Welcome to The Conscious Couples Podcast with your hosts and real-life couple Emilia Smith and Alan Lazaros. Today they discuss whether or not compromise is a lie in a relationship. We’ve all heard that “marriage or a relationship is about compromise” talk. It’s like a rite of passage that marriage veterans pass on to singles or couples who are considering tying the knot. But the truth is, blending your life with another person will have its struggles no matter how similar your interests are. The key is to understand who you both are outside of that relationship and appreciate your differences that add value to each other.

Welcome to The Conscious Couples Podcast with your hosts and real-life couple Emilia Smith and Alan Lazaros. In this episode, they discuss the expectation that one partner knows what the other needs or wants and how this can jeopardize a relationship. In a relationship, there is often a perception that nobody knows you better than your partner. The longer your relationship, the more that perception creates an expectation that a partner should instinctively know what you need. It may appear that what you think, feel, and need at that moment is obvious. However, if you are not bringing those needs, expectations, or feelings to the surface.

Welcome to The Conscious Couples Podcast with your hosts and real-life couple Emilia Smith and Alan Lazaros. In this episode, they share how you can create space for vulnerability in your relationship and how you can be vulnerable with your partner. Being vulnerable with your partner requires accepting yourself first before you can open up and share with someone else. Welcome back to The Conscious Couples Podcast with your hosts and real-life couple, Emilia Smith and Alan Lazaros. Today they talk about walking on eggshells around your partner, what it is, and why you feel like you have to. In the same way an egg demands delicate treatment to avoid cracks in its frame, a person that walks on eggshells around their partner will observe considerable caution to avoid upsetting them. Nobody would want to stay in a relationship where they feel it’s not safe to speak their truth. Sometimes, it all boils down to a calm and open conversation. Agree to be honest with each other. Remind your partner that being honest and listening attentively is better than walking on eggshells.
