  • Pilates for Men: Dana Santi on Core Conversations with Martin

Dana comes from a family of entrepreneurs. This influences the fantastic business acumen she brings to the Pilates world. Our conversation was a business course, a parenting course, and a self-help course all at the same time. We are both raising teenage boys and we drew connections to helping them find the way and allowing our clients to find their way on their fitness journey. Dana was very transparent about her business career and the hard decisions she has had to make along the way. Studio ownership is not always sexy. It means hurting feelings sometimes while making prudent decisions. Joseph Pilates designed his exercises for men. She explains the origins and the intents and shares some words of wisdom for the listeners that can massively change our pilates practice. Enjoy the conversation.

  • CC #11 - Dr Jeff Matheson 07.04.20
Core Conversations presents Dr Jeff Matheson discussing health at the cell level: Adapted form Dr Jeff’s Website: Dr. Jeff Matheson has obtained his HBSc (Biochem) degree from the University of Western Ontario, followed by his MDCM Degree (Doctor of Medicine, Master of Surgery) from McGill University in 1991. Dr. Jeff Matheson has been practicing medicine in emergency departments across Canada and internationally, including in Ontario, Newfoundland and Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates). In 1998, he was appointed Medical Director of Med-Emerg Inc., a company dedicated to staffing underserved hospitals in Canada. Subsequently, in 2013, Dr. Matheson co-founded the HMC Centre, with the goal of promoting a non-narcotic approach to pain and headache management. The HMC Centre is dedicated to pain management through the promotion of good health and non-medicinal therapies using the principles of neuroplasticity, as well as interventional pain control. Dr. Matheson has travelled extensively throughout Europe, Middle East, Africa and South East Asia, as well as in Oceania. According to Dr. Matheson, “Travelling is the best education!” He is an enthusiastic believer in the benefits of immersion in other cultures. Similarly, he believes that listening attentively to each patient and understanding their unique culture is necessary to truly understand their problem. Dr. Matheson believes that the practitioner’s ability to listen and empathize with the patients is key in establishing an accurate diagnosis and developing long-term, effective treatment solutions to optimize the patient’s health and outcomes. Moreover, Dr. Matheson dedicates resources through the involvement of alternative care specialists in order to ascertain the best possible treatment for each patient by focusing on addressing the causes, as opposed to simply managing symptoms. www.pureformomega.com
