In October 1966 a terrible mining disaster occurred in the Welsh village of Aberfan, killing 116 children and 28 adults. One strange thing that occurred following the disaster were the number of stories that began emerging that several children who were killed along with a number of other adults who should have had no knowledge of the flood, began reporting having psychic premonitions of the disaster before it occurred. This led a British psychiatrist named John Barker to create a premonitions bureau, where he collected stories of psychic visions, in the hope that they could one day use this information to save lives.

In 1892, a convicted serial killer named Dr. Thomas Neill Cream was led to the gallows. One story goes that just before the hangman pulled the lever, Dr. Cream was in the middle of confessing to being the most famous serial killer of all time, Jack the Ripper.

During the 18th century there once live a rather remarkable individual in France who is considered today to be the father of modern criminology. Eugene Vidocq lived his life by one philosophy, in order to catch a criminal, you had to be able to think like one. Which was fortunate in his case, because on top of being the first modern detective, Vidocq was also a wanted criminal.

Back in 1932, a mysterious stranger who led the Royal Canadian Mounted Police on a wild manhunt through the frozen wilderness of the Canadian Northwest. What should have begun as a simple questioning by police, turned into a violent gun battle and one of the largest manhunts in the history of the northwest. Although the man went by what is most likely an alias of Albert Johnson, he's better known by the name given to him by the newspapers, The Mad Trapper of Rat River.
