In the last hit up of the 2017 season, the BDA lads are split along political lines, as the remaining day of the final Test at the WACA and the virtues of a day of rain are passionately debated. In a summer listening special, each of the team presents their sporting moment of the year with some surprising inclusions. Investigative journalist Adrian shines a light in dark places. Plus the latest round-up of EPL and NFL action.

This week the BDA review the Rugby League World Cup finals with the precision and clarity that you've come to expect. The lads debate the latest NRL recruitment news, with a brief look at Origin 2018, much to Adrian's salivation. With the BDA kitchen plating up a piping hot serve of Marsh Humble Pie, Days 1 and 2 of the second Ashes test are debated and devoured. In a look at football of the association variety, the team discuss the Socceroos' World cup draw, and we check in with each our NFL teams.

All eyes were on Brisvegas over the weekend as the Ashes and Rugby league semi-final hit town- one a cyclone of colour and Barmy Army-inspired chanting, the other a damp squib. The BDAs then wax lyrical over an afternoon Mt Smart Stadium will never forget- England v Tonga. Sydney's troublesome stadia get a mention, as does the Brighton v Man U round-ball intra-pod rivalry game (if only Chris and Adrian knew about it). The podsters then get physics-al with an extended Aussie association footy chat, analysing such trajectories as Kerr and Kyah's screamers and Papadopolous' loogie.

The BDA boys are back from a break and talking High Voltage rugby league! After paying their respects to sadly departed Acca Daccer Malcolm Young, the lads riff on a helter skelter weekend of World Cup quarter-finals. The classic Australia-England rivalry then take centre stage, with an Aussie Ashes squad discussion and a Wallabies-England breakdown. We encore with songs of praise for Hellenic deity-a-like Mile Jedinak, the Hillsong hymns of Pasifika crowds and sport's trumpet-toting and Beatles-quoting pilgrims, the Barmy Army.

Dust off the penguin suits and the Paco Rabanne, because this episode is all about the Lomus- BDA's highly irreverent and not-at-all irrelevant answer to the Dally Ms which reward the good, the bad and the grubby from the 2017 NRL season. As if that glitz and glamour wasn't enough, the BDA boys revel in season reviews of river worms, fowls and sea bird, Bledisloe Cup reverie and RBB-Cove repartee at the first Sydney derby of the young A-League season.

With Curmudgeon absent, the BDA's two Mr Brightsides (Chris and Joe) pick the Bones of the AFL and NRL Grand Finals. Despite the less than Glorious on-field action, the lads take solace from GF entertainment and speeches far superior to the best-Forgotten Years of Meatloaf, Good Charlotte, etc. This musical episode also mourns the departure of Big Poppa from the A-League, mulls over some Juicy EPL and NFL results and meditates on the little-known connection between the Wiggles and the NRL.  Junior Mafia in the house!

The gang dissect the good, the bad and the Fergo of the NRL semis and preview a slightly maroon-looking Grand Final between the Storm and the Cowboys. The AFL GF between Richmond and Adelaide also gets a guernsey, but will the Tigers be wearing the right one? Despite their Amex affiliations, Chris insists that he isn't a plastic fan as "his" Brighton swipe their first EPL win. And in a whirlwind finale, the NFL, cycling, tennis, cricket and international diplomacy all get the BDA spin cycle!
