So far in our current sermon series, The Divine Life, some of what we have discovered is in whom we really must have our confidence (hint: it’s not just God) and that we must know who we are in Christ.

Proverbs 14:12 says, “There is a way which seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.” Many have believed that we should not have any “self” confidence; it should be only “God” confidence. But the truth is that having confidence in who we are is essential to living The Divine Life. While true that our salvation is based on Christ alone, our success in receiving the abundance and promises of God while here on earth is shaped by our own personal level of confidence, commitment, and pursuit. Hebrews 10:35 says, "Therefore, do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward.”

Confidence in who we are is essential to living The Divine Life. What happens when we’re not feeling so confident? How do we get it back and keep it? God has put all things in us that pertain to life and godliness, and it is up to us to discover and walk in them.

Have you ever been so stressed that it was hard to sleep at night?Ever been so disappointed with things that you literally cried?Has a situation been so bad before that you felt you just weren’t good enough?We go through things in life that are hard and almost unbearable at times. So it’s natural to have these feelings at times. However, God doesn’t want us to continually live in a negative, emotional state. God didn’t make us so we could live in stress, disappointment, depression, and defeat. God made us to have fellowship with Him and to live The Divine Life.

In this episode, we wrap up the series by finishing up the biblical worldview of the nature of humanity, and establishing the viewpoint we should have concerning the world and society as a whole.

So far in this sermon series, we have uncovered the truth about some of the worldviews that have influenced thought and theology in the church. We have been reconstructing a true biblical view of God, and began discovering how God sees humanity. Join us as we continue to unpack how we should view ourselves and all of humanity from a biblical perspective.

Over the past several weeks, we have been building a truly biblical worldview by discussing the nature and existence of God. This week, we will turn our attention to the nature of humanity. As far back as the 4th century, Church leaders have taught that mankind is inherently evil. But is this really true? Is that what the Word of God really says? Join us as we begin to unpack how we should view ourselves and all of humanity from a biblical perspective.

Many philosophers and rationalists who lived during the Age of Enlightenment cast many doubts upon the validity of scripture. The erroneous teachings of these men were taught in universities and colleges around the world as truth. Their teachings are still being taught in our schools and dramatically affect Western society as a whole. This Sunday, we will continue to build a true Biblical worldview by exposing the fallacies of these enlightened thinkers and their views on the Bible. We will prove the validity of the scripture and present evidence for the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.

A fundamental change in thought patterns began to emerge from the Scientific Revolution of the 16th and 17th centuries. The spiritual world was seen as insignificant, and the natural world was seen as the “real” world, the world of reason, and the world of science. As a result, by the end of the Age of Enlightenment, many held the worldview of God as being unknowable or unprovable. A wall was created dividing faith from reason. But is God unprovable? Is our faith in God reasonable, or is it an irrational belief in the absurd?

Last week, we began a new series, An Unshackled Worldview. In it, we are continuing to develop and adjust our worldview to God’s perspective as revealed in the Bible. The more biblical our worldview, the freer we get. Jesus said it himself, “…the truth will make you free!” Join us this Sunday as we continue with the second part of this challenging and faith-strengthening series and answer the question: Is God really in control?
