We’re over halfway through the World Championships! Chris Chavez, Kyle Merber, Jasmine Todd, and Mitch Dyer are back to dive into the biggest moments of the night. Day 6 of the World Champs delivered – we saw Jamaica come in clutch for the sprint events, a fast men’s 200m semifinal after the golf cart crashed on the way to the stadium, and Femke Bol dominated the 400m hurdles.
Some of the best events from Day 6 include:
– Women’s 400m hurdles final: Femke Bol came back better than ever in the 400m hurdles with an astonishing 51.70 victory.
– Men’s 400m final: Antonio Watson won the men’s 400m in 44.22 + Quincy Hall set a personal best of 44.37 for 3rd place and his first World medal.
– Men’s long jump final: Miltiadis Tentoglou once again came up big on his final attempt by leaping 8.52 meters to claim gold by 2 centimeters.
– Men’s 200m semifinal: After a golf cart crash on the way to the stadium, Noah Lyles threw down a 19.76 to run the fastest qualifying time for the final.
– Women’s 200m semifinal: A rematch is on deck for Shericka Jackson, Sha’Carri Richardson, and Marie-Joseé Ta Lou in the women’s 200m final.

Day 5 was highlighted by finals in the men’s 1500m, women’s 400m, men’s 400m hurdles, and women’s pole vault among other events.
A few of Day 5’s most notable moments include:
– Men’s 1500m: Josh Kerr ran 3:29.38 to deny Jakob Ingebrigtsen the gold medal + Narve Nordãs snagged bronze to round out the top three.
– Women’s pole vault: Katie Moon and Nina Kennedy became co-World champions in the women’s pole vault following an epic battle ending in a pair of world-leading 4.90m vaults.
– Men’s 400m hurdles final: Karsten Warholm is once again king of the 400m hurdles with a 46.89 victory + Rai Benjamin took home bronze after a season filled with setbacks.
– Women’s 5000m semifinal: 10 women broke 15 minutes, led by a 14:32.29 tape-to-tape performance by Sifan Hassan.
– Marileidy Paulino finally got her gold with a 48.76 victory and Dominican national record.

A long-awaited collab. Team USA's Chari Hawkins stopped by just two days after finishing 8th in the World Athletics Championships heptathlon with a personal best of 6366 points – which included personal bests in all field events. She shared how grueling the competition was since the conditions were hot and the schedule allowed for very little sleep. She also shares some awesome stories about the camaraderie among the heptathletes as she delivered a small speech to her competitors before an epic 800m race to determine the medals.

Canadian marathon record holder Natasha Wodak joins the show ahead of competing at the 2023 World Athletics Championships marathon. ASICS Mammoth Track Club's Nico Montañez and Coach Andrew Kastor join Chris Chavez and Kyle Merber to discuss his preparation to represent Team USA in the marathon at the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest on Aug. 27. Montañez has a 2:09:53 personal best and is considered a contender to make the 2024 U.S. Olympic team at the upcoming marathon trials next February. He has progressed well in his career since turning professional, signing with Asics and focusing on the roads.

Day 4 was another action-packed evening – Laulauga Tausaga threw a massive personal best to win the women’s discus, Faith Kipyegon led the women’s 1500m final wire-to-wire, and Soufiane El Bakkali added another title to his name in the men’s 3000m steeplechase. Some of the highlights of Day 4 include:
– Women’s discus: Laulauga Tausaga stole the show with an epic final throw to claim the gold medal + the U.S. goes 1-2 with Val Allman snagging the silver medal.
– Men’s 3000m steeplechase final: Championship veteran Soufiane El Bakkali won the title over world record holder Lamecha Girma + George Beamish placed 5th in his debut season.
– Women’s 1500m final: Faith Kipyegon dominated the final + Ciara Mageean continued her breakout season with a 4th place finish.
– Men’s high jump: Fans went nuts for Gianmarco Tamberini’s victory!
– Women’s 400m hurdles semifinal: Shamier Little ran the fastest qualifying time out of the semifinal + Femke Bol advanced to the final effortlessly.
