Reese, Kmac, Pam and Alex discuss Nico Harrison's firing, what went wrong and if Harrison was scapegoated.
Nico Harrison, who was hired in June 2021 as the General Manager and President of Basketball Operations for the Dallas Mavericks after a long career at Nike, was officially fired yesterday. Harrison’s tenure started strong, leading the Mavericks to a Western Conference Finals and even an NBA Finals appearance in 2024. However, his reputation took a major hit following a shocking decision in February 2025 to trade franchise superstar Luka Dončić to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Anthony Davis and other assets. The trade sparked immediate backlash from fans and media, who questioned the logic of parting with one of the league’s brightest young stars.
Following the trade, the Mavericks’ performance quickly declined. Injuries and inconsistent play plagued the team, and by the start of the 2025-26 season, they were off to a 3-8 start. Fan frustration boiled over both online and at games, where chants of “Fire Nico!” became common. With the poor results and widespread criticism, team owner Patrick Dumont decided to move in a “new direction,” officially dismissing Harrison. The Luka trade is definitely controversial, but ownership did have to sign off on the trade. Should they be held accountable too? Is Harrison being scapegoated?

Both the Duke Blue Devils and the North Carolina Tar Heels came away with wins last night. Duke dominated Army in West Point, cruising to a dominant 114-59 victory in a game that also featured a tribute to former coach Mike Krzyzewski. Meanwhile, North Carolina handled Radford at home, earning an 89-74 win. Both victories continue solid early-season momentum for the storied rivals.
The Kentucky Wildcats fell to the Louisville Cardinals last night, 96-88. Louisville’s freshman guard Mikel Brown Jr. put on a show, scoring 29 points to lead the Cardinals to their first win over Kentucky in five years. The New York Giants fired head coach Brian Daboll yesterday, ending his tenure with the team after a disappointing 2-8 start to the season as they sit at the bottom of the NFC East division. The decision came following another year of underperformance and growing frustration within the organization. According to reports, general manager Joe Schoen will remain in his position as the Giants begin their search for a new head coach. Daboll’s dismissal marks yet another reset for the franchise, which has struggled to find consistent leadership since its last playoff appearance. According to Adam Schefter, Sunday against the Chicago Bears was the fourth time this season that Jaxson Dart had been evaluated for a concussion. Was this why Daboll was fired?
Reese, Kmac, Pam and Alex discuss if this year's freshman class is the best ever in college basketball and the Eagles win over the Packers.
The Green Bay Packers fell to the Philadelphia Eagles 10-7 last night on Monday Night Football in a game that was a low-scoring defensive battle at Lambeau Field. Both teams struggled to generate consistent offense and the Eagles’ defense controlled much of the game, forcing two turnovers and limiting quarterback Jordan Love’s passing attack to under 200 yards. Despite a late push from Green Bay, a missed field-goal attempt in the final minute sealed the loss. The defeat dropped the Packers further behind in the NFC North race, while the Eagles improved their standing atop the NFC East. What happened with Jordan Love last night? Is Jordan Love the right guy for the Packers? What went wrong for the Packers?
