool for a fee of around £20m. The transfer has upset Fulham fans, where Fabio was a favourite of the Putney faithful in his time there, and has also irked a fair few Liverpool fans who saw Carvalho, only 21 years old, as one of the future stars of Merseyside
Billy Grant chatted to Neil from The Anfield Wrap, who saw Carvahlo score three times in Liverpool's pre-season matches in the USA, to give us his low down on Bees new superstar-in-waiting
