On this our 50th episode, we had the chance to sit down with Brewmaster Tanner Hinrichsen from Saulter Street Brewery and chat beer!
Tanner tells is all about the really unique history of the Riverside community that Saulter Street is located in. We learned that the current building has some amazing history attached to it including being used as a munitions factory in World War 2.
Saulter Street is well known for brewing traditional style beers which ties so well into the history of the area and Tanner's passion for brewing classic beers. Including their Riverside Copper Pils, It's About Bloody Time English Ale and the Whirs and Clanks Japanese Lager!
We find out about the Saulter Session Series of beers that include the recent Biere de Mars, a rarely seen style, and the Sasquatch Cream Ale using the Canadian hop Sasquatch! This series will include an educational video that takes you through the creation of the beer and tasting notes!
Tanner tells us about his passion for barreling beers and how that passion started way back in brewing school! That passion comes through amazingly in Saulter Streets Barrel program which includes the Annual release of Krampus!
We had a great time chatting with Tanner and can't wait to get down to Saulter Street in person. Be sure to drop in and check out their patio for some fresh pints, beer to go or order online to try these amazing classic style brews!
