Off the coast of West Cork, there is an island that is mainly populated with cattle and ewes and is only accessible by cable car.

Dursey Island is just off the western tip of the Beara Peninsula and home to over 100 cattle and 500 ewes owned by eight farmers.

The island is connected to the mainland by a cable car, something that is hugely popular with tourists.

However, much like everything else tourism related, the pandemic greatly impacted on the service of the cable car and as a result, on the work of the farmers.

Speaking to Dermot and Dave, Donal O'Donovan from the West Cork branch of the Irish Farmers' Assocation explained why they need the opening hours to change.
