The Black Tower Podcast: A Wheel of Time Podcast

In this episode, we cover the ever lovable character of Thomdril Merrilin! Yes! The famous Court Bard, wielder of thrown blades, and tugger of fantastic mustaches. He's the man we all love and an integral part of what makes The Wheel of Time as amazing as it is!

Oh yes happy day! Finally, after fifty-eight episodes, the boys at the Black Tower Podcast are finally discussing the woman everyone loves. Moiraine has her debut episode here with us and we couldn't have enjoyed it more. Well, that's a lie, we would've enjoyed it more had Josh been able to be with us, but all is well that ends well.

It's a New Year, so new we're still not used to writing 2020 instead of 2019 yet. RIP to all the papers with scratch marks across the date. We apologize for missing two episodes for you guys, but hopefully this nice lengthy slice of beef will satisfy your Podcast needs! It's a throw back to our first true episode (Sexism in the Wheel of Time.) Here we discuss an article (linked below) authored by Oren Ashkenazi with the Mythcreants Podcast (we love you guys! This isn't a diss or anything). So be prepared for what's coming listeners!

You know that one weirdly shaped, but super important island right down from the slopes of dic-uh...we mean Dragonmount? Well, that's what this episode is all about. Come enjoy the surprising, or maybe not so surprising, violent history behind the seat of female channeling power in the modern age. There's jokes (because who wouldn't know why the island looks the way it does. I mean...come on), there's tons of history and lore, and just an all around fantastic time. Yes, they may have spent the better part of memorable history trying to gentle us into death, but why not still talk about the iconic island that is Tar Valon!

It's the first Friday of the month and we all know what that means. Book Review!! We're getting close to the series climax here with Book 12 The Gathering Storm. It's a book full of extreme plot development, emotional stress, and even some resolutions that we've been waiting for. Come along with us (Andrew, Daniel, and Josh) as we talk through this very meaty novel.

Some of the jokes here are a result of our pre-recording, which is available for our Patreons to enjoy at https://www.patreon.com/Blacktowerpod

Your second heaping helping of madness is right on the heels of your first!

That's right, everyone, this week (since you didn't get any last week) you get not one, but two episodes from the Black Tower!

In today's episode, Josh and I sit down and talk about one of the characters we "hate to love" and "love to hate." All the way from Seanchan, it's the Daughter of the Nine Moons! Why nine? Why moons? Who knows! But we do have a great chat about the Seanchan, their new Empress, and what might happen after the Wheel of Time is over. Stick around!

And, if you like what you hear, we'd like to hear from you! Always feel free and encouraged to reach out on any, and/or all, of our platforms. Hello Everyone!

First off, we want to thank everyone for their patience. As you can tell, based on the title of this episode and the delay of getting it out, it was a rough one to edit. Both Andrew and I took a crack at it and came up short. However, we are committed to getting you your weekly doses of madness, so I persevered to bring you this episode. Again, thank you for your understanding and we will have more coming for you, literally, right after this!

That being said, we dive in this episode to talk about the most recent casting news (Tam Al'Thor,) Rafe Judkins's comments about his initial feelings and season 2, as well as rabbit holes about YouTube comments and "Air-o-soft" guns. It's a really fun episode, and we had a great time making it for all of you. Hope you enjoy!

Speaking of enjoying (or not enjoying) please feel encouraged to reach out and tell us what we are doing well/badly on any of our platforms! We have right here on Podbean, our Twitter page @TowerPodcast, email at [email protected] and our wonderful Discord server https://discord.gg/Rxghe2x

Have a great week, y'all!

Come along as Andrew and Daniel talk about one of the most beloved Wheel of Time power couples!

It's what we've all been waiting for! The PLOD is over and we can finally get to a very handy book. If you get the joke you get it. Come along with Andrew and Daniel as we explore the happenings in Book 11 of Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time. It's a very special book, being the last book Jordan authored himself and we hope we've done this review justice!

Hey everyone!

We're back! For episode 51 I, Daniel, would like to apologize for the lateness, and welcome you! Life got away from me this week, but we will be back to regularly scheduled releases on the 1st of November, barring any unforeseen issues.

That being said, hello! This week Andrew and Daniel dive deep in to one of the more favorite characters in the series, Nynaeve al'Meara. Once Wisdom of a small town, Nynaeve captures hearts, minds, and passions of readers throughout the series, and becomes an incredibly important figure. We'll get into the finer points of her channeling, relationships, fears, and triumphs, so buckle up, buttercup!
