  • CC 057: Building Trust & Authority Through Podcasting With Loz James
Welcome to show 57 of the Content Champion Podcast, in this episode I’m bringing you something special and a little bit different. I recently took part in a world record breaking 36 six hour podcast hosted by Mike and Izabela Russell - founders of New Media Europe and the UK Podcasters community. I was one of 36 guest speakers over the mega two day event - and chatted with Mike about how to grow trust and authority through podcasting. It was a huge honour to be asked to take part and I really enjoyed the whole event - which was streamed live on Blab, a great platform that I’m going to be exploring much more now I've used it. So, if you want to hear me on the other side of the mic for the first time, let’s dive in…

Listen To Loz's ShowStory of The ShowThe event was organised to raise awareness of independent UK podcasters, and also to show businesses how podcasting can help build their online brand. The whole show was an incredible success and it was great fun to be involved - although I still don't know how Mike managed to stay awake for the full 36 hours!I took a screenshot of me and Mike on Blab recording my segment of the show, to give you a feel for how the setup works, and how listeners can interact and ask questions throughout the audio/video presentation. Blab is a superb new platform, and opens up so many avenues for visual podcasting and live presentation that you really should check it out as an innovative way to engage with your target audience.

  • CC 056: Pattern Interrupts In Content Marketing With Rob Cornish
My guest on episode 56 of the Content Champion Podcast is experienced online marketer Rob Cornish of Gain Higher Ground. A prolific entrepreneur and product creator, Rob has authored an excellent new report that outlines how we can use powerful psychological triggers called 'pattern interrupts' in our content marketing.

Listen To Rob's ShowRob's BackstoryAfter spending a decade working in the financial services industry in London, Rob was attracted by the personal and financial freedom of running his own online business, so he started experimenting with Internet Marketing business models. With literally no knowledge of online marketing to fall back on, Rob embarked upon an intensive process of self-education to get up to speed on what works and what doesn't - documenting all this on his new blog 'Gain Higher Ground'. In 2010 after much hard work, he then decided to go full-time with his fledgling Internet based enterprise.Cut to six years later and Rob has created ten information and software products, and his blog and membership site are amongst some of the most popular in the online marketing niche. Rob's clients and blog audience not only love his straightforward approach to Internet Marketing, but also frequently describe him as 'one of the good guys' who genuinely wants to help people.Rob's latest product, a fascinating PDF report and bonus material called 'Interrupt2Profit', introduces us to the idea of pattern interrupts - what they are and how we can use them to cut through the online noise and attract more traffic, leads and sales. And it's this intriguing concept that we're discussing in today's show.

  • CC 055: Authority Content Collaboration With Tom Hunt of Virtual Valley
My guest on this episode of the Content Champion Podcast is innovative online entrepreneur and accomplished content marketer, Tom Hunt. Among his many achievements, Tom is a successful podcaster, a TEDx speaker and also the founder of Virtual Valley, a virtual assistant outsourcing agency. You may also know Tom from his appearance on BBC TV's Dragons' Den series - where he memorably introduced the panel to male leggings or 'meggings'. Over the last few years - and with multiple startups under his belt - Tom has developed a proven way of gaining exposure using content collaborations with big players such as The Daily Mail and other authoritative online platforms - and this is the subject of today's show.

Listen To Tom's ShowTom's BackstoryTom's journey to online marketing success started in a roundabout kind of way when he  and a friend went to a fancy dress party wearing female leggings - which they discovered were actually really comfortable. So they came up with the idea to sell a male version of leggings, or 'meggings' - as a natural progression of the skinny jean. The venture started out with Tom and his two business partners buying a batch of female leggings, branding them as male ones and trying to sell them on London's Brick Lane. Unfortunately, however, they sold zero pairs.Ever resourceful, this didn't put Tom off - and a couple of months later he set up an e-commerce store and went on to sell the very first pair of male leggings online. It was the power and potential of this first online sale that encouraged Tom to really get started in online marketing. That was all back in 2013, and since then Tom has setup numerous online ventures after leaving the corporate world and devoting himself full-time to building Internet based businesses. Within this context, Tom went on to found Virtual Valley in 2015, a platform that quickly and easily connects entrepreneurs with awesome virtual assistants. The company has exclusively used low cost content marketing techniques to build a strong client base since the start of 2016.And it's the content collaboration and outreach processes that Tom uses to build such online authority that we're discussing in this fascinating show.

  • CC 052: How To Create A Content Business Machine With Matt Wolfe
It's fair to say Matt Wolfe of Multiply Authority excels in all areas of running his content based business. An experienced online marketer, entrepreneur, affiliate marketer, podcaster and blogger - not to mention product builder, content marketer and teacher - this is definitely a man of many talents. So I was delighted when he agreed to be my guest on the show.

    Listen To Matt's Show
Matt's BackstoryMatt's main goal has always been to earn a sustainable income selling information online. In his early days, he taught himself how to make websites and also started a couple of blogs about health, finance and gardening. When they gained popularity and traffic, he started selling ad space and quickly began earning money.Since all this meant he'd effectively become an expert in web development, WordPress, blogging, branding and marketing, Matt decided he wanted to share his knowledge with others - so he started creating online training courses and tutorials. His first course, The WordPress Classroom, launched in 2009 and grew rapidly - so much so that he later merged with another similar site, Free Blog Factory. The result of that merger was LearnToBlog.com - now a million dollar business. Matt sold his share to his business partner in 2015 and then made the decision to get back to his roots and start blogging and podcasting again.Multiply AuthorityMatt's current main online business, Multiply Authority, is the sum of everything he’s done up until now. It is an all-encompassing platform where he talks about everything from building a brand to becoming an authority figure in the market place. With his accompanying Authority Insider podcast, he aims to share his extensive knowledge and give listeners access to the large network of marketers he's met through all kinds of seminars and interviews. He is also the creator of the 'Content Business Machine' training course that we discuss in this episode - where he shares how to build an entire online brand and business using agile content marketing techniques. It's a model that's proven to work and that everyone can follow - and once I'd joined the training and looked under the hood, it was actually so good I was gutted I hadn't got there first 🙂Running a content business machine means operating an entire business built around content - attracting people to your brand using content, selling them your product using content; and where the product you’re actually selling can also be content itself. Amongst many other aspects of business building and content marketing, the course covers quickfire ways of creating high quality content - and leveraging other people’s existing content to your own benefit. And Matt teaches us about the great variety of content based products we can offer our audience too – including one off courses, memberships, continuity programmes and high ticket opportunities - so everyone can find something that suits them in the 'Content Business Machine' training. In our podcast together, Matt expands on these subjects and explains the foundation techniques behind starting your online content based business. He discusses how to pick a great niche, shares tips on how to sell through content - and how to quickly create the types of high quality content that leave people wanting more. Matt also shares his social media and email-based traffic strategies - and highlights the importance of personal branding.Matt is undoubtedly an expert in his field and a delight to chat to - and with his in-depth marketing knowledge shared through his podcasts, blogs and courses, he's already helped a lot of people start and run a successful content based business.
