The Katherine Massey Book Club @ The C.O.W.S. hosts the 2nd study session on Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf's In The Blink of an Eye. Abdul-Rauf, formerly known as Chris Jackson, is a retired NBA player who became infamous for not participating in the national anthem during the 1996 season. Abdul-Rauf was quickly ejected from the league and all but forgotten. In fact, White journalists found as many of Abdul-Rauf's black co-workers as possible to have them criticize how he responded to White Supremacy/Racism. This very dynamic is being replicated currently with basketball player Kyrie Irving being widely admonished by many of his non-white colleagues. Gus hopes that by studying Abdul-Rauf's tribulations, non-white people will better understand the importance of resisting the urge to criticize other Victims of Racism. During our premier study session, hunger was the theme. Abdul-Rauf talked about his father hunger because he had no idea who is dad is. He writes about growing up in Mississippi and starving all the time. He thankfully took advantage of the many fruit and nut trees in the delta region, but we also heard about sugar water and coffee for dinner. Abdul-Rauf's black mother did not graduate high school and was likely illiterate. We heard about black people name-calling other black people and more details about attempted black parents having random sex partners (boyfriends) around their young offspring. Abdul-Rauf's mother beat him when he was young and shouted at him for being fidgety. She was gracious enough to visit with us last month, to discuss the re-release of her memoir, Almost British: Re-Visited, which gives detailed account of years of deliberate White Supremacist abuse from mostly White Women in British Prison service. Last time, we detailed Ms. Thompson's resistance to blame her workplace troubles on Racism as well as the lecherous comments White Male colleagues made about her attire. This time we'll dig into the myriad ways White Women sabotaged her efforts, denied her access to training, and undermined her confidence and #BlackSelfRespect. We discuss the corrosive impact this had on her health and attempted marriage. He's scheduled to be sentenced next year, and could still face the death penalty for the federal charges related to his attack. Gus T. hopes to be in west New York for the sentencing. After we spent the whole summer hand-ringing about the poisoned and insufficient water in Jackson, Mississippi, Houston, Texas received a boil water notice this week. Large numbers of black people reside in this "Lone Star" city, and Victims of Racism has fewer resources to compensate for these sort of crises. In Missouri, Kevin Johnson was executed as a convicted "cop killer" even after evidence demonstrated White Supremacy/Racism during his court proceedings. In San Francisco, California, enforcement officials ponder if employing robots with lethal force will improve Bay Area policing. Speaking of enforcement officials, Austin Lee Edwards worked for two Virginia enforcement agencies and allegedly had a "spotless" record before he drove to California to kidnap a 15-year-old child. Kwanzaa, Christmas, Hanukah and some other pagan rituals will have the world's attention for the next 30 days. And the hysteria invariably infects the workplace. Gus recommends avoiding "gift swaps" and other activities that are unrelated to your workplace duties. If you are required to attend a holiday office party, make certain that you are: sober, alert, accompanied by a trustworthy Victim of Racism, and present for a limited amount of time. The Chesapeake, Virginia Walmart was the location of one of the more recent mass shootings. A 31-year-old black male, Andre Bing, is accused of having killed 6 people and taken in his own life in the carnage. Four of the six fatalities appear to be non-white people to Gus. Bing is alleged to have written a "death note" accusing his co-workers of mocking him and calling him cannibal serial killer "Jeffrey Dahmer." Speaking of White traditions, while Jerry Jones's Dallas Cowboys hosted a home tackle football game on Thanksgiving Day for the 56th time since 1966, a Washington Post report showcased a 1957 photograph of a teenage Jones amongst a gang of White Supremacists who are verbally abusing a small group of black students attempting to "integrate" an Arkansas high school. Jones said we're bringing up old stuff and he was just "curious." While the planet focuses on the World Cup in Qatar, black soccer players are constantly subjected to Racial threats and humiliation on social media. Some venues may have added security after a non-white Walmart employee reportedly killed six workers and took his own life at a Chesapeake, Virginia store. It's alleged that suspected gunman Andre Bing had conflict with other co-workers and was described as "weird," although no one reported concerns that Bing might become violent. Once again, we read Gavin De Becker's The Gift of Fear, he writes that most often, co-workers often display early signs of their malicious intent. We've learned so much about the Louisiana native. We heard about his sexual activity with a drug addict, White whore. We learned about his disdain for Abe Saperstein and his minstrel show Harlem Globetrotters. We heard about his mother Katie Russell and his father (Mr. Charlie) molded him into the inspirational figure we revere. Last week, we heard about Russell's many non-constructive arrangements with females. He details arguments, alcohol-fueled traffic collisions, and bloody confrontations with a black female. Meanwhile, his White hooker/paramour is presented as a Rhodes Scholar and humanitarian who studies slavery. Russell also explains how White Men in the NBA were furious about his refusal to shave. Apparently, they contemplated making a new rule to demand that all players - especially the black males - shear their faces. "Big Bill" wraps things up reminiscing about his days in Seattle, Washington with his White "hippie friends" and scaling Mt. Way back in 2011, during the middle of the London Riots over the police killing of Mark Duggan, Ms. Thompson's former husband Rudy Ebanks spoke with us about the first version of Almost British. After being prohibited from speaking about or promoting her book, her husband picked up the mantle and spoke on a number of platforms about the terrorism Ms. Thompson experienced working for British Prison Service. After more than a decade, Ms. Thompson changed her name, divorced Mr. Ebanks, and re-published Almost British (Re-Visited) to accurately document the years of White Supremacist abuse she endured on the job. The C.O.W.S. (Context of White Supremacy) Radio Program welcomes Ben Green. We're at the cusp of finishing Bill Russell's astounding autobiography, Second Wind: The Memoirs of an Opinionated Man. Russell is an amazing representation of attempted counter-racism, and his book is chock full of basketball history. He spends a substantial amount of time discussing Abe Saperstein and the Harlem Globetrotters. Russell rejected a job offer to suit up for the "clown princes of basketball" and indicted the White owner of the ball club as a Racist/White Supremacist. In fact, Russell mentions Saperstein by name when he enumerates his reasons for rejecting the basketball Hall of Fame. Gus T. was ignorant about all of this. #StillLearning Low and behold, Mr. Green penned a whole book detailing the history of Mr. Saperstein and his Racist management of the world famous Harlem Globetrotters. This book covers most of the 20th century, the "great migration" of black residents from the southern US to other regions, and the history and evolution of basketball under the domination of Racist man. We are mandated to discuss why their theme song is "Sweet Georgia Brown" - which is an ode to a black whore. Mr. Green disclosed that some of his White family members are "hardcore racists" who told Racist Jokes. When asked if he could share a Racist Joke, he instead disclosed that his father was present for the 1922 lynching of Arthur Young.
