The Colorado Avalanche have points in 11 straight after a 5-2 win over the Anaheim Ducks. Does the schedule allow for Philipp Grubauer to get a well deserved break?
The Colorado Avalanche are a hot team right now and they continued that trend with a 5-2 win over the Anaheim Ducks. Anaheim tried to use the Vegas Golden Knights effort of getting physical with the Avs, but the Knights have physicality as well as skill that Anaheim can't match. In the end, the Avs put too much pressure on the Ducks and pulled away late.
Philipp Grubauer has been a work horse for the Avs all year, and there is not many spots where he will be given a reprieve. But the way the Avs schedule is set up for the rest of this week, he could get a nice little break from the action to gear himself up for the race to the end of the season. With a back to back against St. Louis coming up this Friday and Saturday, we will no doubt see Jonas Johansson in one of those games. With the Avs playing Wednesday against Arizona, if Johansson plays that game, then the first of the back to back, that would give Grubauer a nice four day break. Some food for thought.
