  • Eamonn Darcy | Ep.51

Golfing legend and Ryder Cup hero Eamonn Darcy is our guest on the podcast, he shared stories about how he turned professional with a handicap of 12, finding early success on the European Tour, winning 16 times Worldwide and why Sam Snead was a tough man.

The 6ft1" golfer who wanted to be a jockey when he was young has lived a life most of us could only dream of, from playing golf with the game's greatest including Nicklaus, Langer, Faldo, Seve and more to being part of the first European Ryder Cup team to win in America.

Eamonn was very gracious with his time, so please check this episode out and let us know what you think.

We're really excited for the year ahead, we have lot's planned from special podcast guests to original video content and challenge videos, keep an eye on our social channels! Lets hope the courses open sooner than later!

  • duck hook | Ep.50

Scott, Nick & Will from duck hook, a new Irish golf clothing company joined us on the podcast this week to share their journey. The lads were a lot of laughs as they shared stories from coming up with the business idea, to the financial realities involved in starting a clothing company, to Ben's "Flamboyant fashion sense".

What could have been a fake tan brand, they opted instead to dive into the golfing world and we think they made the right choice... Duck hook was born from a frustration at the golf apparel industry and the obvious monopoly that the large brands have on it. Starting off with an initial range of polo shirts, they have quickly expanded their range to outerwear, headwear and womenswear. You'll do well to avoid one of these ducks the next time you're out on the links.

In their own words "The duck hook philosophy is centred around quality and style at an affordable price." Thanks a million for listening to this episode of The Bogey Men golf podcast

  • Waste Management & Saudi Recap | Ep.49

Dave and Jonny sit down to react to Jordan temporarily catching fire, asking what is it about Spieth that makes him so likeable and relatable. Brooks is a winner again after claiming victory at the Waste Management Phoenix Open.

DJ makes an even bigger payday as he storms home to victory in Saudi Arabia. After Tony Finau fails to get it done we ask is winning a habit? How is it formed and what does Tony need to do.

Coming up is the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro(noAm) and Seamus Power is in the field once more flying the flag for Ireland, good luck Seamus!

  • The Distance Debate | Ep.48

Brian Wacker of Golf Digest & Mark O'Mahony of Concept Golf, formerly of Titleist came on the podcast to break down the recent findings from the R&A and the USGA around the Distance Insights Project Report along with their conclusions “Implications of Hitting Distance in Golf”.

We all came to this with varying opinions on the report and had a great discussion around whether bifurcation is the solution, should the ball be rolled back for everyone? What happens if nothing is done and is Webb's solution to smaller greens actually the perfect middle ground?

We cover some common arguments around rolling back the ball, Rory getting heated about the Report calling it a "huge waste of time and money" and plenty more.

Big thanks for Brian and Mark for their time and expertise on this podcast.

  • The Great Club Debate | Ep.45
In this episode we are joined by Irish Times journalist Ruaidhri Croke who recently wrote a few articles on the risks facing Irish golf clubs in 2021, which golf clubs are doing deals for new members and what happens to a club if you don't renew,
We also examine whether we will renew our golf club memberships for 2021, and ask is it worth it? What happens to the trophy tourist courses who will see a second year of depleted revenues from the prime American clientele. There is a massive opportunity for golf to grow but we discuss how difficult it will be to realise this potential.

Billy Foster is one of the great caddie characters in the game’s history.
The longtime European Tour caddie – currently with Matthew Fitzpatrick – has walked the fairways with, among others, Lee Westwood, Darren Clarke, Sergio Garcia and the legendary Seve Ballesteros.
Billy joined Jonny and Dave on the pod this week to recount of incredible stories from his 38 year career from winning the DP World Tour Championship last December to receiving a letter from Seve requesting his caddying services and taking part in 14 Ryder Cups and being reduced to tears by Darren Clarke's heroic performance at the 2006 Ryder Cup in The K Club.
