Apple PodcastsAndroidRSSOlive Clarke is a British author who has led an interesting life right from her childhood days. She taught herself to read from a very early age and her passion for both reading and writing has supported her right up to this very day. Olive would often scramble up her favourite tree and even hide under the bed covers or anywhere she could find solitude to let her imagination run riot with stories and characters. Often her vivid creativity would scare her, leaving her thinking where on earth did that story emerge from? Olive is now eighty-one, bed bound having suffered a stroke some years ago, but as she puts it, “my body is wrecked, but my mind is as sharp as a needle and I still take great pleasure in delighting others with my books, thus while I have the ability to write, I will continue to do so until I can’t; but that will be a sad day for me if that was to happen. So, I continue to write, for it does keep me out of mischief.”

The Book
Wildcats and spirituality set in a topography that mirrors the well-known Peak District National Park in the United Kingdom is at the core of this exhilarating novel which is intelligently constructed and beautifully written. Kahmet a wildcat is the implausible hero dominating the scenes here. The Immeasurable standards required from him to maintain his position are high, he has many attributes to his name, but he is a flawed character which leaves him exposed to unguarded challenges.
A marauding tribe of nearby wildcats inflicts brutal chaos on the scene, the battles are ferocious and dramatic, leaving untold damaged pathways in their wake and cats from all sides left licking their wounds. Will good conquer evil as the drama unfolds?
Seeing the world though the eyes of wildcats in all the developing flash situations is unique, yet we are allowed to see the warmth and sweetness that exists between the individual cats as they each have their moment on the centre stage.
As the story draws to its closing moments you will see, imperfections rectified, inequalities put right, and shortcomings settled. But what of the protection of the Ultimate Authority; I’ll leave that for you to fathom that out for yourselves.
This is an exceptional book, both in terms of the narrative and writing style and when you have read all sixty-seven chapters I think you’ll agree with me.
The story has been assembled into eight very distinctive parts and just to give you an idea as to how this has been done, I have listed the parts of the book below which should give you a flavour as to what you can expect.
Did I enjoy this distinctive book? Yes, very much. Do I recommend you read it? Oh Yes!!!
My favourite Wildcat was Hedgerow. But the position of Moon Cat intrigued me, and the edge around spirituality was subtle and tasteful.
