The Connection Church

A violent battle is raging around us every minute of every day. It’s an invisible war that many don’t realize is taking place. It’s a fight that determines whether we walk in truth or deception. As believers, one of the most important things we need to learn is how to renew, strengthen, and guard our minds because The Battle Over Truth is very real.

Here's a question that is seeking to be answered by the parable of the barren tree: Does God care about results, yes or no? Yes, God cares about results! God cares about us being effective for the Kingdom. The word that encompasses all of that is “fruit.” This Sunday, we will continue our series, Grace, Truth, and Time, by outlining why fruitfulness matters and covering the steps to living a fruitful life.

This is the first part of a brand new sermon series on three essential ingredients for the growth of every believer. If you are diligent in applying these principles to your life, it will lead to good fruit. It is estimated that right now over 127 million well-intentioned Americans set goals for the New Year. Get fit, save money, stop eating fast food, and pray more are all on the list because setting goals is admirable. On December 11, 2016, a University of Scranton Journal of Clinical Psychology study revealed that just 8% of people who make New Year resolutions achieve them. A final message of 2016 leading us into what God has in store for us in 2017...

Last Sunday we answered the question: why should we adore Jesus? We should adore Jesus simply because of who He is—our Savior, Lord, and King. Tonight we will answer the question: How should we adore Him?

We hear the song, “O Come, All Ye Faithful,” every year at Christmastime. There is a beautiful and imploring line in this song that instructs us to “come, let us adore Him.” But what does it mean to “adore” the Lord? This Sunday, we will begin to explore what that means and answer the question of why we should.

At some point in our Christian walk, we may have questioned ourselves…

Why did He make me?

What does He want me to do?

What does He want me to be?

What is His purpose in my life?

Join us this Sunday as we confront these questions and build a self-confidence and self-worth in knowing that we are significant in God’s plan and purpose for our lives.

Atheists often use their unbelief as an excuse to live how they want to live. They don’t want to step into the light because they know if they do, they might have to change the way they live. Unfortunately, many Christians live the way they want to live as well instead of being fully submitted to God. They just use different excuses than atheists. Don’t miss this Sunday, as we expose the root of the excuses for both the atheist and the Christian by “Dispelling Delusions” and learn to live in the light of truth and liberty!

Have you ever believed God for something, and you waited for God to answer…and then you waited some more…and then you waited even longer, but nothing? When answers to what we are believing for are delayed, this does not necessarily indicate a definite “no” from the Lord. God has promised that whatsoever we ask, we can receive.
