ETYMOLOGY of Journey:  “jour” comes from French and ultimately from Latin, where it has the meaning "daily; of or relating to one day.''   journee then evolves to mean a day’s travel or work - this is where the term journeyman comes from  journey then becomes a defined course of travel and metaphorical to life path and achievement.
