  • Don't Manage Stress – Eliminate Stress With Dr. Mort Orman

In today's episode, Dr. Mort Orman shares his experience developing a framework for not managing stress but banishing it from your life. He shares his personal development over the years and how misunderstandings around stress and managing stress contribute to the problem.

Dr. Mort shares insight into the truth about stress. He discusses the system he used to treat his own stress and how he now uses that with his clients. We discuss how fears or stressors such as public speaking, relationship issues, or workplace interactions do not need to control our lives. Through Dr. Mort's framework, anyone can identify the causes of anger, stress, or other negative emotions and dissipate that emotion through evaluating our reactions and looking at the reality rather than our assumptions and internal stories.

This is an eye-opening discussion about the "management of stress" and why that is a problem. By simply managing stress, we are not addressing the automatic thoughts and behaviors driving stress responses and behaviors.

If you are dealing with stress (and who isn't today!), this is an important message you need to hear.

    About the Guest:

Dr. Mort Orman, M.D. is an internal medicine physician with 40 years of success as an anger elimination and stress elimination expert. He is the creator of the "I Can't Believe I'm Not Angry Anymore" anger relief program, a 10-session program that has proven to be extremely effective in helping people overcome longstanding anger issues, including anger issues related to divorce. Dr. Orman has led more than 100 anger and stress elimination workshops for doctors, nurses, lawyers, business owners, entrepreneurs, other professionals, and even the F.B.I. He has also been the official sponsor of National Stress Awareness Month in the U.S. every April since 1992.

  • Celebrate Your Inner Difficult Woman

On today's episode, Elaine Blais shares how we are perceived as kids and how those "labels" were really designed to create a script that we feel obligated to follow. We have a great discussion about how midlife is a time to disrupt life and to turn things into what we want and not what we think people want us to do.

This is an essential part of finding ourselves as women, but it can be overwhelming making all these changes. Elaine talks about how these changes can be a gift, including the gift of divorce, which can give us the opportunity to be who we want to be. We talk about reality and how we often don't know what we want to do, and feeling lost or searching is a natural part of this rediscovery of ourselves. We need to stop shaming, blaming, and questioning ourselves about wanting something different and making a change.

We discuss how relationships can change over time, and how our perceptions or baggage may hold us in relationships that are no longer helpful, healthy, or supportive. Elaine shares her ideas on healing and moving forward, letting go of these limits, and seeking self-approval. Shedding old programming about perfection and what we are "supposed" to be is the only way to develop our own self-approval and step into our full potential.

    About the Guest:

Elaine Blais, is a certified life coach, midlife troublemaker (aka difficult woman), spiritual practitioner, and author who specializes in empowering women to reclaim their personal power through the art of self-approval. Through her own experiences, including divorce, she has come to understand the power of embracing all aspects of oneself, even those that may be perceived as "difficult." Now, she is passionate about helping others do the same, by writing a new story for their lives. Elaine believes that being a "difficult" woman is not only acceptable but powerful and she is here to support and guide you in your own journey of self-discovery and empowerment.

  • Change Your Habits Change Your Life

On today's episode, Marie Perez shares her insight into shifting unhealthy patterns by helping ourselves. We discuss being "fixers" and how that often leads to a lack of self-care. • Everything Happens: Ways To Find Happiness and Gratitude In Difficult Times

In today's episode, Ricky shares information on how to add happiness and gratitude to your life, even in times of challenge. Ricky has studied different forms of how to create happiness in life and the importance of choosing our thoughts to create the happiness we desire. This includes turning our inner critic into our inner friend and giving ourselves the gift of forgiveness.

Ricky busts the myth of "fake it till you make it" and walks us through how to stay positively focused and move forward using the focus of "act as if." In other words, thoughts are either positive or negative, and we have the ability to look at things from different perspectives. This is not about being happy 100% of the time but looking for possibilities in all situations. We talk about how life includes painful situations and trying to eliminate or minimize real-world situations is not only unhelpful but unrealistic. However, even in the most challenging times, there are things to be grateful for that change our mental and physical response to the day.

This is a truly positive and uplifting message and podcast. Ricky shares his passion and mission of spreading happiness and gratitude around the world by talking about the positivity and possibilities in life.

    About the Guest:

Ricky Powell: I began a successful acting career at the age of 7 appearing with many TV and Film legends. After graduating college, I began my career behind the camera on The Golden Girls in post-production.

I worked my way up, joined the Director's Guild of America, and after 5 years, left the production company to work full-time at NBC where I put every network show on the air for the next 25 years. I began creating my "encore" career as a public speaker, corporate trainer, and executive and mindset coach while I was still at the network.

Today, I am enjoying my career, focusing on helping my clients live their best lives and achieve the success they are seeking. I'm excited to be launching an online community where like-minded, positive entrepreneurs can meet, learn, ask questions, and support one another on an ongoing basis.
