Olsen wrote for Sport Illustrated during the 1960's, and penned a celebrated series examining black athletes and Racism. The magazine also credits Olsen with writing one of the best biographies on boxing icon and attempted counter-racist Muhammad Ali. Last week, Olsen gave a detailed account of the slow leak of information that began to reveal the FBI's COINTELPRO operation. Pratt, Johnnie Cochran and pretty much all other non-white people seemed clueless about the breath and scope of the counter-intelligence operation. White enforcement officials lied and concealed their illegal activities, while keeping Pratt caged in solitary confinement for years.

Between the protests and shootings, hysteria around the covid-19 vaccine spiked as reports detail problems and a temporary discontinuance of the Johnson and Johnson inoculation. Amazon executives are gleeful and workers will continue to look for ways to improve warehouse labor conditions. A throng of reports continue documenting the return to in person work environments. Large chunks of the population remain unvaccinated and virus rates continue to fluctuate. We'll discuss how our places of employment are adjusting to the times. He refused to sit quietly as a convicted murderer and branded the jury racists. Once incarcerated, he was classified as a maximum threat. He was placed in solitary confinement and described as a blood thirty, unrepentant killer. Pratt details repeated attempts to have him killed by other inmates or guards. Things got so bad, fellow inmates like Charles Manson and members of the Aryan Brotherhood alerted Pratt to threats on his life. The Context of White Supremacy welcomes Charles “Chip” Jones. A Pulitzer-Prize-nominated journalist and author, Jones is a White man who’s worked and written about the Commonwealth of Virginia for a number of years. We’ll discuss his more recent text, The Organ Thieves: The Shocking Story of the First Heart Transplant in the Segregated South. The book describes how a black male, Bruce Tucker, died under peculiar circumstances in 1968. As opposed to having his family notified, so they could comfort Mr. Tucker in his final moments, no one was contacted until Tucker was deceased and his heart stolen. The heart was later “found” inside a White man as the state bragged about the first successful heart transplant in the region. We’ll place this in the context of the “coonman” Governor Ralph Northam, who graduated medical school in Virginia, and the current Covid-19 health crisis. Gus learned about The Organ Thieves from the great Harriet A. Washington. The author of Medical Apartheid, Carte Blanche and A Terrible Thing to Waste said that Jones’s book is important, but fails to provide important context.

After a year of bungling and contradictory responses to the Covid-19 plague, the Centers for Disease Control Executive Director Rochelle Walensky  designated Racism (White Supremacy) a serious public health threat. Jeff Bezos's progeny has steadfastly resisted calls to accept unionization, claiming they have the best treated slaves of any plantation. They employed all manner of propaganda in pleading their case. Also, we've endured 12+ months of covid-19 disruptions of the workplace. This week Facebook, Uber, and Microsoft and Google and a number of other businesses announced that employees should plan to return to the office at some point later in this year. Many held out hopes that remote work, or at least a "hybrid" system may be a possibility for the future.
